I've been studying Spanish for maybe 2 or 3 years before coming to Spain, but I grew up speaking Spanish at home. I speak Spanish pretty well, but actually trying to read and comprehend what I'm reading takes a lot more effort.

@lulufish1722 yes it was fun!! I feel like reading is a skill that a lot of people take for granted but when we actually have to read in another language for example, even one familiar to us, it's suddenly very obvious that it's a learned skill

@@pretentioussunshine you're totally right! i'm definitely guilty of taking the skill for granted, but it's such a wonderful and beautiful thing so many of us can do. Trying to read in Spanish makes me think so much harder, especially cuz i want to get the same comprehension and understanding but then i get impatient it doesn't come as easily as English. 😔

When I first got it, it made me create an account. So I'm going to assume you need a kobo account. I think this is just in case you buy your own books and stuff. However, you don't need a subscription with your device (Kobo Plus). I had initially linked mine with my library and I could read fine with Libby (or Overdrive). Lemme know if this helps!

omg, yes i've been wanting to read Spanish books in Spain!! i think itd be super fun also, i totally know what you mean. it might not be worth it, but since i share the subscription with my dad i thought id play around. i love the way libby works with my kobo tho. it's so easy and honestly my library seems to have a bigger array of books than kobo plus. i'm not sure if you read in any other languages, but my dad loves kobo plus bc he can read a wide variety of books in spanish our library doesnt offer. hope this helps!!
