Another great way to kill dragons? Equip Ancient Dragon Lightning Strike along with all the incantation/lightning buffing talismans, lightning and damage buffing physick, dragon cult incantation boosting seal (x2 if you can) and then the dragon heart. If you get under them and cast it you can 1 shot them as it will hit so many times.

Any Demons Souls Large Sword of Moonlight fans here? 😔Always loved how the sword originally couldn't be blocked by shields and that the true weight of the sword was the handle and the guard. 2 miyazakis is insane. For real tho very nice on the video. I always figured DS3 was a PALE imitation of the sword and it was made for more combative reasons.

Dutch was such a good manipulator that I had forgotten what he was like in RDR1 He gaslight me into thinking he was fighting for freedom. But by chapter 3 I began to remember the Dutch for RDR1 and started watching him real close. Only people who calls him out openly is John and Hosea, both from the start knew Dutch was only gonna cause trouble

True the DS3 Moonlight Greatsword comes from Oceiros’ soul. However that doesn’t mean it’s not real Moonlight. Moonlight has two forms in the Dark Souls universe. Green light from the Full Moon and purple light from the Dark Moon. Seath attempted to absorb green moonlight into his body. To do this he converted his body into crystals, which are objects that are able to hold magical energy. Thus Seath fused his body crystalline body with green moonlight so when we cut off his tail and (offscreen) shape it into a weapon it can shoot out moonlight. DS3’s Moonlight Greatsword doing Physical Damage makes sense because the weapon is a solid crystal. Only its energy blasts should do Magic Damage. Really cool video btw. Good observation.

I agree with you. Oceiros is Seath from Temu. Btw, you can get the moonlight GS spell from Midir (which deal pure magic dmg ofc). Makes me question if Midir related to Seath or do ancient dragons in general are magical beings.

Localization. You need to go to the source for stuff like this. Japanese descriptions would be the source. DS3 uses split damage for balance. I modded the sword to be pure magic and it is terribly overpowered, so it is clear they did that as a damage nerf. Should also pull some info from Armored Core, Ninja Blade, and King’s Field, btw.

I disagree, Whole Heartedly. There is an entirely Different Reason for the sword to have changed, besides outside concepts like game balance. The Age of Fire is Already Dead. Oceiros didn't find Moonlight, because there was no Moonlight to see any longer. With the Age of Fire, came Disparity, This includes **Light** and **Dark**. Oceiros was the last King, his sons, who were born and raised to link the flame, refused. Champion Gundyr, Killed before he could make it to the Firelink Shrine. The Bell tolled to call prior Lords back from ash to relink it, and of the six who arose, only one is in the Kiln of the first Flame, and the Pygmy whose desperate attempt to link the flame when all seemed lost COULDN'T burn enough to keep it lit. This is why disparities start ending. Ash rises once more. The huge disparity between Hexes and normal sorceries and incantations that was forming is GONE. All that lasts are fragments of power that had continued to exist since ancient times, like Midir's Old Moonlight. The light is leaving, fading away to the Age of Dark. The Greatsword of Moonlight has been riding souls since disparity began, and with each flickering of the flame, it grew weaker as did all that rely on flame. Look at the Demons. Of the Four Demons you fight in game, One has no flame, One's flame is Dying and is exhausted before it even dies, and the last two Demons are broken and awaiting death at the bottom of a pit. There's no Lake of Fire. No Vortex of Life that is the Chaos Flame. Now Look at Sorceries. Soul Spear, a spell that cannot easily be directed to the Pale Drake like the Crystal spells, Has a 3.0 Multiplier to Spell buff in DS1. In DS3, it has a Multiplier of 2.5. All the spells received similar drops. The world was losing everything by the time we pick up the Moonlight Greatsword. In the Dark Souls world, the Fire is dying, and so too was everything that exists because of it.

Ds2's writing is so garbage that i refuse to believe anything it says (ds1 rings being lazily rewritten in ds2 just for them to revert it in ds3 killed it for me) The bluemoon sword mentions it being lifeless, which is objectively wrong. It's the "real" version that's fake. It reuses the assets of the bluemoon gs (it was made first), it's rusty, it doesn't even glow, and it's elongated, unlike every other moonlight sword (besides KF4 which it was clearly referencing). The "mistake" here is clearly the huge fucking blunder they did with studio's staple weapon. But i can't lie, there's an argument with oceiros. When I first read the description, i just assumed assumed that he never managed to reach it himself but with the help of the transposing kiln it manages it show itself *to you* the player, it can use the moonlight vortex afterall. And it's the exact same model from ds1 just with minor improvements to the model and the material converted to work with ds3 workflow (not an accurate process). At first, i assumed it was just aged because it's dirty but ds1 has the exact same dirt and grunge. As for the pure damage thing, im pretty sure it's (mostly) just a balance thing. No other weapon has pure elemental damage (except for demon scar which was added in the dlc, but it makes sense as it's purely made of fire)

The item description points checkout but the dmg might just be fromsoft changing weapon design philosophy. The dark moon greatsword in Elden Ring and the holy moonlight sword from BB both due some physical dmg. It's also worh noting that the large sword of moonlight does pure magic dmg. So from ds2 to bb Fromsoft may have thought that pure magic dmg does not make sense for a weapon that has mass. The cipher pata from er and the demon's scar both due pure elemenal dmg but also have no weight meaning they are pure energy. The coded sword from ER has some weight but that's from the handle. Fake dragon=fake sword makes sense still but just though the meta/game design aspect might be worth noting.

Can we agree that ds2 is quite underrated? Sure it may not be the undoubtedly best souls game in the series as that's severely subject to opinion but it had alot of good ideas and mechanics don't you don't really see elsewhere

1:20 almost* every weapon can be infused. There are some anomalies like the smelter swords, Mytha’s bent blade, chariot lance, key to the embedded and the scythe of want that can’t be infused. There are more, but five seemed like enough of a list.
