Yep, there's so many tips techniques and tricks that it's sometimes hard to know where to start. But it's not rocket science to get your man shivering with ecstasy just by changing the way you talk. As simple as this sounds, maybe try escalating it a step at a time, go’ogle something like Words of Desire by Celestine Dessike to sneakily crawl into his mind and let it build on from that.

Here are 10 of my favourites tragic romances: The Fault in Our Stars, by John Green Wuthering Heights, by Emily Brontë Romeo & Juliet, by William Shakespeare (yes, it's a play - yes, it's really good!) Me Before You, by Jojo Moyes The Song of Achilles, by Madeline Miller (yes, I cried!) A Little Life, by Hanya Yanagihara All the Bright Places, by Jennifer Niven I Too Had a Love Story, by Ravinder Singh History is All You Left Me, by Adam Silvera The Love Story, by Erich Segal

Excellent notes. I've jotted them down, and, for inclusion in my fantasy saga debut, I'll be using a tightened up version of them I think. Thank you.

I have just recently decided to try my hand at writing a novel, hopefully more than one. I had been worldbuilding a fantasy world off and on for around 25 years, initially for a homebrew D&D campaign that never came to be. I kept at it as a hobby because I just enjoyed doing it. It had been my own little world, but I didn't want all those uniquely creative ideas to be buried with me. Anyway, before I attempt a novel, I was going to write a backstory novella or novelette for the character planned for the novel. The backstory involves her parents who become involved in a forbidden love scenario and flee the city. It is intended to be a Romantic Tragedy set in a Fantasy setting. While brainstorming the outlines I came up with some scenes that had me in tears, so I think I'm on the right track.

If it moves you, then there's a good chance it will move the reader, too. Just be sure that the novella or novelette isn't a form of procrastination, okay? The best way to start your novel is by... starting your novel ;)
