    I recently went through a tough breakup. My 7 year relationship ended a month ago, and it's been really hard for me. I still love my ex so much and can't stop thinking about him. I've tried everything to win him back, but nothing has worked. It's frustrating, and I can't imagine being with anyone else. I've been trying to move on, but I can't seem to get him out of my mind. I know it might sound strange to share this here, but I miss him a lot and just can't stop thinking about him.

      I understand the pain of letting go of someone you love. I went through a similar situation when my 12 year relationship ended. I couldn't just let him go, so I did everything I could to win him back. I sought the help of a spiritual counselor, and their guidance ultimately helped me to bring him back into my life.

    Really interesting talk and statistics! I will say, when you guys were talking about traditional couples and “what makes men more qualified to work” and the answer was “patriarchy” I think the question could be reframed to “what makes women more qualified (than men) to be at home?” Both men and women can be stay at home parents, but generally women are more qualified or customarily the home maker role because they are the ones gestating the child. An infant in particular benefits from and requires maternal presence. It all comes down to basic biology. I think we think of this as an oppressive “patriarchy” in our modern age but the fact is traditional roles reflect the basic, undeniable biology of the man and woman in the couple.

    My wife told me she wanted a 6 month separation just 2 months ago. Then my therapist wanted to meet her. After just 1 hour long meeting my therapist literally told her to “rip off the bandaid” and now she is in the process of filing for divorce. I know I haven’t been the perfect husband but I still love her and feel she is my soul mate. I’m in so much pain watching her walk away. I just don’t have any hope that she will come back. I wish I had a therapist that thought that my marriage was worth saving and not some disposable broken thing that just needs tossed in the trash. I’ve been practicing smart contact and working on my pies, but idk if I should just move on or if I should hold on to hope when there seemingly isn’t any

    Kimberly! I love your podcast and the marriage helper one I listen obsessively. I love what y'all do and the topics you cover, I have gained so much over the last few months. Greatly appreciate y'all❤ I have a thought about the traditional gender role discussion y'all were having... I know y'all decided to go forth with it being work/job outside home related. I think that is such a small minor piece of that, I know many many traditional gender role marriages humans and some of the wives work outside home some don't but the major piece in those is much more about the feminine masculine dynamic between the spouses in their personal interactions, in the home, ECT like even if the wife in her personal life as in working outside the home is maybe in her masculine at work, she is able and happy to be in her feminine in her home and with her husband/family!! Not in the toxic ways many speak of masculine feminine dynamic either but the actual and beautiful dynamic❤ I just thought I would throw that out there because even you felt working made you automatically not for in that role! Anyways happy Tuesday❤ love y'all

    @8:35 - yes, I thought my ex-wife should have worked on the marriage instead of choosing an affair. I was the one in marriage counseling. I even contacted your father in late 2003 or early 2004 and was told he would reach out to her, but he (or his staff) never followed up with me on setting up the call, etc. But yes, when someone is betrayed they often wonder why their spouse didn't put their energy into the marriage instead of putting it into an affair. If she's unhappy, he is too. What sort of person decides they are going to just worry about themself and betray the other? Therefore, of course I thought she could have done more. There was nothing unsolvable until she decided to have an affair and consider no other course of action. He cannot do the work for her. At some point, she has to want to do the work. Hey, at least she demonstrated her true nature.

    It’s important to calculate your max HR to be sure zone 2 is in play. After years of exercise, I think the average citizen should just consistently exercise and not worry about zones.

    • @christopherbrand5360
      @christopherbrand5360 9 дней назад

      I think we probably agree on your main point, but what is really needed is not knowledge of max HR. The relationship between max HR and the first ventilatory threshold (aerobic threshold) is wildly variable. It is almost as variable as the relationship between age and max HR. The video describes this thoroughly. It is best to identify AeT directly (use lactate test or gas exchange) or feel it out by using the talk/sing test, nose breathing (not for deviated septum individuals), or simply staying easier than the average pace/power of your fastest effort over two hours. If you have good information about the second ventilatory threshold/lactate turn point (LT) then AeT is usually about 85% of that (HR or power). This is a much more reliable estimate than using max HR, but suffers from a lot of the same problems, the effort range between AeT and LT can be narrow or wide depending on fitness and other factors (e.g. goal event duration/intensity). For example, sprint athletes often have a much wider spread between the thresholds than distance runners.

    Good explanation of Z2, though it might have helped if she had explained the relationship (or approx ratio) between VO2 max and HRMax. Most people have no idea what their VO2 max is or its units but they can do %s of HR Max. Also on men v women she didn’t mention that women typically have higher fat ratios than men, in which case is the difference in fat burning that they have higher fat in body composition and so will tend to burn it more (in which case that could be true of men with relatively higher body fat content) or hormonal so specifically related to being a women?

    Hormones are, indeed, a tremendous factor in general health. There is no question that we are living in times wherein we are dealing with people with serious sadistic tendencies at work. Negative competition also leads to smear campaigns. Most of us are not equipped to deal with both the crushing pressures of work/life while having to watch your back at the same time. Since you mentioned the scriptures... this one comes to mind (2 Timothy 3:13).

I decided the moment my wife told me she wants a divorce and that she doesn't think we can fix the marriage that I was committed to doing whatever it takes. I know it won't be easy and I'm still torn apart daily by the pain of being separated and not being able to speak to her, but I am working first and foremost on creating the best husband I can be within myself and CALMING DOWN. I have faith that someday we will reconcile and rebuild trust, and our marriage will be stronger than ever for this groundwork that I am laying now, and will continue to lay down, not until the marriage is saved, but for the rest of my life, to never stop improving and building the future I want for my wonderful wife and I. Me and my beloved were in a beautiful union for three years. He was wonderful at least ninety seven percent of the time. He grew so much, gave up bad habits, and covered us in prayer. He brought out the best in me, too. We had inside jokes, properly guessed at what the other person was going to say, and talked, laughed, and said I Love you every day. He often danced with me in the kitchen on a whim. The enemy couldn't let that continue. While there's very little I could have done to stop our separation (if I could have done anything I would have), but I do have a checklist of tasks to complete that will at least help me to feel less burdened and overwhelmed. If he never returns, at least I'll be done with those tasks. If he does eventually come back, then he'd likely feel less burdened, too. We could start talking and praying, and seeing where God takes us. I'm praying for us, and for everyone in the comments, so many people with hurting hearts like mine. Much Love and many blessings to you all.😢❤
