Why I Bought A TenPoint Crossbow Over A Compound Bow
If you not doing jumping jacks in the stand! This line sold me over the fanatic😂
I’m tellin ya some people get a little to active up there in the stand😂
the holes is a good idea but in my mind i still think the corn is going to get ruined by rain can you let me know what your experience is before i buy it thanks
You are right you can’t keep all the water out but the feeder but it does do a pretty decent job at keeping the most of it out. What I have found is if you throw corn in it and just let it sit the deer will not eat all of it quick enough and the bottom will start to go bad. What I do is I’ll throw about 150lbs of corn or 3 50lbs bags in and then every week go out and stir it around with a stick. That does a pretty good job at keep the corn fresh. Also you want to make sure to throw some corn around the feeder to to get them comfortable with it and let them know where the feed is.
I am in the same boat with shoulder injuries, not to mention i am 61 years young. I have the Venom X. I have been shooting bows since i was 12.
Good review man
Sitka has lifetime warranty and customer service Is top notch. I have the incinerator system same as yours. I wear it in -25 muzzleloading and Ice fishing in MN. Totally worth the cost.
I find sitka too expensive for what ya get
It’s definitely pricy but if you’re going to be out in the elements hunting I’ll spend the extra money for quality and comfort. Not going to keep fingers and toes from getting cold but Sitka definitely holds heat better than other brands I’ve worn. Is it worth $500 for the jacket and $500 for the bibs. No prob not. Sitka definitely marks their shit up way to high I can agree with that
I just watched your video and purchased the set. How did you like them last year in the winter for hunting? I'm close to Ohio in the state north of you. I have been using Carharts in the deer blind this past weekend. It wasn't cold but I just need something better. This seems like the best.
You made a good purchase! They keep you very warm when layered properly. I wear heavier thermals from Cabela then my drake hunting pants under the bibs then just throw the jacket on. When it’s real cold throw a mid level jacket on under you be good. Only thing that got cold last year when it was real cold was toes and fingers but that’s always a problem when it gets real cold
I’m wearing my stuff now staying warm about 32 out with snow on the ground
@@CountryBoyRN Thanks for your reply! I feel like I might fit that stereotype of a newer hunting buying expensive stuff. But at the same time. I really don't like buying a 100$ jacket only to buy a 200$ jacket later and then eventually get into a Sitka... I also... have an infinity for nice things... But anyway. Thank you for replying to me. I liked your review and your philosophies behind it. Thank you! I subbed and look forward to possibly more videos someday!
@@nathanw6867I hear ya brother! No prob I need to make some new videos for sure. My prob is I get to doing something then get done and then I’m like shit should have done a vid. My time has been limited cause of work as well. I’ll make some new videos soon. Thanks for the support brother!!
@@CountryBoyRN yea I get that. I'm not one to document everything I do with a camera. we think alike there. Work hard play hard! See you around. Thanks again.
Brother, I’ve been hunting with a compound bow since I was eight years old. I’m 50 now. My left shoulder fell out back in 2000. I was still able to hunt with a compound bow. Now my right shoulder fell out. I wasn’t able to pull my bow back this year so I had to get a crossbow permit for the state of Florida so I can hunt during bow season.
Brother, proud of ya sounds like ya found a way to stay in the game
Now that was a damn good review brother. Informative, non biased, easy to hear you. Well done sir…..
Cable string care 1# priority Scorypd venom, Ravins or 10 point on them, nothing else, Best~Regards
Love my turbo s1 shot a buck and a doe with it last year.
Love my tenpoint.....viper s400....thing is deadly...been eyeballing the new 430 myself.....can't go wrong with them!
I love when people say something about using a crossbow over compound bow, my thoughts is if crossbow hunting isnt real archery then they need to put down their compound bow with all their accessories and use a homemade recurve with homemade arrow and homemade broadheads..i used to use compound bow and love it but im in same boat with bad shoulders!!
I look forward to the end times when we’ll all be judged by our hearts and souls, not our possessions.
That sound on that first shot was not what I was expecting. It was very quiet. I just bought a Wicked Ridge Fury 410 de-cock and I haven't got to shoot it yet.
I was going to buy the fury then of course I got to looking at this Turbo S1 man it cost a little more but damn it’s a hell of a crossbow. From what I heard tho the fury is a hell of a bow for the price! Still a product of TenPoint so you can bet it’s a good bow
Have you had any success getting daytime traffic over night?
I put it out in the woods the last couple weeks of the season and just left it open since the recommend leaving it open 24/7 for the first couple weeks you put it out. Now that the season is over I’ve had it going on the timer and it’s taken the deer awhile to get familiar with it plus it’s a different feeder to them so they are a little skittish of it. To answer your question tho yes I have had success getting nocturnal deer to come around during the day
I wanna buy one cuz i dont practice much anymore hell thats like shooting a gun afternoon of playing with and you have 60 yrds in an afternoon
You can have that thing dialed in at 60 and hit the target inside a coffee can no problem. Great investment!
Congratulations man on your new crossbow. There's absolutely nothing wrong with using it crossbow instead of a compound bow I have been deer hunting for pretty much 35 years. I am a truck driver and I don't have the time for a compound bow either. Because of my work schedules so that's crossbow works perfect for me
The item the cranks the string to cock it, is not called a jobbie, it’s called a do hicky lol
A lot of compounds will allow you to dial down poundage to something you can work with injured, than build up to a point legal to harvest. Enjoy your crossbow for hunting but don't let your injury keep you from trying archery, even if its just target.
Good luck with the 10 Point. They’re the best in the market, you made the right choice. That 50 yard shot was dead on…crossbows are fun. 👍🙏🦌
Making a good shot with this bow is really easy! You’re right 50yrd ain’t nothing with it!!
Agree 100%. I have great experiences with my klim motorcycle gear. I own the incinerator setup and love it. Main reason I did not get fanatic was because of the amount of burrs it picks up and the snow/rain
No homo. What’s your weight and height? And what size did you go with. I own a bit of Sitka and some sizes fit perfect and some small. Looks like you could have went a size down but on the other hand you have room to layer. Thanks man and great vid!
I’m 5’11 230lbs. I went with XL in both. The sizing guide told me I should be a large in both but I’m a powerlifter as well and have huge quads and big upper back so it makes a large a littler snugger than I would like. I like to be able to move in my stuff not have it tight to the point where it looks good but it’s uncomfortable. I’m ok if there is a little bit of bag in the clothing that’s how I wear all my stuff. I’m hear for comfort not for looks😂 plus gives me room to put on a could pounds over the years lol
@@CountryBoyRNsmart thinking
Thanks for the video - some very good points. I am switching from the fanatic to the incinerator clothes. I just purchased the incinerator jacket. Figured I’d start with that because it’s expensive. Now in fairness the fanatic is warm clothing but it’s very bulky. Climbing a mountain or big hill in that stuff is no fun. Incinerator is nowhere near as bulky and gives you freedom of movement. Now I’m 6’ and 170 lbs. the large fanatic is tight on me for the jacket. The fanatic bibs large fits me well. I bought the incinerator XL. So try them on before you buy. I do wear layers. It was 20 degrees when I went out with the new incinerator jacket the fanatic bibs. I have a good climb to get to my stand but I just go slow. I could go a lot faster but I don’t want to work up a sweat. I don’t zip up anything until I’m in stand and start to feel the cold. I sat from 6:00 am to 5:00 pm. I had plenty of deer around me and the little noise the jacket makes was not an issue at all. I don’t move much when I’ve got deer close either. Anyway I sat from dark to dark (NE PA). Never got cold. Since you mentioned the mittens and I used those for the first time. I have been hunting for a lot of years and I can tell you those are the warmest gloves I have ever worn. And the most practical. The front part of the mittens fold back and inside the mittens are normal fingered gloves which allow for finger dexterity. In cold weather they are the just great. So how good are the incinerator clothes? Today I’m ordering the bibs. That should say everything you need to know. If people read this and decide to make the investment I hope your as happy about the product as I am. So in summary, the clothes are warm, flexible, light and provide great storage for all the toys we hunters seem to carry. If the above was not true I wouldn’t say it was.
Thank you for providing some information! These products are way to expensive to not get different perspectives before purchasing. Appreciate you input!
awesome video man. Thanks for the clarification and information.Definitely helped me make my decision
First down to earth informative video of the incinerator. This makes me want to sale my fanatic and switch. The noise is what concerned me, and the warmth. Thx for this video man, really great details to help those who may be on the fence! 🤙🏻
No prob! I try to keep all my videos as raw as possible and give an honest review of the products I use and purchase. Stuff is way too expensive to not watch videos and reviews before purchasing. Glad I could help! Stay tune for more real world reviews soon!
Who gives a shit what people think about what you shoot brother it’s your choice 🫵🏻🫵🏻🫵🏻
Thing whistled through the air💯💯💯🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
I wonder why it did that. Maybe had a fletching loose. The fletching that he is using are designed to be quiet down range.
Nice bow. Love my crossbows, traditional bows and compound they all have a place.
A ten point is a compound crossbow
Been thinking about switching from compound to crossbow. But am leaning away from crossbow. Here’s why: 1. power-stroke is less which seems to lose more fps per increase in arrow mass. 2. Crossbow arrow weight is limited compared to compound. You can always make compound arrows heavier and skinnier with much greater FOC, having access to larger fixed Broadheads, than a crossbows. 3. Compound arrows are not only able to be heavier, but also have higher sectional density being heavier, longer and skinnier. Penetration seems to be won by a combination of momentum primarily drawn from greater mass with high sectional density. Which a compound exceeds a crossbow in. 4. I like dealing with sights and not scopes. 5. I like the challenge to constantly have to practice and have a reason to be physically fit to use. It makes me feel more connected to my weapon. So until crossbows have power strokes that are 25-30 inches and start shooting arrows as long as compounds, I don’t think I’m going to switch and make the investment. I still enjoy crossbows too, but Just thought I’d share.
I’ve been hunting with a compound for 27 years and I love it! But if it were legal state wide for me I would switch to a crossbow in a second!
The last time I checked crossbows are now legal in all states😊
Illegal state wide for me.
Good shot brother I also have a knackerd shoulder and a crossbow is much easier than a compound bow on your health mate
Yours was realistic... good...
👏👏👏👏👏👍👌BUONA BALESTRA, MOLTO SILENZIOSA
If you're a puss for using a crossbow then so am I,lol. I worked 90 hrs last week and have 5 kids, so that was also my reason for getting one. No time, I work outside so when I'm hunting I like to stay warm and since I've bought my crossbow and popup blind, I've actually been shooting bigger deer so people can say whatever they want. We all use em for different reasons. Nice crossbow by the way, I'm in the market for one, so might check this out
Hell yea brother keepin it real🤘🏼🇺🇸
I bought the same cross bow in September , 2023. Hasn’t hunted with a cross bow in over 25 years. I hunted opening weekend of archery season. I killed a young doe opening day. I highly recommend this cross bow! TenPoint isn’t the cheapest cross bow out there but in my opinion it’s awesome quality!!! Has warranty! Mine came with scope basically lined up! All I had to do was tune it for 20 yards and then 40 yards. These bows are in my opinion extremely accurate!
Couldn’t agree more TenPoint is a great company with quality built bows with great customer service!
I have the same crossbow is nice I like it my only complaint is it only shoot 370 ft/s , just shoot a doe complete pass thru it broke the leg bone , learn how to used properly many people damage crossbows because they make a mistake and blame the crossbow , there is a lot of info on RUclips , enjoy
Thank you!
I have the same bow and mine shoots 390.
