    What is the best DS vitamins? Do I have to take chewable or melts? I want to take a pill. I find it difficult and forgot to do melts and chewable

    • @tinaleeds3840
      @tinaleeds3840 2 года назад

      Hi there, for the multi I take a chewable bariatric and for ADE & K vitamins I understand it’s best to take them in separate pills and in dry form, so not a gel type, so that’s what I take. I have been looking for a multi that’s not chewable and I saw one by “vita4life” on Amazon I’m thinking of trying because the chewable is getting very gross to me, I take it 4x a day and it’s 🤢. I never could stand the melts but I know a lot of people like them. Thanks for asking!

    Hey quick question for ya. How did you drink 64 ounces of water a day after your surgery? Because I'm having my surgery next Wednesday on the 10th and I'm not sure how I'm going to be able to get all that water in my system with a small stomach. Is there like a technique you did that helped you?

    • @tinaleeds3840
      @tinaleeds3840 2 года назад

      Hi! At first they give you these little cups of water to sip. You have to sip at first but as much as possible. Water was never hard for me, it didn’t hurt at all. At some point I realized I didn’t have any problem drinking water without sipping. I don’t have a technique, I think you just do what you can. At first you’re so tired so it’s hard to do anything but remember water and walking as much as possible really helps. Good luck to you! Let me know how it goes! 😊

      @sarahsunshine78 2 года назад

      I just had my surgery Wednesday and I’m definitely struggling with getting all the fluids in. I’m sipping out of a 1 Oz medicine cup and it takes me about 15 minutes to get it down. If I go too fast, I get queasy or I vomit, which is the opposite of what we want obviously! My advice is just go super slow until you know what you can tolerate. Being 2 days post op now it is a little easier so I’m sure it will improve each day.

    I didn't have the traditional DS like you I had the Loop DS. I had my surgery 1-23-2020 so I'm almost 11 months out. And I've had so many stalls that I've lost count. Most last around two weeks but I've had 2 that were REALLY long! One was 23 days and the other 27 days so don't get discouraged! I'm currently in a stall right now that's lasted 13 days so far. It's way irritating, but I've gotten, unfortunately, used to it. My surgeon told me it couldn't be avoided since I have hypothyroidism and my body has to adjust itself a little more frequently then the average person. My weight loss has been steady if you look at it monthly rather than weekly, but it's still frustrating! My stats: HW: 389 SW: 321 CW: 206 HT: 5'7 GW:180. I look at it this way though... I was in a 6xl in shirts and a 32 in pants when I started the year and now I'm in large shirts and 14 in pants. That's an amazing accomplishment and so when I feel discouraged by a stall I try to look at things in that perspective. It makes me feel better! :D You're going good so try not to stress about those stalls, they happen and are an unfortunate part of the process.

    • @tinaleeds3840
      @tinaleeds3840 3 года назад

      That’s a great way to look at it. Thank you! My daughter also has hypothyroidism and I’ve seen her struggle so I know how hard that is, I really appreciate the reminder. I did make it past this stall, thank goodness. I know it will happen again so I’m trying to calm down. 😁

    Thanks Tina! This is why I appreciate you, there is always so much information on Facebook groups, yet there is also so much misinformation. Sometimes it’s hard to hull the wheat from the shaft but worth people like you I learn a little more every day. You normalize the process, I used to be terrified of the duodenal switch ( I used to think you’d have to take 30 pills 5 times a day!! Now I know it’s based on your personal health.) I am grateful for you and others who have gone through the process and share your journey with us.

    You are doing good. (Easier said by someone else not going through it! ) You are doing good by recognizing and paying attention to changing previous habits. I have a feeling I’ll need some reminding of this myself 😏.

    Thanks for your videos Tina I am thinking of having the DS surgery in the new year and I'm so grateful you are sharing your journey as a vegetarian because I have been eliminating meats from my diet and it feels so good and I was worried on how to get my protein in after surgery! Glad you are successful with not having to eat meat to reach your protein goals. I found Fa!rlife core power protein shakes and they have 26 grams of protein and I hear there is also 1 with 42 grams of protein 💪 anyway I am still in the research mode right now and I am deciding on whether to have the sleeve or DS... it just scares me to have my intestines re routes like that and the malabsortion part of it. Anyways I know you can relate so thanks for taking the time to share your experiences 💗

    Hi Tina! I wanted to give you an update on me. I had my DS surgery Friday, Nov 6th. Your videos have really helped me to prepare for this surgery and relate to. I'm 50 yrs old. I'm down 22 lbs. My husband hugs me overtime i tell him how much i've lost. He is excited too. He was so protective of me lifting anything heavy right after surgery. This is my 3rd weight loss surgery so my family was very skeptical. I'm very happy I've gone thru the surgery. My husband wanted me to do a before picture. I was not a big fan of that idea. LOL. I just don't want to look back only forward. You are doing awesome! Thanks, Angie

    Looking good Tina! I really see the changes in your face and neck. I'm like you too, a lifelong dieter, I always stall out at around 210, and then 185. My body is so comfortable at those numbers and it's so annoying! Keep up the good work and you'll smash pass those pesky plateaus in no time!

    I currently take, pre surgery, Calcium, D3, Iron, Vit E, L Lysine, B6 and 12 and a baby aspirin. I take a lot of meds for a seizure disorder and fibro so lots of meds. I’m worried about taking meds after surgery.

      Hi! I’m not sure about patches. I know Erin from My Level 10 Life loves them. My surgeon doesn’t recommend them but didn’t say absolutely not. Patches would be a dream, but I’m too scared to fall deficient to try right now. Let me know if you ever try them. I wanted to link my vitamins but could not figure that out. Aww I hate that people would look at your problem areas 😩 I had that same problem with my “bottom belly”. It made me angry though. I’d walk into a business or anywhere and ppls eyes immediately would look at my lower stomach pooch thing. It hurt my feelings at first and then it just started making me angry. I’d look down at my stomach and back up at them and say what? 😂 so they’d feel embarrassed
