15 years of Climeworks: Our journey
15 years ago, the story of Climeworks began. And what a journey we've been on:
From first tests in the lab to operating the two largest Direct Air Capture plants in the world,
From developing prototypes in Zurich to establishing one of the first megaton Direct Air Capture Hubs in the U.S.,
From a start-up to more than USD 800 million in equity raised in total,
From two PhD students, Jan Wurzbacher and Christoph Gebald, to a global team of over 500 Climeworkers,
From dream and ambition to reality.
Thank you for shaping a net-zero future together with us!

Mr. Wurzbacher, I believe we must have the carbon pools volume known of at all times. Please, I would love to assist protect and stabilize our environment. I can work for free remotely until I can prove I can be an asset. I also just sent a message to ClimeWorks humbly requesting to assist with Direct Air Capture of CO2. I agree, there was a recent time that if we would’ve stopped emission, strategies wouldn’t be needed to filter carbon from our atmosphere. I believe our planet would’ve been able to recover by itself.

I like that. The more we support each other, the sooner we will be able to more control CO2 within our atmosphere. I just hope going forward, we will be better stewards to our environment in terms of implementing strategies that account for our affection. Such as Direct Air Capture for CO2, we insert the carbon in the ground. Are we certain the carbon doesn’t move? If we don’t have real time sensors documenting this information, we don’t know. Calculating it later if increased carbon deposits is known to affect that local environment will be much harder on determining all the reactions. I would like to research what goes on from the carbon deposits from Direct Air Capture of CO2.

Are we sure that removing large amounts of CO₂ will benefit the Earth, humans, and nature? CO₂ levels in the atmosphere are already relatively low at 0.03%. Plants rely on CO₂ for photosynthesis to produce the food we depend on, naturally removing megatons of it from the air. Wouldn’t planting more trees be a better solution?

Listen to me! This might be one of the most valuable free bits of information anyone gives out! OTEC ocean Thermal Energy Conversion CAN BE USED TO STOP HURRICANES!!!! The way you do it is to convert the thermal energy into a SYNTHETIC FUEL!!! install OTEC on an oil tanker, install Direct Air Capture CO2 equipment as well as Fischer Tropsch Reactors or Sabatier reactors as well, reverse osmosis system to create pure water, renewable energy eloctrolyzes the Hydrogen for methanation and or Hydrogenation of carbon. ALL RESOURCES ARE AVAILABLE AT SEA!! INCLUDING WIND AND WAVE RENEWAVLES!!!! IF OTEC IS USED, the temp of the ocean surface can be reduced along with the potential energy for fueling hurricanes!!! Countless lives and peoperty will be saved.... THIS IS TOO IMPORTANT AN IDEA TO BE KEPT TO ONES SELF!!!!

It is scientifically impossible for greenhouse gas behavior to cause global warming. All the greenhouse radiant energy from the earth is completely absorbed in earth's greenhouse effect by greenhouse gases within 20 meters of the radiating surface that is always in saturation from the strong greenhouse gas water vapor. This video has the United Nations Climate Change disclaimer. Global warming was officially stated at 1.1°C in 1991 and 1.06°C in 2022. The cause of global warming is not known as of 2024. The back of the United Nation's Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) science report states it took its greenhouse gas samples at 20,000 meters altitude where it is common high school level knowledge there is no greenhouse radiant energy. This is typical practice for deceptive marketing to state legal data transparency protecting the perpetrators from fraud prosecution. The IPCC has been transparent with its data acknowledging it is not dealing with active greenhouse gases. Earth's greenhouse effect is frequently used as a primary example to high school students of a system always in saturation from the strong greenhouse gas water vapor absorbing all the greenhouse radiant energy from the earth with greenhouse gases within 20 meters of the radiating surface that is all around us everyday and can't have its overall effect changed. There is no further greenhouse radiant energy to interact with greenhouse gases. At 1% average tropospheric water vapor over 99% of earth’s greenhouse effect is from water vapor. Water vapor would hold earth's greenhouse effect in saturation if it were the only greenhouse gas in the atmosphere. The overall average temperature gain to the earth from the earth’s greenhouse effect is 5.55°C (10°F). Arctic warming is taking place with the proving mechanism being warm Atlantic Ocean waters migrating deeper and more frequently into the Arctic Ocean warming it and the region. That warmer water is causing a few weeks less of reflective snow and ice coverage resulting in more solar heat gain to the Arctic region surface. Atmospheric CO2 levels of 1200 ppm about three times what they are today would greatly invigorate C3 plants the majority of plant life on earth greatly greening the planet. 0.4% of the atmosphere is CO2 and on average 1% is H20 water vapor. (1% H20)/(0.4% CO2) = 25. Water vapor is 25 times more present in the atmosphere on average than CO2. Water vapor has an CO2e of 18, 18 X 25 = 450 CO2e total for water vapor to 1 CO2e for CO2. The Earth’s oceans have 3-1/2 million sea floor volcanic vents warming the water and changing it’s chemistry that have not been systematically accounted for.

Converting the exquisitely life-giving CO2 molecule into inert stone, the Climeworks process depletes information, knowledge, and wealth.
