It’s Tuesday the 10th of September and I’m at Gerrards Cross. For some context, the station was opened in 1906 and is situated on the Great Western & Great Central Joint Railway (with the route now forming part of the Chiltern Mainline) with the station being located 19 Miles (30.57 Kilometres) from London Marylebone. The station is currently served and managed by Chiltern Railways.

Can someone explain why Thameslink trains have different departing sounds at different places?
They sound different as when operating on different parts of the network is when operating on 3rd rail power, these trains use different driving frequencies to reduce harmonic interference with lineside equipment. This is set up differently when running on AC power on overhead electric line equipment, which leads to them sounding different. Thanks for watching my video.
