In my senior year, one of my friends accidentally leaked our schools GoogleAPI key on GitHub and it caused a whole data breach.

I did a JS project before college where the API .js file was not committed to repo. Instead I made a miniature prompt modal that says, "Lookin for API pass...."

This is a brain dead take. 65k is pre COVID levels. If anything, Covid and not going to an office will inflate participation. Stack overflow is not going anywhere

Why do they put Keys on GitHub?

For my experience, it is similar to all industries. 20 people are only happy and they also take a risk of bringing out new tech/ methodologies/ reports, only sad part is that they have to sacrifice few bigger things in order to achieve that.

I'm in the 20% upper management collapsed my personal life to squeeze more work out of me. My mental health was destroyed and shockingly no one is happy now so they are trying to get rid of me. Worst part I've still been making amazing things for them. Its just they wasted all of my time until my passions died. I'm still depressed that my RUclips channel fizzled out. Some of my revolutionary ideas were used and integrated without me getting credit. I made people billions yet am struggling myself to stay afloat.
