    I have an 02 Blazer ZR2 4x4 w/ the G80 300,000 miles & love it. It's a great locker & locks up hard! Very low speed. They are like $500! I didn't even know I had one in mine until I pulled the diff. I seen the codes in my glove box but I had to verify. Very little metal shavings also.

    Thanks for putting this out there. I plan on installing short headers with true duel exhaust with an "H" pipe crossover. Engineers say the installation of the short headers, not the long headers, and the "H" pipe will significantly increase torque.

    I mean feel free to drive like you stole it like that, that's fine. Yet be prepared to pay for it, even racers realize what they are doing on the track means parts are going to prematurely wear out an they will have to replace them early. This is just known fact.

    Your not supposed to do burnouts its for 4x4 and to get out off mud ice or a slippery boat ramp so you got what you deserve 😏

    2005 xterra offroad auto, driving in and out of 4H at highway speeds 60-65mph all the time on snow/ice covered (2" or less) highways. That the benefit of on the fly 4x4. You don't have to stop to shift in or out of 4x4. No locking of wheel hubs or having to back up to disengage. 4L you have to stop Neutral to be able to shift in or out of 4L.

    One of the many reasons I have a hard time buying a gm truck. I would much much rather have a selectable diff lock. Heck I’d rather have a limited slip than a g80.

  • @DRTMaverick

    This is an 11 year old post, but if anyone was reading all the comments below and is curious about the speed, you can switch into and out of 4Hi on a 2nd gen Xterra (2005-2015) at a maximum speed of 62mph. You are limited to 31mph in 4lo due to gearing (you'll explode your transfercase if you go 40-50mph in 4lo).

  • @AverageReviewsYT
    @AverageReviewsYT 4 года назад

    Lesson learned for him.. Now go buy an actual locker.. Not some lsd that restricts u to low speed spins. It's meant to be babied.. Which off roaring isn't.. Go watch TFL where they try to go up a gravel pay and the g80 keeps overheating and disengaging lol.. Junk.. Just buy a locker

    So, I just bought a 2013 chevy 1500 z71. One of the first comments i heard, was that i bought a pos, and my drive line will grenade on me. He said it happened to his. Now I know how he did it! Haha.. I love my truck, so far so good anyway :)

    • @drwombat
      @drwombat 3 года назад

      will continue to be so long as you dont dog it. everyone who calls these POS's has not taken care of them even the ones with engine oil drinking problems they got that way from lack of regular timely oil changes and research on the vehicle that would've afforded them the technology to disable the the GM VLOM/AFM system with a tuner
