Oh my! Did not know O'Toole acted in Pygmalion, Cant wait to see. i feel, he was probably one of the two or three greatest (British) actor. I am going to watch my surprise finding. Thanks Andy, I subscribed!!!!
That Margot Kidder was so marginalized in Hollywood is one of the dark footnotes of the 70s and 80s. You’d have to be blind, deaf, and terribly dumb not to appreciate her superb acting talent.
NAH AHA no no no Mon Ami BOM 😁💯😎... Absolutely appalling, UPLOAD...😱🤔😲🍋... Once you have seen Aubrey Hepburn, YOU JUST CAN'T equal to her angel LIKE appearance and ability 😮... ALL I HEARD WAS painful noise 😱🥵 to MY ears.... I'm out😂
The ball was NOT depicted in this version, which is a TOTAL let down, which negated the entire point of the movie,!!! Unbelievable. I am stunned for that intrinsic scene to be just disregarded!!! Disappointed me beyond words. Peter O' Toilet is one of my favourite actors, but left me flat as Proof Higgins. He was much to loud n annoying to even imagine him successfully training someone in diction n manners n propriety!!! Rather a coarse performance n that was also disturbing to me.. Give me the subtlety of Rex Harrison and Leslie Howard anytime over this crass n devoid performance!!!
Computer just changed it AGAIN before I could correct it it was sent,!!! We KNOW his name is O'TOOLE n where this supposed smart phone came up with O'TOilet is a crying shame!!!!!
Thank you Higgins. I felt for the first time by this movie that English language intonation is histelical language and I got to know that why most Japanese are so quiet. Because we speak Japanese language or since quiet we speak Japanese language?
Wow. I never new about this version. Incredible. So different than the musical. Absolutely love Peter O'Tool and I never seen Margot Kidder in anything else except Loise Lane. How wonderful to see her in a different role. They gone too soon but this film here to stay.🎉🎉🎉 Thank you for this incredible experience.
Every version of this play is great, and each actress excelled in the role of Eliza each of them differing in Eliza's personality, I love all of their characterizations of Eliza, Wendy Hiller, Audrey Hepburn, Lynn Redgrave, and Margot Kidder, each is compelling.
Excellent performance by Margot Kidder(super might be a better description) The only mistake throughout the film"pronunciation"is the proper word in English.
I had no idea the girl from the frozen North performed as Eliza in this. Kidder was superb. And, wasn't she so very attractive? This compared to Superman, Superman is a B movie. Whoever you are, the world owes you thanks for posting this.
Thank you for this, Mr. Luk. I have watched My Fair Lady for years, and love it, but it was so good to see this play. Amazing that so many whole scenes were lifted right out of this film for that production. Thank you, again, dear friend.
I still can’t get my mind around naming a play Pygmalion and then finishing on ‘that sordid ending’. Be like naming a play Eurydice and ending it with her friend-zoning Orpheus. Better to have named it Professor Higgin’s Pet since he seems intent on training this bitch to fetch his slippers and speak when he commands.

エンディングまで原作に忠実なのかな? 私は改変版の方がロマンチックで好きです。
Peter O’Toole was wonderful in anything he chose to do❤
Hard to top Audrey Hepburn's Eliza, yet Margot Kidder did most certainly.
Peter O'Toole, whom I adore, is great as Harry Higgins. The whole cast and setting was superb for this perrenially interesting story.

Computer Correction corrected by MYSELF: PETER O' Toilet!!!!

no mystery why she didn't want to stay as a helper mate to two gay guys.
This is a real life, theatre, play that I would pay to watch.
The thumbnail image looks like a still from The Antiques roadshow 😂
She was soooo pretty.
Kidder does a yoeman's job but WHY oh WHY didn''t she drop the "T" in "Captain."??????? It's properly Cap'n
O'Toole "walk-through" performance is ice cold, as it was when i saw it on Broadway. Why he bothered is beyond me.
Excellent ❤
Mrs. Pearce is Scottish
Pygmalion (TV Movie released on July 14, 1983.)
I definitely prefer Rex Harrison and Audrey Hepburn version. Much more class.
Peter O'Toole and John Standing here played enemies in Rogue Male, a film they did about 8 years prior to this.

My 2 cents: this production made GBS's ideas of man/woman very clear and true to his original writing.
Every version of this play is great, and each actress excelled in the role of Eliza each of them differing in Eliza's personality, I love all of their characterizations of Eliza, Wendy Hiller, Audrey Hepburn, Lynn Redgrave, and Margot Kidder, each is compelling.
As David Niven said of Robert Newton, one could say of O’Toole’s performance that he is a ham, but a succulent one!
Excellent performance by Margot Kidder(super might be a better description) The only mistake throughout the film"pronunciation"is the proper word in English.
Very well done! I'll always see Leslie Howard's version as the best film production, but this has to be the best stage like version.

"You dare take one step in his direction, and I'll ring your neck!" 1:44:09
This performance by Peter O'Toole is very exaggerated. Rex Harrison's is much better.
I couldn't imagine a better Henry Higgins than the late, great Peter O'Toole.
Howard Harris Toole. A theater production.
Thank you for this, Mr. Luk. I have watched My Fair Lady for years, and love it, but it was so good to see this play. Amazing that so many whole scenes were lifted right out of this film for that production. Thank you, again, dear friend.
My Fair Lady is just Pygmalion with a bunch of mediocre songs tacked on.
@@weemissile Sacrilege!
@@kennethwayne6857You know I'm right. The songs completely derail things.
Perche' non in Italiano?
John Standing and Peter O'Toole had great chemistry reunited after the Rogue Male. Margot Kidder is great as Eliza too.
