SEEKING SHELTER | A very windy wildcamp!

Think Tom Hanks and Castaway.........
On.this wildcamp I headed to the Scottish coast to try and dodge the gale force winds. I suceeded to an extent and picked up a camping buddy on the beach to joon my party for one.... enter Wilson 😀
I had good laugh on this camp and its a beautiful area. Sadly, Wilson was left behind but he promised to keep in touch 🤣 Hope you enjoy it! Kerry x

Hi everyone! In August 2024 I walked the St Cuthberts way from Melrose in Scotland to Lindisfarne in England. It was EPIC but a wrong choice of shoes resulted in agonising walking from day 2 of this 4 day walk! But being stubborn as a mule I was determined to finish what I started. Hello! On this little overnighter I hike up to The Schill in The Cheviots, Northumberland to wildcamp on the English/Scottish border. Hello This little overnight adventure takes me to a forgotten hill in Northumberland which provided the perfect wildcamping pitch and views! I have tried to get up there on two previous occassions, the first attempt prevented by a massive deer fence and the second scuppered by a stream in spate. Third time was definately the charm! It was a lush morning! She is more of a home bird so its always a priviledge when she decides to venture out 😀
Landed unlucky with the weather. Wild is always better lol. 1 day I'll twist my daughters arm to go. Not the same now, the kids. I loved outdoors, not a care in the world.
@nightsinthewild haha my daughter kacey loves the outdoors, climbing camping, you name it, love it. She loves newcastle shoping too, rinsed Mr for £200 clothes and sol jerero on sunday😪

@nightsinthewild oooh posh, my last lakelamd stop over was in a dig friendly hotel, "the Derwent water" a stones throw from Keswick and it meant I could bring my dog Hamish, reasonable price, great food, the room was OK, clean, I just think the flight friendly rooms aren't as plush, just incase 💩. Look forward to see your next stealth one, give me the inspiring push I need, cheers

@nightsinthewild I live in the region and never knew about it until quite recent tbf lol. It's a lovely region like. What region you from? I guessed by accent that it's kinna Newcastle way. If so, did you drive for 1 night camp or was there more to it?
@@granthyslop4404 yeah I live at the coast. Geordie. I had two nights around there but ai have drove over to the Mull for one night before. I often chase the best of the weather and dont mind a drive 😀
@nightsinthewild jeez woman, you defo don't mind a drive. The weather part ill take as sarcasm 😂. Ima look at getting into hiking once I can walk properly again and maybe attempt the SUW fae stranraer over towards you. Don't want it to take 12 days or more tho

Well done you getting out in the wild weather, I would have binned it, scurried home and hid under my duvet! I think the pitch you got was the best you could expect and great to see the wind not stopping you and Wilson having a great party and you maintaining the party spirit on the way back to the car. Really enjoyed this. Something I would like to do. Good idea to visit Durham to end. It's hard to go to st cuthberts cave without crowds. When I last went there was a group of American hikers, so loud. Must be great to have your four leggy walking mate. Thanks for sharing.
