This whole video is giving misinformation and misleading but more is always better. You factor in inflation but not compound interest from reoccurring dividends that's reinvested into more shares, appreciation of stock prices that actually compensate for inflation or anything in between. If you invest 50 percent or less of your income which in your scenario would be 100k annually, you wouldn't blow the entire 100k every year unless you're horrible at managing money; hence, why you think you can't retire with 2.5 already invested.
