It kind of sucks to see Foamstars fail so badly. It was genuinely such a cool concept that got screwed by (probably) higher ups. Plus the AI art. Yeah that sucked.

Play the game in the way that is fun for you. Some people have the most fun when they are playing the weapon with their most enjoyable play pattern. Some people have the most fun when they are hyper-optimizing their win percentage, even if that means playing a weapon with a boring play pattern that is easy or powerful or both. Personally, I would rather pursue the play patterns I enjoy and accept a lower win rate. I’m not sure who said this originally (I first read it in Name of the Wind, and I know Reborn likes to say something similar), but: Don’t focus on winning, focus on playing a beautiful game.

Glad that FoamStars is shutting down for good! Speaking of which, have you heard/played Lethal Company, Astral Chain, Popucom, Stellar Blade, Zenless Zone Zero, Atlyss, 13 Sentinels Aegis Rim, Black Myth Wukong, FIST Forged In Shadow Torch, and Ananta?

The game could have worked, but they sealed its fate with locking it to PS5 only for its launch. Lack of promotions didn't help, but at least being available everywhere would have given it a chance. Splatoon doesn't have to be the only game for fighting with paint as a style of gameplay, but it'll lack competition as long as games like Foamstars come out and fail. It sucks to see, but they did it to themselves.

I mean, it is hard to believe Square Enix’s reputation is not another reason it failed. From the people you brought you Balan Wonderworld: a 3D platformer where every button is jump.

8:22 Another reason i think it failed is that its accessibility, at the beginning of foamstars, all the way back to the Beta, it was play station excuse and in the PlayStation online, as a Nintendo/Splatoon player, i can pay 20 dollar for a year membership but i can't pay 18 a month... Or so, i think its the online for PlayStation is a bit too much, especially when I AM interested in playing it at the time but couldn't

The gameplay would have garnered more interest if they had more visual clarity and didn't have stuff to slow the game down.

I understand the message but one thing i kinda disagree on is playing meta = laziness Because example stamper is not easier to use Then you have 52 one of the kost aim bot weapon alive But the meta in splatoon work differently then others games Like it really depends on the weapon, sub, and specials to even that works with each other Some works more better then other Hope that helps

The only 2 complaints I have with the game are 1. It should’ve been free to play from the beginning 2. All the characters should be playable from the start Maybe then it would’ve been a game more people play, especially if it started out as free to play, what were they thinking with charging people to play that :I
