I agree with you. I had the Crumar Dual and I loved it. Much better than the Nord with the exception of the limited drawbars. I ran it through a Leslie Studio 12 and it was amazing.

The basic sound of the B3 engine is OK, but one of the main issues with the overall authenticity is that the reverb turns into mono when using the internal rotary sim. With all other piano and synth layers the reverb is stereo and produces a pretty spacious atmosphere. But when using the "Leslie", only the Leslie effect is stereo but not the reverb. It then sounds narrow, clean and artificial. It would probably be very simple to change this in the software...

I believe we won't see a new YC from Yamaha for at least a couple of years, but I do expect a software update in the future since the older CP series just got one for NAMM. I own a YC61 and very happy with it - never been a Nord guy and never had polyphony issues with Yamaha but I do agree with the lackluster layering on the YC. It has to do with the fact that one layer has to be organ (in the CK it's not the case which is puzzling to me!). So e.g I can't get a dual synth + a synth bass split patch on the YC, or a "salsa" dual pianos and an upright bass split. Aside from not being a fully fledged synth, and the black keys becoming noisy, I would say the layering is the #1 drawback of the YC. Which is kind of a shame because 3 layers is perfect for me, if only you could use them with whatever sound you want.

The Nords absolutely DESTROY all other clones, especially Crumar!😅 that’s just my opinion! The Nord has the most realistic B3 sound. And the Crumar does not have realistic drawbars. They just don’t. Don’t kid yourself into believing the Crumar is better because it was cheaper. It does not sound better than any of the Nords bro. Stop 🤦🏾‍♂️

It’s cool if you have scads of money, but realistically not many people are buying this. I have the C2D. I’ll be keeping it.😅

I'd say that Yc should keep being a strong competitor to Electro series (it can beat it easily), as CP series compete with Piano... and I would launch CS series to compete with Stage series

I just got a YC88 to play with...I believe their last software update was v1.4 several months ago...if they came out with a new YC, it'd definitely pack a punch....(I got a famtom 8 as my main board) and love it....😊

My YC61 is all I need, and when I get that pedalboard, I am going to be totally satisfied. #NordKiller

I think the first YC from Yamaha was more of a proof of concept. I think the YC will be updated eventually and it will be a huge one esp with Roland's move with the V-Stage

Great board. I own it along with a CP88. But YC 88 has a serious polyphony problem when layering. FM engine is top notch.

Yamaha has the CP88 for the weighted action. I want a YC88 with waterfall action. The only keyboard right now that comes close to that is the rinky dinky Studiologic Numa Compact X SE.

1)I'd like them to have some string resonance!! Surprised they don't, given that Yamaha has such in other products. Make it an option to turn it off! 2) Have a library to choose from. I like some of Yamaha sounds better then Nord, but it's nice to have a bigger choice. 3) Yamaha does samples pretty well, so this one wont appeal to as many people, but we see in their small reface CP that they DO modelling, and quite well!! But the reface doesnt have access to the parameters. I'd personally love a board (not sure if ANY hardware has this) that has BOTH samples AND modeling for all the struck piano sounds (acoustic piano, Rhodes/Wurli/Clav, mallet sounds, music box) WITH access to the various parameters, not just for editing then leaving, but also playing in real time. 4) a 73 option but with a keybed optimized for organ.

In terms of skill progression and everyday playing is there much benefit in the 25? I'm a decently skilled pianist so I can learn fairly fast

Hello friends and fellow musicians! For all those who consider the "Legend One" as a competitor or alternative to the "Nord Electro" - don’t flatter yourself. I'll explain why. I’ll say right away - I’m not a “NORD boy”, I myself am the owner of Legend 70’s and I adore it. But I’ll be objective here. Legend One has a strong organ section, but the rest of the sounds leave much to be desired, especially the Pianos and EPs wich are STRIPPED-DOWN which are "neither fish nor meat". On the contrary, Nord Electro is a very integral instrument where everything is balanced. If VISCOUNT borrowed from the EP and A.Piano modules from Legend '70s and implemented in Legend One (if it had been technically possible to implement it) then it would have been a completely different conversation, it would have been a totally different animal))) Then this could be called a real full-fledged professional stage instrument! But so, today we have what we have...

If the pianos and electric pianos can compete with the Nord, this might make me finally sell my Electro 5d 73. Viscount is the only company I consider to have better Hammond tone than Nord so it comes down to the other keyboard sounds for me. I'm also not crazy about the feel of the Nord's keys, so that could be a factor too. Finally, this is going to be a way better midi controller than any Electro. Why they don't put pitch and mod wheels on their instruments is a frustrating limitation - they make you go up to the Stage series for that which feels extortionate.

I was ready to think "this might be the right board for me to sell what I have and upgrade, but apparently VISCOUNT has decided to go with samples for their non-organ keyboard sounds!!! This being a company that, as far as I'm concerned, has been doing well enough in this department with their modelling that they've been doing a decade plus with Physis and now with their weighted-keys 70's line. With their organ, one of the best, their modelled sounds (acoustic piano; E.Ps; even a quite expressive and pleasing upright bass!), something with all that under the hood, and this interface, that would really appeal to me as a top or middle board. I will, for sure, keep my ear open to their demos and when customers start posting of it. They decided to go samples, maybe they are very proud of them.

My question is the dimensions given seem off on both boards 18 in deep doesn’t seem right on both 9 in in height also not realistic length on both when compared to nord stage and electro doesn’t make sense unless the keys are wider stage compact is 43 in It appears to be only an inch or 2 wider same legend 73 with electro 36 compared to 40 for the 61

Which Board are you choosing as the winner ?

To get a good comparison of the tone/s you need to turn off the leslie/vibrato sim on both organs and compare the tone of each drawbar individually.
