Unfortunately a lot of drivers would seem to think I'm wrong but trust me, I'm not. This is what being an Approved Driving Instructor is all about. The stud markings (those small squares) are from lane 3 lane to the right guiding vehicles to the middle lane so the can exit heading north. Mr Fruit and Veg was alongside me. He should have stayed in lane 3 and spiralled after exit 2. I spend hours and hours and hours (a huge chunk of my life) at this junction. The bus that destroyed the SUV the day before was in the same lane as me, signalling to go right. The SUV did the same as Mr Fruit and veg. It was an awful mess. The SUV was cautioned for driving with undue care and attention and the bus driver went merrily on his way (after exchanging details of course)

OK. I couldn't see exactly where the van came from, but it looked to me that he was following the stud markings. Do you know where in the highway code the information is regarding the stud markings rules ? I've been driving Artics around the UK & Europe for 35yrs with over 3 million kilometres under my belt & one thing I know about those markings is that most people haven't got the faintest idea how to navigate them. When I follow them as ordered by the signs on the on slip to some of the roundabouts around the country, the only constant is that they're potential collision points as people blunder their way through, half the time narrowly missing eachother by having to take evasive action.🤦‍♂️ Luckily after so many miles we develop a sixth sense & know roughly who is going where (most of the time🤷‍♂️).

@@HimoftheBoat1967 I think the general rules for this kind of junction is Section 184. I know what you mean with regard to narrowly missing vehicles. It's 35 years since I stopped doing European Haulage and the roads have changed so much. As ADI's our goal is to produce the safest drivers - drivers pass their driving test and think 'that's it! I don't need to learn anymore' without realising that passing the test is just the start of the learning process. Driving Instructors give you the skills to pass your test and hopefully enforce the need to be safe, legal, and continue learning. Sadly, a percentage stop learning. Stay safe, keep on trucking :)

@@islamerogrogoti The speed of the road is shown by the various speed signs appropriate to each section of the road. The videos are there to give you an idea of where you are going and are just for reference. Some of the speed limits of certain roads change regularly (the notification of these changes we don't get) which is why stating a limit may be misinterpreted in the future. ☺️

@@fsociety6983 the title of the collection is 'What do you think?' What could you have done better?' It's not a complaint, it's an observation. Your car insurance costs have sky rocketed due to claims for all sorts of things - no insurance, no license, poor driving standard etc. Do you accept these increases or could you drive better? The series is just there to make people analyse and think 'What could I have done better?' If everyone had this positive attitude then the roads would be safer, the costs would hopefully decrease, we all might just live a little longer and happier. Don't you think? I'm a driving instructor. I spend my entire working time witnessing things that may or may not affect people's lives, to get a safer motorist passed their test and onwards with their own driving. If I ignore these incidents, am I doing my job right? 'What do you think?'

I used to upload the slow version but it was watched an average of 8 seconds. The quick version gives you just an idea of where you are going. If you discuss with your ADI , they will have been practicing all of these areas. If you use a Tom Tom Sat nav, I can email you the exact routes of routes A-Y as gpx files
