For touring is good. Just need to install higher windshield. However if you plan to do touring on road only then best buy Vesys 1000, Tracer 9 or Suzuki S1000GX. The reason I buy this 800DE because sometime during touring I see some place that are interesting that are not pave which I like to explore. So for me is 85% on road and 15% off road. So inconclusion, this bike has more touring options which I can explore. However as this bike is taller and heavy, it really take some time to master. So best for you now is go and test as many similar bike as possible before you buy.

Very good job. My question is whether the heat that builds up on the rim can damage the adhesive tape. What kind of adhesive tape did you use? How many kilometres have you done with this modification? Would you do it again? Thank you very much for sharing it with the internet community.
@pbueno2000 Hi, the tape that I used to cover the silicone is normal cloth tape. These tape is very robust. The rear wheel now has 7000km and the front about 2000km. Definitely will do it again but it's better to have tubeless wheels. Thank you for viewing and comment.

@bogdan33hd Hi, thanks for compliments. Buy any L shape valve for tubeless rims. Make sure valve diameter same as your tube rim's hole. Smear some silicone on the valve thread then insert the valve to the rim, nut to secure then silicone around the nut but take care not to cover the valve hole.

Rear use 1 btl, front use half. So need 2 btl. If do both together then can do thicker. So balanced front to use on the rear.

Ya. Is all good. Tubeless conversion 5K plus km already. and now recently change tire again to Pirelli Scorpion Str. Which is good also Tire is free which part of recalled for the stock dunlop tire.

Yes. 12v 2pin sumitomo connecter inside seat behind rear brake light. Accessible by removing a few screws cover. 12v 3pin sumitomo connector below headlamp. Its meant for spot light. Positive, negative & high beam wire. Accessible by removing tank cover, side panel, front panel. Screws, bolts and plastic pin on. Pls join the group telegram. I have posted there, locations and the types of connector.

Ya.. have thought of that. Don't think is a problem to insert a tube. However need to remove the tubeless valve which can be done easily. Once rim repaired, I think need to redo the silicone as it's possible that the tube damage it.
@fei3001 ohhh, right, the valves need to be taken out, well it's seems straightforward. The only concern would be the extra work, especially if yer alone on a trail 🤣
Hi! I made the same procedure in my F800GS back in 2020. I rode 35.000km so far with zero problems. My next bike will be the Vstrom 800DE and I will use windscreen adhesive instead, it is lighter than the PU sealant. 👍🏻 Good job!
Great idea. I was wanted to use high heat silicone which is for engine gasket which is much cheaper than 3M 5200.

Nice Modifications. With longer M8 Screws and Spacers you could have used the 2 top oriented Bolts of the original top rack also.

May I ask if you installed the centre stand by yourself? If so, how did you do it? The manual says you have to remove the side stand to mount the centre stand. So I think you need either a second person to hold the bike or an additional rear stand...
The center stand installed by workshop. However in Telegram group there is some that bought OEM stand and installed themselves. If you want to DIY I suggest you fit in bobbin and use a paddock stand so that you may not need a 2nd person.
Or you could tie handle bar's to the shed roof trusses like I did

Not so sure. Normally these had to be change by authorized service center otherwise warranty void.

Well.. its just another 3 months. I waited for 6 months for either Vstrom or Transalp. Singapore has Honda Transalp but Malaysia don't have until now. However glad that I have the Vstrom as it more versatile than the Transalp.
I love how you sprayed away most of the yellow. One of the biggest drawbacks for me was the yellow, even though the colorway was already pretty good. Thank you for the idea.
Thanks. However because is rubber paint, it will get scratch easily. Especially off road. But can spray again easily too.

You can get it from sunny cycle. Top and bottom crash bar cost less then myr2500
