Do you think is it possible to learn wingfoiling on one's own? I know that is always better to have the instructor, but sometimes it is not possible.
Hey! 😃 Yes, it is definitely possible to learn wingfoiling on your own 👍 I did it, too. But I would not do it again and also would not recommend it. With an experienced teacher you will save a lot of time and money and you will also avoid a lot of mistakes at the beginning. If i would start again, i would just book a starter course over a weekend until i can fly safely. Where are you from? Do you not have a surf school near your location? Greetings from Germany, Max 🙋♂️
@@easywingfoil Max, I'm from Poland, I started windsurfing many years ago with professional school and saved lots of time. However I want to start wingfoil with wing only and my old windsurfing board or sup because I have many lakes nearby. I racommend you the best spot for windsurf, kite and wingfoil - the Hel Peninsula in Poland near Gdansk Hundreds of hectares of shallow waters, many hotels and campings.

I have never been to Poland for surfing, but i guess it's beautiful 😍Yes, when you have experience in windsurfing, then learning to wingfoil should be possible for you! I would have needed this today. Very light wind made me fall in a lot. Too much cold water in the ears doesn't feel good
Hey Claudio my friend 😃 Yes you are right 👍 Too much cold water doesn‘t feel good and also is not that healthy for the ears 👂Can definteley recommend them! I was on the water 2 days ago with 7 degree cold water over here in Germany and i really got no water in my ears 👌Thanks to this product 🙏 All the best and keep up the good work 🎬 Max 🙋♂️

one day in strong wind my leash broke my board is gone. I swam for 1 km my board was going with the wind it was 10 to 20 m in front of me we were going at almost the same speed. fortunately another wingfoiler cut her trajectory and stopped her otherwise she was heading towards the rocks

Best, I also wingfoil a lot on inland waters with lighter gusty winds. To be able to sail more, I am looking for a nice wing for days with light winds. My current wing is quite heavy. How is the low end of the Vayu Aura 6.0m? And from how many knots do you sail it? Greetings, Bart.
Hey Bart 😃 Thanks for your comment! I also wing in the same conditions like you - on lakes with lightwind and gusts. For those conditions the Aura 2 is perfect. Also the boom handling is very good! For 90% i use the 6m wing all over the year. Which wing do you have at the moment? The Aura 2 is really lightweight and you can sail it from probably 6 knots upwards. The best would be to combine it with a big foil and big board for lightwind (maybe a Downwind SUP Foil Board). Have you ever tried such a board? With those boards you can even use a 4m wing in 6knots because the boards get up so early - but its a bit challenging to get used to. Have a great weekend! PS: Where are you from? As a wing with light wind I now have the Freewing GO 6.5 m. Unfortunately I have not tried a Downwind board yet. But I will definitely do that later. I live in South Holland.@@easywingfoil

One can use Axis mast with other fuselage if one owns other brands ie: Lift, Takuma etc. by ordering connector btw $150-$180 from few outfitters. I have Axis PnG 1150 ( makes humming sound when Wingding at high speed )only for Dock start but like to ride Takuma Kujira 1250 for Wingding..but dislike Takuma mast. Axis mast so much stiffer and it seems to be a market standard & affordable mast out there… Keep your big foil or get a bigger Front foil BSC 1120 (2100) for when you decided to tackle Dock start…

@@easywingfoil I live by the shore in the NYC we don't have a huge waves here that's why 1060 is good ! I do have a small 29 liters board for a prone foiling!

I’ve been riding without a board leash pretty much from the day one. I ride flat water 95% of the time. I learned the technique how to body drag to the board quickly and have to swim only for a very small distance (a meter or so) to get the board. However, when riding on open sea or really sketchy location I do use the board leash. My rule of thumb is if the waves are bigger than 1/2 meter I will use the leash. That size of wave can push the board fast enough that chasing it takes a long time. I Personally I see it as a personal preference if riding on a flat water in a safe location, like a lake or a bay. Strongly recommend the leash on open sea, big waves or spots with hazards. However I also strongly recommend everyone to learn proper body dragging technique. Leashes brake and I’ve seen it couple times when to rider lost the board for no good reason other than a broken leash.
