The ministry has done a superb job renovating and recreating the buildings and vibe in Al-Balad. The fact that they have local artisans and artisan interns is really cool, too. I first lived in Jeddah 40 years ago and far too many of the old coral foundation buildings were in very poor repair and falling down. Earlier this year some Saudi friends and I went down and THEY were blown away with how well it had been done. It really is impressive what has been accomplished!👏

Amazing footage man, captures the beauty of it all so well. I'm currenlty working on recreating Albalad in 3D for my final university project, i'd love to use the footage to feed it into a neural network to construct it using AI. Id be happy to share alll the 3d files, results and credit you in the research. Just the raw mp4 or Avi file if you still have it on hand. Keep these videos up. they're a great insite to these places that not everyone can visit.
