Rebirth begins and ends showing that people who die in one "world" don't really die in the others. It even shows Red, Johnny, Kyrie and even Aerith simultaneously and independently existing in each world. Then we have some characters like Biggs and Cloud hopping worlds, dying, surviving anyway. It's all a dream, just like the OG Nibelheim script says when Tifa is in the party. And why? Jenova-Seph tells you when she takes a very female step at the Forgotten Capital in Seph boots: to experience your pain of loss, the same thing she did in Nibelheim. And then the limit gauge in the final Jenova battle means everyone except Cloud feels loss: because the alien psychic warfare isn't working on him anymore.
Are you saying that on Aerith and Clouds final dream date, Aerith had him choose a gift and snacks to help retrieve memories from the light side of Cloud? I really like all of your theory it’s super interesting and I haven’t heard anything like it. Gotta say though idk if Aerith was faking it on the whisper tendril at the end when the whisper punched her and pushed off but I’m completely open to interpretation and kind of like your idea she faked it to snap him out of it anyways.
Hi Thanks for watching! I presume that we were seeing Aerith move in Cloud's subconscious, hence the allusion to the wheelchair in Mideel from the original game. Everything taking place in the interlude world is Cloud's subconscious. This date had a two-fold purpose: 1) to help Cloud try to find himself, but failed.....as she hasnt known Cloud long enough or intimately enough to restore his ego. 2)However Aerith was able to recover her most precious memories of her true love Zack and their date from Crisis Core. So she just reenacted the memories of that date in order to have Cloud bring "hope" back to her in the sleeping forest before he awakened (with an empty materia). These memories and hope were expelled and lost at the whisper dome in Remake before leaving Midgar, ironically its where and why we just returned to retrieve them. Thats why I suggest she was innocently using Cloud as a means to an end, and in the process stirred up more of Zack's personality in Cloud rather than his own. This was hinted at in the conclusion when we see Cloud standing like Zack in battle. Hope this helps, simplifying an esoteric concept can be challenging.

Great video! I just want to express that many FFVII characters are based in multiple mythologies. Greek is probably the most significant due to it's ties with the Gnosticism and the Hellenistic era. But there's Hebrew and Egyptian mythology along with many others. One example is the 'Ra' part of Shin-Ra is a reference to the Egyptian sun god. This is made pretty clear in Chapter 6 of Remake regarding the president's connection to the sun lamps. There's also Barrett's quote "You gotta take out a sun just to open a gate" which is symbolic of the President's death in Chapter 17. And the name Darkstar is most likely a reference to a Solar eclipse which is symbolic of death of a God. Like the Eclipse after Christ's death. The 'Shin' part could be Japanese or Hebrew. The former means to 'play god', and the other means 'to pierce' or 'wound' and it's where the Greek letter 'Stigma' comes from. I'd say both are equally good candidates.

It talks about gnosticism and plenty of other spiritual matters even alluding to "proto materia". I'm not sure of your background or faith, but your comments and knowledge expressed in some of the the streams we are in together about FF7 made me think you might appreciate it.
