Terrifying solo overnighter // Wolves, bears, and Negative temps
Просмотров 1,3 тыс.Месяц назад
Solo overnighter deep in the wilderness. This was a strange night from the get-go. I saw fresh bear tracks a mile from camp. The strange thing is bears this time of yearcare not up. They are in full hibernation. Then, as the darkness had fully sent in a pack of wolves was barking and howling about 100 yards from my campsite. If that wasn't frightening enough, they returned in the early morning ...

    Hey Buddy, it takes some planning to find good spots. There is nothing worse than not doing the recon and getting to a spot and not having any good camp sites.

    • @Truckerjonsoutdoors
      @Truckerjonsoutdoors 11 дней назад

      That is a fact. finding new places to camp is fun. As you stated, recon is needed sometimes. I have done recon on places that were labeled campgrounds but ended up just being a boat landing.

    It's hard to find a winter campsite. Those primitive ones are available as there's nothing to them. #1 would be my choice. The old cabin looked like the roof collapsed. I saw you write about it possibly been haunted. Yeah, who knows. However, it looked the pits. Scouting around is a good idea for a new location. Take along your son for the campout, maybe.

    • @Truckerjonsoutdoors
      @Truckerjonsoutdoors 15 дней назад

      It did look like the roof was collapsed. The old cabin gave me a creepy vibe. It may not be haunted. You ever look at a place and feel like something is looking back at you. That was the feeling I had. I would like it if my son came camping with me. Campsite #1 is a nice spot. I hope to get a campout in soon.

  • @agesadventures

      The music was Ai generated. That old cabin gave me the creaps. If it isn't haunted, it sure should be. those camping spots have me a bit excited. I really hope to get out to use them before heavy sbow comes.

      That is great news. I am super happy to hear she is gaining ground. I believe I am doing better. I am way more active than I was. I don't believe I have another Echo until May. I am looking forward to seeing how much recovery I have. As I said, I am way more active. 4 to 5 months after surgery, I was doing terrible. I was pissed off. I thought they screwed something up. My surgeon told me that when they removed my old leads from my previous pacemaker, it was hard on my heart. He said that in six months' time, I would start feeling better. And He was right I feel considerably better. I look forward to seeing where things go from here. Anyway, you and Connie have been in my thoughts and prayer. Thanks for sharing her result with me.

    Jon, I have to admit, I do worry about you being solo out there so far from cell reception and doing this all solo with the hard work you did to set camp. Please be safe out there.... heart issues, and that kind of work alone is a bit scary. That Deerfamy stove pipe was glowing. I love the look of that thing. It's a nice hot tent stove. I had an egg nog last night. 4 parts eggnog, 1 part amaretto and half part captain morgan spiced rum. It was awesome. Some ice on top. I agree about stew.. It's good for those long nights to keep busy.

      Thanks for stopping by Dan. Your egg nog sounds like it would be delicious. I am definitely more careful with my heart. Sometimes I don't go out just because I know the work I need to do. And I get a bit scared that something could go wrong. But I do love getting out, and I will continue to what I can while I can. I hope you and your family had a good Christmas, and I wish you a successful new year.
