Thank you 💗 I’ll come back when I pass the interview successfully 🌝
Abort mission 😂
what is the password for the figma file ?
You shouldn’t need a password to accces it
but who has the time to present a study case for each kind of company?
The people that really want to stand out and get the Job. If you have a master case study already, you just need a few tweaks.
This was great 🔥🔥
Great Penpot demonstration on RUclips so far. I would like to see the Tesla landing in Figma version
i love this alot
Thank you so much for this video
Thank you, boss. This came in exactly when I needed it.
I use lunacy, it can works offline too
Thanks! its helpful

First of all thank you very much for sharing with us how you make your presentations. But I have a doubt, regarding the interviews, when the selection process has 4 interviews, when you present this portfolio, in the second interview after the recruiter? I am afraid that when I make this presentation in the second interview, what am I going to talk about in the third and fourth interview? Thanks a lot!!
In most cases, a portfolio review like this is usually done just once likely in your second interview after a recruiter of hiring manager round. The third and fourth round shouldn’t be another portfolio review. Ideally it should be either a white boarding session or take home assignment and a final round for culture fit and other things the company might want to assess.
Your deck is amazing, I'm buying the template!
Thank you 🙏
Penpot sounds great. Is there any possibility to publish the landing page work directly on Shopify or is it just to design a page that you can’t use for your website?
There are very few design tools that allow you to design and publish straight to the web. The only ones I know that gives you a lot of design control is Webflow and framer. The other ones are just templates
@@samuelfabayo1370 thanks for your feedback. Yes that’s the issue, it’s only for templates. The problem is that when you design the template, you can’t use it for Shopify.

Curiosity gap is a great idea to make up for generic bootcamp case studies! Great video 💪🏽
This is such an insightful video! Although there are tons of videos on UX portfolio mistakes out there, somehow this video makes it crystal clear, brings it back to the basics and the part that I really connect is - Creation over consumption! Thanks for this video.
Glad you find something to connect to.
Hi Samuel, I just discovered your channel and thanks for sharing these valuable insights. Do you have any tips for making the social sharing thumbnail bigger? I have a customized one but I use Squarespace and it appears very small on social media channels. Also, what is your feedback on this "Designing interfaces and user experiences that create trust and joy for all since 2018." as my hero section description
Can you share a link to your portfolio?

I'm a designer with over 14 years of experience, and I think if you are a pro and make a living out of design but don't want to pay for the tools that allow you to do your job, you should rethink your behavior. Don't be a cheap mofo. Also, all those claims that millions of teams ditch A for B are empty and click-baity. Of course, it's good that we have competition, but this is BS. Same thing with webflow vs framer etc., etc.

Anyone remember when you could have unlimited projects, teams and files in figma 😅 for free
Should do a new comparison with figma's new UI update
Did anybody ever told you that you look like Siya Kolisi, the South African Rugby player?
hello samuel, would appreciate if you created more tutorials like this. and copy the whole apple/samsung website for example
wow! thanks!
Nice vid. Interesting product. Have to give it a try. Figma and PS are still king at my big corp. The production and speed we can create is equally as important as the designs we produce.
how long would it be free, lol
As soon as enough users are locked in 😂.
And another youtuber with disabilities who is unable to put links in the description about the stuff he is talking about... Crazy..... But as long some kind of affiliate and other nonsense links are there, the world is okay.... At least for him.....
Can you export Penpot designs to xcode? Thanks
Unless there is a necessity to pay for software there is 2 main reasons paid subscriptions work: 1.) Due to a price low enough that it justifies paying for it because it's worth the small fee hopefully yearly or monthly to support the project and also have manageable limits with options to pay within reason for more of whatever it is required such as storage in the cloud. 2.) You're not comfortable dealing with minor delays or possible issues that need to be fixed without support as these project usually require a bit of DIY and research to fully understand it. 3.) You are comfortable and the cost is not significant because either you're well paid or you're happy with the services and have secure income. Sadly for developers especially Freelancers, income is not always guaranteed and time is usually easier/cheaper to invest than cash even if that involves contributing if capable or want to learn for free hands on. Personally I love open source and will support however I can as if something is missing or not working, you can request that or if possible add it for yourself and others too. Where open source gets scary is maintainability and actual active maintainers since it's not a profitable model 95% of the time it tends to lead to abandoned/unmaintained projects sometimes its possible to fork them and pickup the remains and update everything and take that on yourself, but sometimes these projects rely on backends not disclosed leading to a hard sometimes impossible to recover project due to that missing dependency. Overall though it all depends on the community and maintainers and the dedication and passion shown towards the project and obviously funding helps a lot. Mostly it's all hands on board even if you just provide helpful feedback, contribute or even just share it with others if the right people get involved it can 100% take over and even become profitable long term it's like the underdog winning. Just feels good to be a part of that because I don't want to pay monthly for something I may not even use every month but without paying I am missing some of the best features that make it "The Best" and who is to say I will have the money if I do need those features its a gamble and risk of business not to mention a hassle to maintain the subscription if you do decide you won't be using it some month and sometimes need it other months the idea is you will be too busy and forget and before you realize there goes 300$ a year.
Excellent review, excellent video. First time hearing of Penpot, thanks for covering this!! Trying Penpot today! (signed up)
Thanks for the video. You covered the important things without wasting time which is refreshing
penpot tutorial
that subtitle box is so annoying its in the way
Noted 📝
Biggest drawback of penpot is the performance and smart animation. The rest is arguably better than figma
Definitely want a Penpot Tutorial! this was really interesting so tysm for making this video.
So, I just found your little corner of the Internet, my friend. And I just wanted to say hi. I am someone who used to be a web developer a long time ago, and I started when I was very young in 1997. I grew up with fireworks as my prototyping tool, and then showed up and I learned that… And recently, I’ve been taking courses to get back into full stack web development, and I didn’t know there were any alternatives to Figma or adobe XD, neither of which I am really a huge fan of anymore. So I really appreciate this video and I hope you end up making a tutorial because I’ll be right here for it.
