Congratz. It probably a lot different with a yoke compared to a mouse an keyboard.

Many just pick it up faster than others. I also have been flying on simulators since I was 12.

There is no FAA Requirment(that I know of) where you must have so many hours before soloing.

What was your K/D this game?

I am soloing here in just a few days, and will have 8 or 9 hours.

I soloed in 7.4 hours, and if you don't believe me then contact Exec1 Aviation in Ankeny, IA and ask.

I was lucky, I started out with an Embry-Riddle instructor, and went solo with 6.4 hours in my logbook, and 17 landings under my belt.

You really don't believe me? Funny, because I've been studying planes since I was a kid.

It really depends on the ability of your instructor to teach and how quickly you pick things up.

I went and did a circuit on my own. It's not unheard of. It depends on the confidence of your tutor

Everything was looking good and conditions were perfect which is rare in the UK.

very nice, good job , so are you still flying and get your PPL.Ive had 8 lessons in the piper Pa28 Cherokee, at Northumbria Flying School, then had to pack it all in, due to money issues, i now fly Paraglider.

I did 2 hours of stall practice and one forced landing practice.

I just went solo after 5.5 hours. We went through the exercises very quickly

the camera angle was good too, really captured the intensity via your body language and tension

By the time you flare the engine is aleady set at idle and if you needed to go around you should have made the decision long ago.

Not up to first solo just yet, but hoping too soon. Keep it up!

I start my training this fall. Through Jamestown Community College, I will take classes at Prior Aviation in Buffalo, NY.

If you reach the flare you are pretty committed to the landing.

If you are going to go around why would you get to the flare?

He really does need to bring that yoke back when taxiing though or he's going to end up tearing off nose gear.

I solo'd after 12 hours in 1977, nine would be a little early I would think.

I did my first solo first thing on a weekday morning as the circuit is very quiet then.

Just enjoy it all, aside from parenthood learning to fly is one of the most rewarding things I have ever done.

Shoot lots of video, get friends along so you get lots of photos and in years to come
