I can’t buy that an space faring people would not know about atoms, I mean wtf? Why do these stories keep using our primitive bombs as if they are some off shoot science and not the natural conclusion to any spieces scientific evolution, not to mention there are far more effective weapons than nukes once your in space… you authors might as well harp on our fucking guns, atleast they are somewhat novel. But, I have no way of knowing whether or not others see it the same way. For example, I see the last moment of the first story, as the first moment of creation, not for us, but for someone else.
