Get Perfect Dripping Slimy Text
Around Halloween, slimy text turns into a thing. It's also a thing to use when selling some foods, drinks, sauces and maybe toys. This is a fun technique that's great to have in your pocket. If you learn this, you learn lots about what strokes can do, how to manage warp effects, and how to use Direct Selection and bevel points to your advantage.

Do you know how I could make the stripes in the gradient curve with the distortion? i.e. make striped gradient follow a ribbon or something like that

If I'm reading your question properly, be sure your shape is the top object. "Right Click-Arrange-Bring to Front."

You're welcome! When making 2D design changes, you need to edit the piece, then open the symbol for that side (double-click on it)... or you can open the symbol and edit that on-the-fly. If you have any questions, feel free to shout!
