Yet Kerry and his over-blown ego have continued to benefit from a faculty position in PT education and has done precious little to call out the profession and its bro culture that has promoted this shyte.
Because PT is a fake profession populated by doctor wannabes whose organizational structure resembles a cult. It looks appealing from the outside looking in for potential students, but grads soon find out the hard way that the profession is an imposter posing as legitimate. Once that reality sets in and they come to understand how crappy the research is, how little evidence supports what they do, how effectiveness of interventions is no better than placebo, then those crushing student debts start to take their toll. Run fast away from this cult and choose a real, grownup profession.
I can't sit or lay on my left side. It's been over 7 years, and it's gradually getting worse. I recently learned it was tendinosis. How can I get help? This seems so rare, I don't know anyone with it, specifically what I have. Also, I'm 63, and the pain is not in my hips, no pain with walking, or standing no pain typically, but I am still aware of the feeling in my left glute when standing even, it just isn't painful then. Otherwise, pretty much everything else causes pain.
It's a scam regardless of country.
If physical therapists were so good patients wouldnt be so bad
The NIH heal initiative is the biggest and most promising research project that has been going on for about ten years and will/is coming close to having quantifiable biomarkers and imaging for pain. It has nothing to do with Lorimer Moseley or Australia.
Amazing not many people discuss Tendinopathy
Cool

Thanks for the video! Really full of valuable info :) Karin mentioned that it makes sense to keep heel raises for 1 year after the pain is gone. What about hopping/jumping - does it make sense (and to what extemt if yes) to keep it in routine after returning to running?
@@Yatzlaff great question! I would suggest you reach out to her directly!! You can find her contact info on the show notes!!
Thank you for this. I have been continuously told to build my core and ignored when I said I can't because it causes spasms. Now after 13 years of issues including motor weakness in my left and loss of sensation, my back finally went in June. As soon as I told my story to a neurosurgeon they immediately sent me for an MRI and nuclear medicine bone scan looking for a lesion. Sure enough modic 1 showed up, I also have nerve impingement in my entire lumbar and mild crowding of the cauda equina. I wish doctors were better educated so it did not get to this point.
I couldn't get rid of insertional Achilles pain , should i just load very heavy?

Hello, and thank you so much for sharing, finally, an answers to my horrible pain. Its hard to get a good answer from health care providers as they are not exsperts like Hanne. EVERYTHING she said is spot on. Especially the part about the pain being so severe that I cant eat dinner with my family most evenings. So again ,thanks so much for sharing.

Great podcast! Thanks Mariana. Love listening to Peter O'Sullivan talk about his approach to pain. Curious - how come the title and description of the video talks about how the video is about running?

I have Modic Type 1... I did 100 Days of Antibiotics ...WASTE OF TIME... now it's Epidurals and OXCY
did the epidurals and oxcy help?

Is there a non profit organisation that provides jobs for Physical therapists?
In 2002-2003 I had primary specialisation in Neurology. And one if my colleagues, Yuri Gavrilov, recommended me to Sergey Dzhumayev. Sergey Dzhumayev was a specialist with the high education in sports. The name of his specialty was "instructor-methodologist of curative physical culture" (don't ask me why it sounds so complicated) and had a profound experience in home-rehab from 90s. He also was on of those who in 80s rehabilitated men (with SCI, TBI, after amputations) who took part in war in Afganistan... Dzhumayev was not a DOCTOR but he was the key person, Root Teacher (I use tibetan buddhism terminology here) who showed us the true POWER of physical therapy! Dzhumayev established a rehab-team for the Medical Center "XXI Century". I and some other doctors (general practitioners, orthopedic surgeons, neurologists) were part of his team that time (2000 - 2009). Sergey Dzhumayev turned 65 this year, he is impressively active professionally and created a lot of rehab-teams for different rehab-centers.
I remember these crazy times...2004 - 2010. In state hospitals (in St. Petersburg - second big city of Russia after Moscow) we could see people after stroke, SCI, TBI; people with Parkinsons, multiple sclerosis and other severe neurological conditions having ALL possible complicatios because of absence of PHYSICAL MANAGEMENT and proper PHYSICAL THERAPY. Lowest level of care and physiotherapy. Terrible ignorance! Contractures, pressure sores, deep vein thrombosis, pulmonary embolism, (aspirational) pneumonias, cystitis, pyelonephritis... Health care system looked like (consciously?) created to eliminate old people with comorbidities not to pay them pensions and not to be responsible for this "socially useless thrash"... Social eugenics, russian version.
So is doing isometrics or slow heavy resistance without compression essentially using a resistance band, in most cases? I'm assuming that without compression means without the weight of the body on the tendon
I don't know the context of this piece, but over here in America we are experiencing a level of corruption and internal dissonance that is mind boggling. And much of our people is uneducated or wrongly educated, with very little historical and civic knowledge. The USA made over 2 trillion dollars in exports in the year 2022 alone. How is Russia making nearly 3 trillion off oil/gas in 20 years anything excessive or "enough"? Much of America doesn't have central sewage as well...I am a DPT living in a blue state with a septic tank as are my neighbors for miles. I don't understand what this is trying to prove...
@@tooxtreme55 if you watch the whole episode I believe would understand better what Yury is trying to say. PTs salaries range from $500 to $900 a month. He is trying to show the impact of corruption in people’s lives and their ability to make a living for themselves. At least that is what I understood. Very different from the reality in the US where even with corruption people can work and live decent lives.
Thank you so much for this :) great video!
LOL, she makes no sense. Nothing adds up. Sounds suspicious. Validates too much.
Great video 👏 your content is valuable and it's clear you put lot of effort to make videos like this . However I notice that your thumbnail may not be fully capturing attention they deserve . As a professional thumbnail designer, I work with channels like Dr. Tanvi Mayur Patel (361k), Dr. Sahaj Joshi (215k), and Healthy Forever (77k). With optimized thumbnails, I believe your videos could reach a broader audience. I'd love to assist in enhancing your channel’s visual presence. Looking forward to your response ☺️
I’m sorry but this is nonsense. Lots of sophisticated language no actual content. Glorified massage therapist mobilising upper cervical joints selling something. C2-3 is s symptom of weak paraspinal extensors especially(lower), rotatores and flexors. Strengthen these deep muscles back to full function and the SCM, scalenes etc and other outer muscles will relax. You can often see this fatty atrophy in MRI scans in chronic patients. “It keeps coming back That’s the reality of life”, this guy is a charlatan and a fraud
Great explanation, great study! This results can be extrapoled in case of quadriceps tendinopathy?
Hi Victor! I believe so - patellar tendon! It would be great to confirm with Dr. Scattone!
