You're focused on short-term minor improvement to a long-term problem. This doesn't provide any solution to the real problem for why living costs are so expensive in the first place. Looking at the problem and throwing money at it only allows them to cover those cost until very shortly the living cost increases again because you just keep throwing money at problems. The amount of spending is the problem. This is just a look at me bill as you dodge the issue when you need to cut spending across the board so that non just firefighters can afford living but all who protect and serve. companies like alldata offer repair manuals for fairly cheap, and anyone can buy a subscription. Car shops normally have a full subscription to all models. Taking it even further, companies like Ford sell access to their updates directly, as a DIYer. A ford FDRS subscription gives me access to the same tools the dealership has. I don't think cars are more disposable, people are just unwilling to learn to do things themselves, and are too broke to take it to a shop for small issues, so they drive them into the ground with poor maintenance and let those small issues compound into huge repairs.

I am so disenfranchised by politics but Marie gives me hope :) It is so refreshing to see someone young with common sense that is willing to reach across the aisle.
