I just recently got into making videos about Soulsborne games, I would love to do more in the future.

The True Size of the Elden Ring Map, or: Don't Trust Everything You Read on the Internet
What’s bigger, Limgrave or a corn farm?
Could a stadium fit inside Placidusax’s arena?
How big would a Lands Between Lego set be?
I’m sure that these very important questions have been weighing heavily on everyone’s mind, so of course I had to do a deep dive into the geography of the Lands Between (and the Land of Shadow) to find the answers once and for all.

How Big is the Architecture in Elden Ring? (Real World Comparisons)
Просмотров 816 тыс.3 месяца назад
Have you ever wondered how deep does the Siofra Well goes? Whether the Shadow Keep is taller than a skyscraper? How much turkey could you fry in the Forge of the Giants? Credits to @MoxieWatts and @Banuune for figuring out the connection between Raya Lucaria and the Aachen Cathedral! All the measurements have been taken in Smithbox: github.com/vawser/Smithbox ► Timestamps: 00:00 Intro 00:43 Lim...
The Meaning of Every Armored Core 6 Emblem

Link to Part 1: ruclips.net/video/t-ZwO4U1i-4/видео.html I initially planned on a very different video that tangentially touched on the meaning of some of the emblems, but the more I researched, the more I found that basically every emblem and AC name in the game has some cool meaning or hidden reference behind it. ►Timestamps: 00:00 Intro 00:55 Vespers I 03:02 Rusty 05:42 Vespers II 08:14 Bala...

The Meaning Behind Armored Core 6 Names
Просмотров 114 тыс.Год назад
Let's find out together about the origins and meaning of all (well, most of) the names used in Armored Core 6. Because of course our favorite thing about From Software games is when they make up absurd names from the most obscure sources, right? What do you mean, "I don't care?" Too bad, I'm still spending an inordinate amount of time looking everything up and then making a video about it anywa...
Sekiro's Map Layout Explained
Просмотров 283 тыс.Год назад
Let’s take a close look at how the Ashina Lands fit together. How accurate is the positioning of the various areas as seen from afar? How the hell did that door lead to the Senpou Temple? Is the antique map really that useless? And most importantly, is it animal abuse to use a giant serpent as a ruler? ►Timestamps: 00:00 Intro 00:39 Ashina Outskirts 05:32 Ashina Castle 10:25 Senpou Temple 13:02...
extremely well done video
I think it's a fun exercise to try and calculate these types of things, though it is kinda pointless. Open Worlds in games are always drastically scaled down to make the game actually playable and not have you ride 5 days on your horse to get through Limgrave. I think this is the same in Elden Ring where things should be a lot further apart than they seem in the gameplay. Baldurs Gate 3 (though not really an open world title) actually made this very obvious with some dialogue/gameplay discrepancies where the goblins in act 1 were unable to locate the druids grove. Gameplay wise it was a 3 minute walk from their camp. In actuality it would've been a 2-3 day march from one side of act 1 to the other.
wow amazing
so ironic, he complains about how the first figure is a ballpark estimate that includes water and areas not playable. then goes on to calculate it without doing dungeons and other playable areas, and then ballparks it himself lol
6:14 i remember trying to get to upper hallway over and over again. Kinda disappointed now
The sense of scale in Elden Ring has always felt off to me. Being able to see the Forge of the Giants from Limgrave makes the journey feel small, and the Erdtree constantly being visible makes all the scenery feel small in comparison. Nothing ever felt as grand as seeing Lothric castle take up the whole screen in DS3
Hey man not sure if you knew this but your background music you got playing is from the hit AAA masterpiece "the hollow knight" not sure if its copyright
I was really doubting some of these numbers thinking no way. Until I realised I can't math. 1 square kilometre is NOT 1000 square metres, it's 1,000,000 square metres. So the siofra river being 0.479 km² is 479,000m².... here i was thinking, how is this thing the size of a regular plot of land.
Tell me about it man, I had to double and triple check my numbers hundreds of times, and for circular areas I kept mistaking radii and diameters 😅
I still think the game is too big, if you go for 100% it's quite a bit of work
Who cares tho
12:47 reckon I'd rather fight Placidusax than an angry Vladimir Coufal
Man I love these kinda video.
Deleting the second half of your title will probably increase click through rate and help your SEO

insanely well made video, you are a legend
the amount of work that went into this video is crazy, I think you gained a sub my dude
modern day journalism is just plagiarism. are you really surprised that they all ran the story without doing any work?
great content
That’s what, um, that what umm, I’m, never mind.
I've been trying to relate the DLC area to the main game ever since finding the Suppressing Pillar. Thanks for including that part in an already amazing, detailed and easy to follow vid.
13:04 we are building wonders for no one to visit, just to show them on camera? I prefer the old ones in that case :)
no way ER is smaller than GTA V the ER is massive, i can travel for hours.
That's what she said.
Could you do an actual map size comparison between games. there isnt a single youtube video that compares them realistically nor that scales them realistically
You can make map size even bigger if you will show more ocean around the island... It can be even a million square kilometers if the island will be visualized as a dot.
Well these 15km are sooo fucking vig because of how much content they have in every meter of it
this was one of the best composed and articulate conceptual videos and put together i’ve ever seen. all the graphics and everything and research done and the scaling down w the lego analogy. so very completely well done. amazing bravo
A reason why the 2 maps don't fit can be because time has passed for thousand of years. The movement of the tectonic plates create and destroy moutain/landmark and the increase/decrease of the sea level may create more or take away more landmass. So after long period of time, they are no longer fit. The Realm of Shadow map may be much smaller before the separation but after more landmass were revealed, people there started to build on those and those become habitable. About the Deeproot Depth. They have done something similar in DS3 but this one is on the grander scale. In dark souls 3. After you beat the Abyss Watcher, you are travsersing through a catacomb and going deep down multiple level with some up and down. When you come out of the catacomb you see the beautiful Irithyll Valley right before your eyes and on the right side, you see where the previous level/elevation is on the mountain/cliff. It give the sense that you have descended to the. deepest part. Even when you are in Lothric catsle or in Undead Settlement (previous level) you can already see Irithyll way below. However it turned out, the elevation you come out from the Catacomb of Carthus is about the same as in the Abyss Watcher boss room. It is in one of Illusory Wall video about DS3 level design. When I get to the Deeproot Depth through Leyndell. It was really feel like I reached to the bottom of the planet. However with the knowledge of that video I realized that we may have not been that deep. I believed the length of the descend was about the same as the elevator in Mistwood and Leyndell was way higher so it should be around ground level of Limgrave. Then I used cheat engine for free pathing and yea we was at the foot of the tree, not the "root". This feel so awesome regardless. Very nice trick. If it was to be really at the foot of the tree, there would be no light reaching the Catherald of the Forsaken and Deeproot Depth at all and everything would be pitch black (or having a false sky).
He is him❤
Tbh I always thought that the change to open world in elden ring didn't make a huge difference compared to dark souls. The biggest difference is that you can run past more bosses and dungeons, but how the world is structured is really similar to the standard souls Formula. In DS3 you can also see most of the map after you kill vordt, it's all connected. I like the slight increase in openness since it helps with the feeling of being hard stuck at a boss but the game itself really isn't what I would call open world in a Zelda botw or GTA sense. It's more a step back to the roots of how DS1 areas were creatively connected, while increasing the scale even more than DS3. I think the DLC does an even better job at this.
Are you italian?
that AI voice is horrendous
Elden Ring is so overrated.
Do the same for Cyberpunk 2077. I think its scale is very off, and people often compare it to GTA V's map, claiming it's bigger than Los Santos.
Mmmmm, the Hollow Knight OST is so great!
Elden Ring with Zelda climbing mechanic would be nice
the middle is nightreign
I've got Flying Wings mod. You should recalculate. 😀
Bro it's a decently sized game and for all of yous thinking its tiny I'd like to see you walk the whole game with no horse
See but what I'm wondering tho, the constructs are big even compared to irl but is the whole thing really up to scale. Now it could be an illusion but the capital looks more like a walled neighbourhood. Earth is on another scale from constructs. Also the amount of them. Checked a city real quick and a 280k city had a radius of about 5km.
That's What She Said!
Amateur Hbomb here calling out plagiarism and I AM SO HERE FOR IT.
yoooooo they finally did it
Incredible work, just like in the previous video. Thank you!
2:10 That's actually not true. BOTW has an entire continent outside of the traversable area and is surrounded by a circle of water. The total land spans (diagonally) over 40km, and the ocean is 55km in diameter. Traversable area is only 10km x 8km.
Your mom is smaller than we thought too
So how many km2 is it?
16:37 YOU CAN DO THAT????
Excellent video, and I love your voice!
Things need to be a little bigger in games because of basic game design rules. For these same reasons, you can't have real life sized doors in video games. It doesn't work properly.
