    • @CountryBoyRN
      @CountryBoyRN Месяц назад

      You are right you can’t keep all the water out but the feeder but it does do a pretty decent job at keeping the most of it out. What I have found is if you throw corn in it and just let it sit the deer will not eat all of it quick enough and the bottom will start to go bad. What I do is I’ll throw about 150lbs of corn or 3 50lbs bags in and then every week go out and stir it around with a stick. That does a pretty good job at keep the corn fresh. Also you want to make sure to throw some corn around the feeder to to get them comfortable with it and let them know where the feed is.

      It’s definitely pricy but if you’re going to be out in the elements hunting I’ll spend the extra money for quality and comfort. Not going to keep fingers and toes from getting cold but Sitka definitely holds heat better than other brands I’ve worn. Is it worth $500 for the jacket and $500 for the bibs. No prob not. Sitka definitely marks their shit up way to high I can agree with that

    I just watched your video and purchased the set. How did you like them last year in the winter for hunting? I'm close to Ohio in the state north of you. I have been using Carharts in the deer blind this past weekend. It wasn't cold but I just need something better. This seems like the best.

    • @CountryBoyRN
      @CountryBoyRN 2 месяца назад

      You made a good purchase! They keep you very warm when layered properly. I wear heavier thermals from Cabela then my drake hunting pants under the bibs then just throw the jacket on. When it’s real cold throw a mid level jacket on under you be good. Only thing that got cold last year when it was real cold was toes and fingers but that’s always a problem when it gets real cold

I really don't like buying a 100$ jacket only to buy a 200$ jacket later and then eventually get into a Sitka... I also... have an infinity for nice things... But anyway. Brother, I’ve been hunting with a compound bow since I was eight years old. I’m 50 now. My left shoulder fell out back in 2000. I was still able to hunt with a compound bow. Now my right shoulder fell out. I wasn’t able to pull my bow back this year so I had to get a crossbow permit for the state of Florida so I can hunt during bow season.

    I love when people say something about using a crossbow over compound bow, my thoughts is if crossbow hunting isnt real archery then they need to put down their compound bow with all their accessories and use a homemade recurve with homemade arrow and homemade broadheads..i used to use compound bow and love it but im in same boat with bad shoulders!!

      I put it out in the woods the last couple weeks of the season and just left it open since the recommend leaving it open 24/7 for the first couple weeks you put it out. Now that the season is over I’ve had it going on the timer and it’s taken the deer awhile to get familiar with it plus it’s a different feeder to them so they are a little skittish of it. To answer your question tho yes I have had success getting nocturnal deer to come around during the day

    A lot of compounds will allow you to dial down poundage to something you can work with injured, than build up to a point legal to harvest. Enjoy your crossbow for hunting but don't let your injury keep you from trying archery, even if its just target.

      I’m 5’11 230lbs. I went with XL in both. The sizing guide told me I should be a large in both but I’m a powerlifter as well and have huge quads and big upper back so it makes a large a littler snugger than I would like. I like to be able to move in my stuff not have it tight to the point where it looks good but it’s uncomfortable. I’m ok if there is a little bit of bag in the clothing that’s how I wear all my stuff. I’m hear for comfort not for looks😂 plus gives me room to put on a could pounds over the years lol

    Thanks for the video - some very good points. I am switching from the fanatic to the incinerator clothes. I just purchased the incinerator jacket. Figured I’d start with that because it’s expensive. Now in fairness the fanatic is warm clothing but it’s very bulky. Climbing a mountain or big hill in that stuff is no fun. Incinerator is nowhere near as bulky and gives you freedom of movement. Now I’m 6’ and 170 lbs. the large fanatic is tight on me for the jacket. The fanatic bibs large fits me well. I bought the incinerator XL. So try them on before you buy. I do wear layers. It was 20 degrees when I went out with the new incinerator jacket the fanatic bibs. I have a good climb to get to my stand but I just go slow. I could go a lot faster but I don’t want to work up a sweat. I don’t zip up anything until I’m in stand and start to feel the cold. I sat from 6:00 am to 5:00 pm. I had plenty of deer around me and the little noise the jacket makes was not an issue at all. I don’t move much when I’ve got deer close either. Anyway I sat from dark to dark (NE PA). Never got cold. Since you mentioned the mittens and I used those for the first time. I have been hunting for a lot of years and I can tell you those are the warmest gloves I have ever worn. And the most practical. The front part of the mittens fold back and inside the mittens are normal fingered gloves which allow for finger dexterity. In cold weather they are the just great. So how good are the incinerator clothes? Today I’m ordering the bibs. That should say everything you need to know. If people read this and decide to make the investment I hope your as happy about the product as I am. So in summary, the clothes are warm, flexible, light and provide great storage for all the toys we hunters seem to carry. If the above was not true I wouldn’t say it was.

    A ten point is a compound crossbow

  • @paulheberling2750
    @paulheberling2750 Год назад

    Been thinking about switching from compound to crossbow. But am leaning away from crossbow. Here’s why: 1. power-stroke is less which seems to lose more fps per increase in arrow mass. 2. Crossbow arrow weight is limited compared to compound. You can always make compound arrows heavier and skinnier with much greater FOC, having access to larger fixed Broadheads, than a crossbows. 3. Compound arrows are not only able to be heavier, but also have higher sectional density being heavier, longer and skinnier. Penetration seems to be won by a combination of momentum primarily drawn from greater mass with high sectional density. Which a compound exceeds a crossbow in. 4. I like dealing with sights and not scopes. 5. I like the challenge to constantly have to practice and have a reason to be physically fit to use. It makes me feel more connected to my weapon. So until crossbows have power strokes that are 25-30 inches and start shooting arrows as long as compounds, I don’t think I’m going to switch and make the investment. I still enjoy crossbows too, but Just thought I’d share.

No time, I work outside so when I'm hunting I like to stay warm and since I've bought my crossbow and popup blind, I've actually been shooting bigger deer so people can say whatever they want. I highly recommend this cross bow! TenPoint isn’t the cheapest cross bow out there but in my opinion it’s awesome quality!!! Has warranty! Mine came with scope basically lined up! All I had to do was tune it for 20 yards and then 40 yards. These bows are in my opinion extremely accurate!
