Thanks for the info
One of the greatest how too's I've every seen.
This is the best video I have watched on the topic. He goes as far as explaining the physics of load distribution, center of gravity, biomechanics, vestibular systems and proprioception concepts, plus a great alternative technique for people having difficulties. I actually made progress using this method. As long as the internal femural rotation, Hips and torsal joint mobility is in good working order, this method is superb as an alternative. P.s No stress on my knee or foot because the whole leg and hips are slightly turning, not the knee joint. Unless you're stiff, go for it!❤
thank you!
Mongo pusher 4 lyfe 🔥🔥🔥
ala rapaz ta postando ate em ingles, espero que assim teu canal tenha mais alcance maninho
glad I read the comments before I actually started watching, seems like this information either is completely false or only works when you wanna try tricks
When you start you plant your feet too much, the trick in skateboarding is to be light on your feet and almost never in a "set" position only the best position for the time, place, activity, terrain, lighting, weather .. basically PRACTICE till your body just does what it has learnt to do, and not do, by getting hammered
this vid should be taking down..... it´s disinformation and got waaay to many likes....
how do skaters catch the skateboard? I step on the tail but it doesn't reach my hand. I didn't get it
I have trouble pushing with my left foot on the board. I can only do it with my right foot on the board and push with my left. I want to figure out how to do it on my left foot too soon.
The secret no one tells you because it's wrong what you teach.
Cara vc devia entra pra um jogo do tony hawk kkkkk
Clean!!
Subscribed! I found your video in search of how to push my electric skateboard if it runs out of juice. Have you ever tried Electric Skateboards? And can you do Ollie onto a sidewalk or a small obstacle with an electric skateboard? Let me know if you have this information and I look forward to a future video or an explanation. Thanks!
Don't overthink it, just push the way feels better. Learn by trial and error
Hurt myself by doing this and may have torn ligament when I fell off the board. You should edit this video and apologize to everyone who got hurt by listening to this. Keep your board foot pointed toward where you are pushing.
THIS! that vid should get removed asap. misleading af
Honestly never seen some shit like this, definitely have to try it 🔥

Хорошие советы.
im only 4 minutes in but wow. ive picked up skating again and was trying to learn best way to push. Like I can but i have the oppurtunity now to get rid of bad habits as im relearning. and WOW you absolutely gave examples for EVERYTHING. I appreciate it greatly
Angled front foot together with having most of your weight on your front foot + pebbles could prevent easy step off. Aka body slam
@MattHalcyon i agree that this video's method can cause unnecessary strain. i only ever push with my front foot facing forward and never really have problems doing it like that. i had a session a couple weeks ago where i was going hard and my front leg was a bit sore afterwards. i'm pretty sure i was using bad technique with my riding, front leg being crooked and pushing hard with my back foot. a day or two later the soreness got worse in my front leg and foot, and i could barely walk that night. i'm sure it's something that can go away with some rest, although i'm not always the best at giving myself time to rest up lol. that's simply one problem i see happening with this video's method. people are free to ride their board however they like, there's no rules in skateboarding after all, but i would recommend against this method in the long run
100% agree!
Like a boss
Como sempre Top demais os rolés e o vídeo em geral🔥🔥
when i started skating at 10 i started mongo and it was honestly the best thing because once i improved pushing switch was already very comfortable
Well that's sick

Thank you! 👍🏾

I'd argue the video is only wrong in application. You want to START toes forward like running as others have said. You can adjust your front foot when you are ADVANCED so you can steer while pushing without having to change to riding stance. You don't need the skill to start and it's better to strengthen your joints and muscles in the proper form FIRST then you will be able to handle and know the limits of angling your front foot for steering. If you can't push, adjust your front foot, then ride/trick you aren't even ready for the ollie or other maneuver. Get used to pushing, adjusting your feet, then riding comfortably FIRST. If you get that under you before moving on I promise you you'll have a better time with less risk of injuries.
This video is funny..... You're teaching people the opposite of what's true. Point your toes forward - I've been skating since 97, if you have your foot angled and you hit a crack or stone, you're wayyyy more likely to slam. You can push through shitty ground/cracks etc x10 easier with toes forward. Also not good for your hips
You're doing it wrong. You're starting with your foot on the ground, you should swing your foot way up in the air in front of you and swing it down at the ground and then follow through swinging it behind you a little before lifting it and swinging it in front of you again.
I agree with you. I like having my foot straight while pushing. I just feel more squared up with the direction I'm going and with the kinesiology of my hips knees, ankles and feet. I also like the big front kick you mentioned. It looks cool, gets more speed and gets you further away from the noobs that barely feel comfortable taking their foot off the board to push. It really doesn't take 3 or 4 movements to adjust your front foot for a trick either. It takes a little more skill and balance to move your front foot those extra couple centemeters but it's totally worth it.
This is not good advice at all
Welcome to youtube, where the people who understand nothing teach everyone.
the hell did i just watch this is an utterly bad take
Great tips ❤
All people are different, push however feels comfortable to you - rules for fools 🤷♂️
hell yeah!! nice vid ! 🛹🛹💯
Good explanation, great tips, thank You!
saw title and thumbnail, so thought i'd check it out. is pretty much what i tell people. people keep most of their balance with their big toe and heel, and, as long as you can apply pressure on either side of the baseplate, you can leverage the board side to side for balance and turning using both forward/back and side to side muscles of the foot. foot pointed forward gives more natural body positioning for the lunge, allowing stronger pushes, but too far forward limits balance to toes only and weaker side to side ankle muscles. mongo pushing can shorten stride, because mongo forces the board in front of the body's center when you really step into the lunge of a push. not to mention the extra set up time.
Very helpful thank you
You’re welcome 💚
I really like the video
I really appreciate it 💚
Thank you!
awesome vid! you were super informal!
Your English is very good btw, good video also!
Nice video
This only applies when setting up for a trick. If you wanna push fast and long, your foot should be straight. Twisting your knee does not only make it harder to balance, it also puts unnecessary stress on the joint and it looks less casual. Look at pics of Gino Ianucci. His is often referred to as "the best push". If he pushes down the street, the foot is completely straight. If you wanna make distance, it's the way to go.
Having my front foot angled like that feels very akward and feels unnatural to me but the rest is very useful, thank you for the tips!
you dont have to angle your foot as mush as is said in the video however even adding a slight angle to your foot GREATLY helps with balance
The best, most in-depth explanation of how to walk-the-dog I have ever seen. Extremely helpful! Told me things no other video has. Great job of teaching!
