007 Alternatives to Push Up Dams
Просмотров 1966 лет назад
For 150 years, Oregon farmers and ranchers have been finding ways to move water from where it's found to where it's needed. Historically, that has often meant putting a tractor in a stream bed and pushing up gravel to make a temporary dam during irrigation season. For years this was a practical way for irrigators to obtain "water rights", even while realizing it was far from being the best way ...

008-1 Private Well Protection: Introduction
People sometimes talk about how saying a word too often makes it stop feeling real. I feel like this one did the opposite. Weir feels more like a word than it did previously.
Does this mean that using gravel at the bottom of planters promotes good drainage?
It is a good introduction to surface irrigation. The format used is appreciable- i.e., understandable. More lecture notes are required to help acquire knowledge to design surface irrigation. So, include videos of headworks, canals and canal structures designs.
Thank you for posting this! Fantastic information.
Thank you for such scientific and full information! What do you think about polyethylene tanks instead of steel? We are trying to produce it
24:28 It seems that the Clay particles can actually be too small, whereas Silt is the Goldilocks of particles for capillary action ruclips.net/video/5waNTa2b-yg/видео.html
Seriously is there something that won't trigger trauma response in Gen-X?
Thank you for this information, very useful and helpful
Glad it was helpful!
This video SCREAMS 1995 to me.
Surprised to know it didnt feel like 80s to you
lmao

6:57 DAT transition! I love it! Also the outro music, it's got soul!
Crop plants maintain a "rhizosphere", or a concentrated area of microbial activity close to the root. The rhizosphere is the most active part of the soil ecosystem because it is where the most readily available food is, and where peak nutrient and water cycling occurs. Microbial food is exuded by crop roots to attract and feed microbes that in turn provide nutrients (and other compounds) to the plant at the root-soil interface where the plants can take them up. Since living roots provide the easiest source of food for soil microbes, growing long lived roots that feed the foundation species of the soil food web as much as possible during the growing season should be a goal of farmers seeking a productive and profitable crop. Roots associated with SWRT membranes have been shown to last all season long, contributing greatly to the improvement of soil quality because they have the nutrients and moisture they need.
Thanks
Good
great
My MS thesis "Flexible Case Management for the Implicit Solution to Border Irrigation." It was important to improve the CFD - computational fluid dynamics - to model and predict irrigation uniformity in level border irrigation. Dr. Strelkoff's modeling, before my work, resulted in computational instability when the water was down about 3/4 of the way down, especially for claying soils.
Before my MS, I worked for SCS for three summers. The last summer was at the Welton - Mohawk Saliity Project, near Yuma, AZ. We had many level borders that we designed.
Near the end of the summer, we learned that ARS was automating some of our borders.

good video
it's very informative video,thanks
that's not soil, it is dirt
Soil is the correct term.
Thanks I've been needing this broken down for better understanding with gardening
