Not all pistons will contact the valves if your belt breaks

Some people may may check if this is a clearance engine or not if it is re time put new belt on check timing and your right to go

You can also do a quick search on the internet to see if your engine is an "interference" engine. If it is, valves are bent.

Catch cans only purpose is to prevent oil vapors [hydrocarbons] from the PCV’s from being sucked into the intake system and thus the combustion chamber. This allows for a much cleaner combustion.

I learned similar back in 1978. (46 years ago) A few good bashes with a lump hammer and you can take that off with Vice grips. A few more careful hits and you can even get those nuts off a custom wheel without damage.

I find using a long 1/2” ratchet is better than the impact. Impact is more likely to slip off like the first attempt in the video. But if they are really stuck I use the air hammer with a pointed chisel.

What about the hose that’s center to right side of the head that looks like it’s missing a clamp AND it’s too big for the male ends. It just sitting there barely making connection. Unless I seen it wrong which is possible, and idk what care this is and I’m a very uneducated car guy, but that doesn’t look right either.

plugging the “dipstick” oil extraction tube did not change the way the motor was running and would also not cause misfires you probably have a pcv issue with this TFSI

The crankcase should not have vacuum pressure check the PCV diaphragm on top of the valve cover. That is most likely how vacuum pressure is present in the crankcase. And get a new dipstick.

well never trust the shop when they tell you without double check it by yourself or with a different shop. once i got a shop tell me i need to change the axel because after i hit 60 plus on the freeway the steering wheel started to shake really bad. Turn out all i need is to do some alignment, cus i just change all the new tires for the car.

Pro tip, when putting the caliper back on, replace the top slide pin snug enough to hold itself up in and upward position. Then with it holding itself, replace the small wire clips and rotate the caliper downward and replace the bottom slide pin and tighten everything up! Great job in the video just a small tip to make life easier in my experience haha.

That's a bad case of someone trying to do brakes for a friend deal. Ummm they fucked up and didn't torque those caliper bolts down. Whoops!

I’m no ASE certified mechanic but if you take a look at the top of the caliper it’s missing those two bolts, take a look at the bottom it’s got two bolts that are sticking halfway out. I would say tighten those up after looking at the pads for normal wear and put two new bolts in the top and it should brake like new.
