Hi, I've been meaning to watch Harry Potter for the first time because of a good friend who loves the series and books. I'm very nervous to step into it because it has an enormous fan base, I'm scared I'd not understand the story or not like it (there's been a lot of references and I've felt a little left out since I've not seen it) Do you have any advice for starting out, I want to watch all the movies but I don't feel too drawn to it yet. how do I feel more excited about it? I've felt this way about Star Wars too, then I finally binge watched all the movies in the span of a week and loved it.
Hi there have you considered listening to the audiobooks? they are narrated by Stephen Fry and are excellent it might be a good introduction if you don’t feel fully ready to watch the movies yet I just have them on in the background most of the time! other than that I would say just start with the first film and see you feel Thank you for your comment

This is why I became such a bibliophile. The books always have more room for such details. When they're making the movies, someone decides that certain details are not important. Details that book fans notice are missing and should be included. I really hope they think to include more of these details in the upcoming TV series. Even expand upon them.
