Even in 1886 when they released the motor wagon (first even car) it had a 4 stroke gas powered engine. The first ever gas powered engine was produced by Jean Joseph in 1860 which is still 60 years older then the first ever train ever made back in 1804. 0:40 I wonder how many decades humanity takes to realize "better" is not a valid metric for any comparison. When you are living in a dense city like Tokyo, where there is a subway station every 10 steps away, taking the subway certainly is "better" than taking a car. However, when you live hours away from the next big city and you want to actually get anywhere within the same week or so, you'd "better" own a car. "Better" is NO metric! It's as context sensitive as it gets. It's like asking "what is the best color?". So the next time anyone asks "what is better", please respond with "define better - then I'll tell you".

  • @mlsasd6494

    "Batteries are comprised of .. and cobalt" except when they arent (LFP) "has a lifespan of 100,000 miles" except it doesnt (see Renault ZOE reporting, see Tesla used car market etc.) "one ton is as much 2.500 miles of an ICE" so if you can charge via solar, you are net positive after 40.000ish miles (framing is everything) "coal is the main source for power generation" irrelevant, as in general new capacity is not and would not be built in coal thus new demand by EVs would not be covered by coal but more likely by extended renewables. (+ you can work on that yourself if you are a solar owner). "they tend to be heavier than gas powered cars" correct, though (as i see it) the implication is that this would be inefficient which is wrong. Tire usage goes up and road maintenance goes up, which is both bad but compared to the impact of trucks negligible. + you can build lighter EVs and the auto industry is coming around to that idea since they have been kicked off their high horse after the pandemic. "we are still figuring out how to best recycle these batteries" many of them will live in stationairy energy storage systems as many already do today and batteries are 97 something % recyclable. We just need the recycling capacities for it. "a gas powered car costs 30.000$ while an EV costs 40.000 to 50.000$" a) cherry picking the price of the ICE (no source) b) cherry picking the price of the ev in the named range + c) ignoring the fact that cheaper EVs exist, just not in the US (see Citroen EC3, Dacia Spring, BYD Dolphin). Its a US problem, not an EV Problem. Side note about the dangerous component if they leak out. Its the exact same problem with anything else mechanical moving. If you have a bus crash (EV or ICE) you will have an environmental impact. Train failures probably have less impact, but it wont be zero, so i dont see why this fail state should be more note worthy than any other. Its a complex problem, but leaving out critical nuances in communication does not bring us forward. Its a farily simple list when it comes to environmental impact, not driving is better than public transport is better than EVs is better than ICEs in most cases. If you can improve the statistic (e.g. own solar for EV power) it can be better to own an EV, if you own a reasonably efficient ICE (or hybrid) its probably better to keep it running instead of scrapping it for a new EV. There are issues with the technology and out energy generation in general, but those issues are being worked on and the technology today is already a lot better in many cases as presented here and in other media. Nuance is important in all directions and spreading old information (battery lifespan) does not help anyone.

    • @AutoArchive180
      @AutoArchive180 4 месяца назад

      I love the information you gave in your comment. It helps me learn more however... LFP batteries are only found in model 3 and Y standard ranges. 100,000 miles is the lifespan of the battery not the car according to evoconnect. Now that depends upon which xar or specific model it is if course. I have specified coal because as of now we are more reliant on coal power then anything else. I have mentioned the msrp of 40k to 50k as a reference because that's the average cost. Kia makes picanto and it costs 20k aud while the Renault ZOE costs 33k aud which is point. Yes we can demand for more but for "NOW" that's all we have. Yes you can build lighter EV cars but my point of this video is that I am talking about current issues we are facing and how this is just not the answer and we have to do better. I never said we can stop or should stop our research if you go through my entire video you will see that part. So in short... no it's not "old" information. It's cutrent information and I only hope for the improvement.

The fast and long range means lots of energy, lots of energy is a danger. The more energy the more danger. That's why diesel as of today is the best density and least danger as flash temperature 52C. Which means you need do something to make that energy to make you harm. Petrol or batteries in Exploding Vehicles on opposite side can catch fire easily. The li battteries have thermal run away and can catch fire any minute so that huge amount energy can make you lots of harm. Just think small, a boxer can heat you in to you face and kill you and this doesn't require lots of energy. We wanna have a battery which can push a car which weight 2 ton for 700km range. That is not a fiest and not 1m, the amount of energy millions times more and one day that energy can do something that you or your family members won't have a change to leave the car. I'm not against EV, I'm for it. I also do not like going servo and I wish to swap my diesel car for EV. But I'm for safe EV, so that I'm pretty sure that my kids won't be burned in that EV.

      What a load of huge tosh! The numbers of EVs globally that have been destroyed by fire around the world in the past 6 years is not much more than 300, and almost all of those have been unrelated to charging or driving. Most have been destroyed in building fires due to other causes. The risks of an EV catching fire are magnitude of about 20 times LESS than the risk of your ICEV catching fire.

      I do get your point for sure. It is danger to cram in all of that energy into small containers we call batteries but well as humans we like to take risk lol. We invented cars back in 1886 and at that time it was the most dangerous thing on road until we made seat belts and other things so.. I would say that they will eventually find a solution to make these batteries last long and not explode hopefully

    Answer to TESLA? You must be joking 😂. Tesla is NOTHING to Lamborghini. You can have the geeky tech and the acceleration, that’s not what makes these cars. If you are going to talk about these masterpieces, respect them. This video is wrong in so many ways, down from the name (Sián ≠ sean). It’s not even trying to be anything to do with EV’s. It doesn’t even have an EV battery, it can’t drive in ev mode, it’s just a reaction to the EU’s requirement of “electrification”. The entire point of these cars is to preserve the V12, and preserve the experience of driving a Lamborghini. No EV CAN even give you that experience, because it requires an ICE.

    • @AutoArchive180
      @AutoArchive180 6 месяцев назад

      Have you heard about lamborghini Lanzador? It's a fully electric Lamborghini super car that will be in production by 2028. So your point is invalid. These brands are switching to electric cars very, very soon. Ferrari will be in the fully electric game by 2025. I still, to this point, stand by my statement. These super car brands are late to the game, and now they have to catch up to the monsters like the rimac nevera, which can beat each one of these current hybrids and shred them to pieces. Now, Nevera is a super car and is fully electric.

    • @Speedy4417
      @Speedy4417 6 месяцев назад

      @@AutoArchive180 Yes, I have heard about that disgrace. That's a concept car though, and sitll has the room to get cancelled. My point stands proven that the EU (and all the WEF puppet countries) ate forcing electric cars down people's throats. My point stands still. Electric cars are fine in their own bubble, but not to get forced down people's throats. As for you saying they're late, they're not late for anything, they're just making cars that they want to make, and there's clearly a massive market for it, so they sell. THE ONLY reason car companies are "going electric" is because it's being forced in, and choice is being eliminated. I say, electric cars can exist, but they can't replace ICE vehicles, the experience with these cars are unmatched, no matter the speed. Lamborghini is clearly not CHOOSING to go electric, people need to stop acting like this is the future, because it's not. And yes, the rimac can beat a ICE car on a drag strip or 0-60 or whatever, but is straight line speed the only thing that define supercars? You are forgetting there's driving experience, sound, and outright fun involved, this is something you won't get with your little EVs because a fast 0--60 is only fun a handful of times. Get off your spreadsheets and actually experience the cars, and even if you don't agree, at least you'll understand. People like you who support the push towards EVs is what's completely ruining modern cars. Especially for those of us that just want to hear a damn engine, and feel the rough experience that it gives you ~even if it's slower~. For instance; a tesla plaid might be faster on paper then a huracan, but if you look, people still buy huracans, and they're significantly more expensive. That alone should show speed isn't everything. So you've not proven anything whatsoever. You've only proven that you are another little obedient slave that prefers to do exactly what they're told, and believes what they're told to believe.

      Haha, this will be my last comment for this section anyway. First of all.. no, I don't hate V12 or any petrol engines. I own a car that runs on petrol. Secondly, it doesn't matter if someone likes it or not. EV cars are the future. Most of the global track records are under EV cars now instead of petrol cars. I am not saying it doesn't suck. It does suck but people need to accept it. I have provided you with the facts and knowledge I possess, haha. Now it's up to you how you take it. Call me all the names you want, but nor you or anyone is going to change the future. That's EV. On another note, I will continue to make videos on EV to prove its the future. Also, please use facts, not insults ^^ I will remove your comment otherwise. Thank.you :)

    The GT40 was not designed by a team of engineers led by Carroll Shelby, it was designed by a team of engineers led by Ford engineer Roy Lunn, with Eric Broadley of Lola acting as consultant. Shelby became involved later, running racing operations and developing the Mk1 GT40 into the 427 powered Mk2 that won Le Mans in 1966.

      Something that seems to be forgotten by history, and I think omitted from the Ford versus Ferrari movie, is that the Mark 1 GT40 was engineered in England. After their LeMans debut the car was brought stateside and given to Carol Shelby to fix.

    I believe the different iterations of the Ford GT were confused in this video. The street version for GT that came out of 2005 did not have a twin turbocharged V6. It had a supercharged V8. The twin turbo charged EcoBoost V6 is in the latest iteration.
