The Mediocre Mountain Biker of Georgia
США
Добавлен 23 июл 2022
I started mountain biking in New England in the late 80s. I started with a rigid Giant, then a Mongoose IBOC Pro with the famous gold Rock Shox. After about 25 years of life, I am back to riding as much as possible and now I'm on an EMTB. I am mediocre at best these days. My primary interest is gravity trails and I try to hit Killington and Beech Mountain several times each season. I travel a lot and have been planning my road trips around riding spots for about four years. This channel will be an outlet for ride reports, tips, and hacks that I find helpful. Most of my videos are slightly edited, full-ride trail previews. WARNING: I often wear my Run Shokz so you might have to listen to some awful singing and you might see an occasional off-road video since they go hand in hand in my world.
Unfortunately, about a year after choosing this channel name I found that someone had been using it before me. I did some basic searches before choosing it and never found anything. Sorry buddy

Windrock Off Road Park
We rented a couple side by sides and hit the trails at Windrock in Tennessee. Windrock is the largest privately owned off-road park in the U.S. They advertise over 70,000 acres and more than 300 miles of trails. There's also a downhill MTB area that runs a shuttle during the day. #windrock #offroad #yamaha

How do you mark the beginning and end of a Strava segment you want to create? I show you a super lame, yet legitimate way to do it. #mtb #emtb #strava
Three Best Trails at Moore's Bridge Park

The three newest trails at Moore's Bridge Park are the best stuff out there. This shows all three going CCW on each which seems to be the most popular direction out there and allows you to hit a few fast downhill sections. #emtb #mtb #mooresbridgepark
Keeping That KOM On Horace King

I wanted to add one more second to my lead on the Gravity is King EMTB segment at Moore's Bridge Park in Caroll County, GA. I ended up with four seconds which is seven ahead of second place #emtb #mtb #dhmtb

Another reason to not ride Moores Bridge trail alone......smh!
Once the trails opened at BMB a lot of the riff raff disappeared. Not this place
Or maybe the people left in there before it got ripped open. How do you know the thiefs took the time to look for every single envelope?
Seriously dude? You must be a real blast to hang out with
Lmao just take all the envelopes and check somewhere else
Assembled.
I've got a set of the new Continental's on order. Argotal for the front, Kryptotal on the back. Both are Downhill casings with super soft compound.
Amazing job remembering so soon glad you didn’t drive further
Must be a sram 😂
Juts get a regular bike 😂😂😂
Wow didn’t even know and I ride mtb no need for battery single speed that thing 😅
I'm too old and fat for a single speed
So why eactly should this be better than a conventional, cable driven shifter without a software DRM on the battery?
No cable stretch, no hanger to bend, precise shifting, ability to shift under power, fine tuning each individual shift via the app. It's a superior system, probably the way things will go. I get all the people hesitant to try or not being able to see the value of it.
@@themediocremountainbiker_71 I'm not only hesitant to try it, I never had the points you describe as an issue until now. It's minor annoyances, technicalities. This solution is a solution without a merit. A nice to have, no necessity. And it proves to be the worse system - because it just can refuse to work at its own will or the will of the company. this is not YOUR product, you just happen to try to use it. This is garbage.
Dang thanks homie

Oh man if this is some serial number encoding shit... I'm glad I'm on cable operated still
Battery #2 just doesn't like you .
Sometimes I feel that way
Life is truly amazing lol
Luckily it locks in with that chrome security bolt. The pin is an extra measure
I've only seen lions mane in the store. Another rider mentioned something called old man's beard or something like that.
Looks like lions mane and its delicious. I think fresh market has them now
I buy Lion's Mane in the store and it looks a bit different. It may just look different after being in a box for a few days.
Maybe bears heads tooth
Lions mane?
Another rider mentioned Old Man's Beard but I looked it up and it wasn't close
Wow😂
Guess u got smoother roads then malta 😂 🇲🇹
That’s what that AirTag you have on there is for
that’s called karma right there 😂 keep being good and good things will keep happening 😤😤🙏
Always keep a magnet on your key ring, it’ll save you someday.
And a apple air tag
and the pin for that bike carrier? 😂
When you buy good shit and it just works no matter what 😂😂
My man Maxxis DHR all the way..... don't get fooled by the "R" for rear. Top rubber right there......oh and I run mines on 20psi but I don't ride a steel gate like you 😜😜😂🍻
You're running the DHR on the front? Yes, my battle ax does require a few extra pounds in the tires.
@themediocremountainbiker_71 yes sir.....as a front tire and Disector rear. Well known for most riders 😉
I've got a Schwalbe Eddy Current on the front, SUPER grippy 👍 Also run a Big Betty on the rear, it has great climbing grip
They make a Shredda and Magic Mary that are also good grippy front tires.
Very cool, thank you. I'll check those out
Lucky
I thought I had left them on the cover. I'm glad I walked all the way around to the back
Best advice I ever got was squeeze the brakes more
😂
Atta boy!
Mehh
I feel that pain
Same was yesterday 😢
That was me and a buddy infront of you!
I just saw this. That's wild. I got halfway down and realized I hadn't put my chin bar on my helmet.
Thats your backyard though Slicker....
yes it is, there's no signal there, and definitely not one where I was going
Dam
come on opening day........see you out there in 24
I'll be a couple weeks behind. I can't get up there from Atlanta until the second weekend in June
hopefully see you out there
You laughing after warmed my heart lol
It seemed like a good idea at the time. I've got some scrapes but Nothing bad.
Bro..but why did you even try that on wet rock!?!?!? Hope you are ok brother
I just rode this route today. Someone is deliberately cutting trees to fall across the road/trail you take to get to the house and bridge.
Interesting theory. The horses are supposed to stay off the MTB trails, maybe they want the MTBs off of the trails over there. That's how they all come through to the main park from the boarding place on 16.
Was wondering what happened. Lol
Stash your bike and go in!
There's a lot of metal sticking up from the floor and things hanging from the roof. I'd need to triple up on my tetanus shots first.
Nice video ! Just tilt the camera a bit up next time !
Most of mine are shot a little higher. This was my first one recorded with my new Hero 12 with Hyperview so I need to come up with a new system for aligning. I was just sticking my thumb between my chest and the camera with the older GoPro. Some of the editing involved zooming and moving the view up for the reason you mentioned. Thanks for watching and giving some good feedback
That's touching. Dogs make such a huge impact on us during their short stay. We buried my dog under a sapling at my family home, everytime I go back it's bittersweet to see how big and beautiful the tree has become.
Aww that’s an wesome way to commemorate a service dog
Dude was going hella fast
Still my fault but yes, I think that cart was derestricted. It was moving!
