You lot want an economy but at every turn there’s objections to everything
Thats chance for YOU to pay for this mine remediation. Your ancestors 100-50 years ago had no money to do it, they worked hard in deep dangerous mines for food and shelter (yes, 16 tons), so if you do not like these earth scars (and who likes them?) - YOU pay. Not govt (ie let someone else pays for my wishes). Especially if you preach about carbon emission, means you want to destroy economy, not create anything, burn money not earn them.
If you wanna know about slavery go to Africa British are not the one who are supposed to teach you your own history I'm African but I'm tired of all these black born outside Africa saying you need to teach people I don't think a white person can be forced to study something that they don't want too I was schooled back home and I know all about slavery cos my people kept records of what happened in my country I don't know about other countries cos slavery affected everyone differently so if you black out Africa and know your parents are African go to they country and learn it's history and teach it your kids and all that what people say things should be given back to Africa 😂😂😂 we are so corrupt we will sale that shit back and no one will see that money 😂
The recent landslip caused in the valleys during Storm Bert is a sign of what is going to happen if these slag tips don't get cleaned up! The residents of the Welsh valleys are living under ticking time bombs!
Britain only creates less than 04% of carbon in tbe world. Not moning cosl will do nothing except bring the cost of heating homes etc to the public more expensive. Its crazy in my opinion We need coal. Germany. China etc all using coal
It's a con. I wonder which Tory donor runs the company? I used to live near Blackwood and I know the park well, it's beautiful, especially at this time of year, and that would be vandalism to run lorries through it and yet another reason to refuse planning permission.
As always with all mining, now the big money has gone, the Slag is left to destroy the Environment..
Is it time to make wilful environmental destruction a criminal offence that is punishable with an actual, lengthy prison sentence yet? I think we all know by now, that toothless fines are just a minor inconvenience to the obscenely wealthy that profit from ecocide.
Never forgetting Labour want to build houses over all the countryside?
What destruction are you talking about?
History is history. It has no direct impact on anyone living today. Go to Africa to ask them to make an exhibition about why they sold their own people in the first place.
Y’all keep talking about it, we thought it was covered 😂
If you're going to talk about slavery, go to the source and perpetrators of it today.... AFRICA!
Your history is not our history 😂 We cater to the majority not the minority. The majority of Englishmen have no interest in this subject.
Some countries want to ignore the huge role slavery played in the founding of their country.
They weren't the starter's of it, and it didn't stop when they stopped. Try somewhere a little more relivent, say Arabia or Africa.
You're partly right but the British industrialised the process. Can't hide from that.
Whats with the tom and jerry moma hat.
Go to the Liverpool Albert Dock Museum, and you will find out all you need to know about slavery.
Hopefully the fact that it happened to the citizens of the Devonshire coast by West African raiding parties during the reign of Charles II, that we abolished slavery in law, sent the Royal Navy to hound the slavery ships, freed thousands from literal shackles, established trade relations with countries using the abolition of slavery as a non-negotiable for us - and again used the Royal Navy's presence as a bit of gunboat diplomacy. I am incredibly proud that my forefathers put their blood and treasure where their mouth was in helping rid the the world (at that time) of this practice.
💯💚
Hopefully the fact that many slaves were sold by their own people. Debtors, enemies and even different social class were looked upon as not being equal to them. The whole story needs to be told, not just Britain's part.
Or just Britain's "part".
I bet there is naff all about child labour in the industrial revolution too. Whenever you see cut stone, probably someone died young for it.
I heard one water company boss Saying we the public had water too cheap in the past. That is why the rivers are full of …..
Corruption is endemic in our system. Radical change is vital but Labour clearly, are not the answer!
Becouse there in with corporations ! It's that simple
More bribes I guess
It should be a breach of the Ministerial code to hold unminuted meetings. A second offence should be a sackable one.
Yup, they need prosecuting into bankruptcy.
Neo+Liberal Starmer...
I'm really disappointed to hear this, what can I do?
Given how they’re funded nowadays by private finance, all this behaviour is their donors getting what they want: more profit, less oversight, zero accountability.
So shut them down yourselves. I realize that you British live under tyranny, but just take charge
Because they're run by Tories.
Bang on right. There should be No "off the record un minuted meetings" Let's expose this! Solidarity ✊✊✊✊ Please chip in to the GLP if you are able too 🙏
An utter disgrace: they are clearly in the pockets of the water companies. I am already completely disillusioned with Labour - what a massive let down.
Perhaps the budget deficit has government over a barrel. If they nationalise, the state takes on liabilities and all the neglected infrastructure. Nationalising it would cost money in the short term. We'd all end up paying for what our water bills should already have paid for. But instead it all went to shareholders so they could send Timmy and Eugene to private school. And gosh, we can't not go skiing this year and mummy needs a new Range Rover.
You're quite right. The business men and women who are currently in control will not deviate from the Neo Liberal ideology that Margaret 🤢Thatcher 🤮🤮 introduced it all those years ago.😷 To do so would be detrimental to their own businesses and private sponsors.
You give them bonds that pay a little for 30 years and it is nationalised.
Labour sucks corporate d
Sick of labour already. I didn't want to vote for Labour because I didn't trust them. Nobody gave me any trust. Labour is not on the side of the people. It's more so than the rest, but that's not saying much.
We can’t afford these free loaders for much longer. The country is rotten from the very top ( RF) and right the way through the 1%. It’s no wonder we are pxss poor compared to our grandparents With all these free loaders leeching us dry.
Shareholders - let's reframe what they are. Based on truth. Lazy, workshy, scroungers. That's what they are. Why don't they get their own job instead of paying donations to politicians to rig the sale of another of our assets to be used against us?
Wales got it's water back, Welsh Water. Reduced bills, so customers are happy. Reduced the business debt, so the business is better. Who lost out? Rich shareholders, who are lazy, workshy, scroungers who need to get their own job and stop scabbing from hard working people. Lenders, bankers, also lose out. Because the debt is smaller, they get less profit on the loan. Why can't we prosecute or sue dirty governments who rip us off? Private business should be able to run services for a contract. Not shareholding, not ownership. A contract.
The UK has introduced new legislation to hold water company bosses criminally liable for sewage pollution. The Water (Special Measures) Bill, introduced in September 2024, significantly increases enforcement powers against water companies that pollute rivers, lakes, and seas. This legislation allows for criminal charges, including imprisonment, for executives who fail to comply with environmental standards. It also bans bonuses for water bosses if they fail to meet high standards. Why is this legislation a failure of this government? What am I missing here please?
😠 You are ‘missing’ the need for many more inspectors in the Environment Agency, AND the immediate replacement of OFWAT by a supervisory body with tough powers. AND the immediate need to TAKE BACK CONTROL of OUR utilities, starting with water. It is so in Scotland and Wales . . . but not in England. Why?
@@sirmeowthelibrarycat Why wasn't any of this mentioned in this useless video? Your points are a lot more valid than "Labour had some meetings in the summer and we don't know what was said...." followed by some pointless crying about transparency. I reckon the Good Law Project have had their account hacked by idiots 😂😂
Bought and paid for. NuLabour, looking after the oligarchy and copying the tories in their aversion to accountability and transparency. Nationalisation or community interest companies working for the people, not private monopolies spreading the muck.
No government is going to have a face off with big business of any type. If they do and dividends to shareholders fall , especially under a labour administration, they would be accused of being extreme socialists. Plus no party has the guts or principles regardless of manifesto pledges.
This issue is not going to go away the proposals made are simply not substantial enough to tackle the problem. Would the Lib Dems proposals do the trick ?
Quite right 👍
FFS.
Election promises are always the same. Never kept.
You are absolutely right. If they aren't going to produce the minutes of these meetings, I would suggest that you get a microphone and or camera in there?
Green is the new Red... meaning environmentalism is the new communism. of course for your own good.
