I met 'The Dark' in the 90s whilst serving in Belfast as a soldier. The strange thing was, at the time, he was surrounded by comrades who were also touts. So after 30 yrs of armed struggle , promising to remove British rule of Northern Ireland , the IRA through Sinn Fein , sign up to the GFA and therefore accept the principle of consent , therefore recognising the 6 county state , the Queen as their head of state and that the status quo could not change without the consent of the majority on both sides of the border. Please tell me what the hell was the point of the so called armed struggle , they should have listened to John Hume and accepted the Sunningdale agreement instead of wasting everyone's time and particularly lives over the next 30 yrs .
