It means so much!c To answer your first question: I have found that writing on my creative projects is actually easier now that I work from home and on my own schedule. It wasn't so much that I was writing all the time. I found that when I had to exert extra energy to leave my house and then work in a somewhat tumultuous environment at times, I didn't feel like being creative or writing at all. At one point, I felt like I was writing all the time because of work, and then I realized it was moreso that I was so tired from my job that writing didn't feel as exciting, nor did I feel I had the time. I hope that makes sense. For your second question, I would say the hardest thing about grant writing, for me, can be researching for organizations that may not be ready to start submitting grants. Research, although tedious, can be somewhat seamless for well-organized nonprofits. For research prior to new software, I used Google and search engines like GrantWatch, which were usually always paid for by the nonprofits I worked with. Now, I am utilizing a newer software called Instrumentl, which I recommend to everyone! It has made grant researching easier, and it's quite user-friendly for those new to research. I have a degree in writing with a focus on literature. I took a series of writing/editing classes, one of which happened to be grant writing. I also had a minor in youth ministry so I was already working with churches and organizations by default. After graduating I continued working with nonprofits and then eventually transitioned into writing grants. I honestly feel like a degree isn't needed because all the skills can be learned through online courses/trainings, most of which are free like Fundraising for Good. Is grant writing something you're interested in?

I'm an independent contractor, so I work with nonprofits as a consultant and sometimes on a project basis. I also subcontract with consulting companies as well. I'm hoping to do a video soon explaining it a bit more.

I typically write mysteries and new adult ( narratives that explore the transition from late adolescence to early adulthood). I also read a lot of new adult, Christian fiction, and lately I've been thoroughly enjoying literary nonfiction/memoirs and essays. Currently reading In Search of Our Mothers' Garden by Alice Walker. What do you typically write and read?

@@penofthebelovedThank you for responding. I'm slowly (and I do mean slowly), trying to get back into writing again. I write contemporary fiction and Christian fiction, which includes everyday scenarios people can relate to. I've also dabbled into poetry....but I don't consider myself a poet because it's not a consistent thing I do. In terms of reading....I need to get back into that and want to. Life just gets in the way of that. I'm usually reading contemporary fiction (as long as it's clean), Christian fiction, and I'm also interested in memoirs and literary nonfiction. And while I haven't really read this one genre yet....I'm interested in Christian mystery. There's a series I came across by author Joy Ohagwu called "She Knows Her God," that seems interesting. It touches on the subject of human trafficking, which I feel is a topic that needs to be discussed more.

I love this comment! The timeline thing definitely trips me up sometimes, but it's coming along. Hearing about your novel's process is inspiring to me too. I can't wait to delve more into the content on your channel. Also, about a year ago, I got my cardigan from Marshall's right before fall. It's my favorite one to wear while writing. It's so cozy!
