The great Nevada road trip, 60 MPG
In this video, I took the Mitsubishi Mirage on a 2,500 mile road trip from Anaheim, California, to Bullhead City, Arizona, to Crescent Valley, Nevada, to Battle Mountain, Nevada, to Austin, Nevada, to Hawthorn, Nevada, to Mammoth, California, to Bishop, California, to Death Valley, Nevada, to Beatty, Nevada, to Pahrump, Nevada, to Bullhead City, Arizona.

Ortega Highway Airport Fire aftermath

I meant to post this... About 1 month ago, then I forgot. I didn't, and still don't want to post this (and it's outdated news at this point), but I said I'd post an aftermath video, so here it is.. Very late. Hopefully everyone can rebuild quickly! Lots of old (likely nice) cars where burned sadly.. Not many of the old ones left, it's sad when a huge amount of them get burnt like that.

In this video I drove the 2024 Mitsubishi Mirage es on the Angeles Forest highway and on California highway 2. I drove all the way up to California highway 39 which has been closed for quite a few years at the top. And California too has also been closed at the top for quite a while. It's quite nice at the top. Lots of nice views on the way up. I also took the Angeles Forest highway to Palmdale...

Can a Mitsubishi Mirage drive up an 8,000+ foot high mountain?
Просмотров 387Месяц назад
Hello! In this video I took my 2024 Mitsubishi Mirage ES up an 8,443 foot high mountain pass, on CA-38. It's the highest road in the San Bernardino Mountains, as well as the highest road in southern California, nothing beats it. A car without a turbo looses about 3% of it's power for every 1,000 feet in elevation gain, so at 8,500 feet, the car will loose 25.5% of it's power, bringing the horse...

Just bought a 2024 Basic model (heated seats integrated), thanks much for your update makes me feel good!
I got owned a 2017 model mirage hatchback, this little car is invincible a very good small car until now not even a single problem brought this car to me, a fast and durable car that I had.
Lol the refrigerator.
I’m getting car sick watching…..😵💫
Oh dear! I'm sorry about that! Is it because the camera keeps flickering?
@ Sorry, I have bad astigmatism, but was drawn to your car….identical to mine. Glad you had a great mileage and nice trip. Enjoy your new car😁👍
Great video!
Thanks Todd! This one took me a long time to make! Lots of backtracking on the map trying to figure out where in the world I was, to add the text in. Lol.
Getting ready for Christmas already? Nice music ... Not so nice scenery, but hey ...
@@lynnstillwell2 for me it's the most awesome scenery. I really like snow. (: I can't believe that but I guess I have to because I was looking right at it, it was snowing around October 15th.
Question: How often does the manufacture recommend the transmission guild be changed- or at all?
@@Tremontvolleyball every 30,000 miles they recommend it.
Snazzy music
Im always afraid ill rear end someone like this while im getting 10mpg
I am doing everything I can to be visible, my car is bright yellow, I run the headlights during the day, and stay to the far right. I've been ran into once, and it was at a stop light in a manual car. Light turned green, had a long backup of cars. Got going after a while, sped up to 3rd, then we came to a stop right before the light for some reason, everyone stopped, I left the car in 3rd, then when taking back off I stalled it, then the Prius behind me kissed the back of the car. They aren't insured, or have a license. That's the first time driving a manual car by the way. Lol.
I watched this because I wanted to remind myself about how much I hate this car. I drove the mirage as a rental for a few weeks. However watching this video actually made me realize how efficient these cars are and looking deeper into it, how cheap there’s cars are too. Kind of made me like this car a little especially after seeing you fit a fucking fridge in side of it some how. Good video
Thanks! A lot of people hate these cars, and I don't see why. They are very solid cars. I've put 30,500 miles on it, just got back from a 2,500 mile road trip to northern Nevada, and it did great! These cars are very efficient, and reliable. (: Why did you dislike it when you had it as a rental?
I paid $2.68/gallon for gas yesterday, but that was with 10 cents off per gallon with my grocery store points. So it would have been $2.78/gallon.
@@lynnstillwell2 that is absurdly cheap! I also recommend going to Love's truck stop if you are out and about. The reason why is they also are cheap. Plus if you have their app you can get 10 cents off per gallon. You don't need to put in your card or anything it's just download the app and make an account and as soon as you open the app it gives you a barcode to scan on the machine.

@@mabett2313 Hello! I would say yes, but I'm not very enthusiastic about the Maverick. Sure, I think it's the best pickup on the market, but my mom's has had a lot of issues. Recently it bricked it's self in the driveway, twice.
Either way
@@jimcheek2522 hey how are you? Either way today I am reading comments either way now I'm reading a comment about either way and now I'm going to reply with either way. Either way. ☺️
68mpg?! Crazy! What’s the secret?!
There is no secret. Just keep your speed to as close to 35-40 MPH as possible. Of coarse don't go 35 in a 25 limit, or 35 on the interstate, but I tend to go 55 MPH on the interstate (as I did in the video) and that gets me the highest MPG. The car gets it's highest MPG at 35 to 40 MPH, so if you're at 20 MPH, it's less efficient, if you're at 55 MPH, it's also less efficient. If you are at 70 MPH, it's even worse. But 55 is a nice middle ground on the interstate. If it's not busy, I sometimes slow down to 50 MPH, but rarely.
Watching your videos made me realize I want a mirage. 2 weeks ago I finally got one with 12,000 2024 black edition in the same color as yours. I love it thank you
Wow! That's quite amazing! I am glad you like it! How much was your 2024 Mirage with 12,000 miles? Was it a decent amount cheaper than a new one with a warranty?
What a shit vid
Your camera focus is hokey here in the beginning. I wonder what its problem is. It hasn't done that before.
My camera loves loosing focus! I don't know why. I'm sorry. /; I recorded a 2,500 mile road trip to northern Nevada (coming soon) and the video is glitchy for a lot of it.. Camera doesn't know what to focus on.
I don't enjoy the night driving as much, but it's still cool. Let's see how long it takes me to watch this one. 😆
Hopefully not too long, I have about 5 more hours of video ready to be posted. LOL. I don't do many night videos, but someone asked for one. (: I did a 2 1/2 hour drive/talk video up to Kingman, Arizona. And I did a 2 1/2 hour video driving 2,500 miles through Nevada, California, and Arizona.
I love your channel! I love my 2024, out of all the vehicles I’ve had (30) it is by far my favorite.
30! Wow! That's a lot of cars! What version of the Mirage did you get? Sedan, or hatchback? Which trim level is it? What MPG have you been getting?
Ds turns off Eco mode so you can accelerate max tq is 4k

I used to call them brights. Now I call them high-beams. I have no idea when I switched.
We should call them "High brights" or something, mix them together to make it confusing.
You pronounce "tacos" different from us in the East Coast. We say TAH-kohz. You say TACK-ohz. Interesting.
Most here say it like you do, the way I say it is odd, and it's fun to annoy everyone. (:
I'm a little over halfway. -- You say you don't know the speed limit. When I use GPS, it tells me the speed limit when it knows it.
My GPS does the same. But on this drive the limit wasn't even showing on GPS for some reason, it's weird.
What a whining prick
Excessive oil changes. You just have a lot of time and free quarter :-) Nice video bro.
Oil is cheaper than an engine, and the manual says 3,750. So that's what I do. The oil change is $20 for the filter and oil. The oil change, I can get it done in less than 30 minutes, the last one took me 22 minutes. So no big deal. (:
I've never done a burnout. 😆 Have you?
Yup! Not on purpose though, both in rear wheel drive pickup trucks with large engines. I gave them throttle like I would in my car, and they spin the tires. Lol.
Cool tunnels. We used to blow the horn for our kids. 🙂 We didn't do it unless we were by ourselves.
Same here!
I'm very nervous when driving or riding beside big drop-offs. Our little mountains are bad enough.
That's not good! If you're ever in the car, I will slow way down next to mountains. ;p

@@extralock1045 wild. I get up to 44. Love my little car. Would love to make it into a car camper but I have the g4 model
@@eman31683 44 Is quite low! I just did a 450 mile drive from Bullhead City, Arizona, to Yuma, Arizona, then drove to San Diego, California, then to Anaheim, California, and averaged 64 MPG. Driving habits have a huge play in getting the best MPG. Like never going over 55 MPH, unless downhill. Staying under 2,000 RPM speeding up around town, cruising at 1,800*ish* RPM on the interstate with cruise control, or going the speed limit in town with cruise control, at like 40, or 45, what ever the limit is. Going up mountain roads, I just hold it at 2,500 RPM going up hills. (:
You can probably remove the back of the rear seats, I think the unbolt from the trunk, and you might have enough room just like that to lay down and sleep. Or you can remove the passenger seat, and put a box or something in it's place for ground support, and get even more room.
Shaky footage. Couldn't stand watching. Sorry.
It's okay. I don't know how to make the phone not shake. Do you have any suggestions?
@@extralock1045 I use an old DJI action camera. My longest video was about 1.5 hours and it never overheated. Excellent video stabilization. Was recording in 4K. You can also power the DJI camera with an external power source. I never tried it though because I rarely make long videos. Not too sure if the new DJI cameras can be powered externally? You might have to check.
I will look into it. Currently I just use a Samsung j7 which is what I use for a dash camera. In the dark it often loses focus.

21:46 Most weigh stations have an ezpass transponder that will tell the truck to stop at the weigh station or to go on without stopping. They usually use an algorithm that goes off the CSA scores of the vehicle being communicated with to make that decision, but sometimes the weigh stations will manually select which vehicles need to stop. Since there are so many trucks on the roads, if every single one stopped at every single weigh station, they would get backed up and noticeably impact freight transport, let alone the impact on the drivers' productivity. Some smaller ones in less traveled areas will stop every truck but it's up to the weigh station itself.
Interesting! Thanks. What is the point of a weigh station? Is it just to get some profit over trucks that are too heavy?
Since roads get worn down exponentially more with linearly more weight, the weigh stations are there to mitigate the future repair costs of the roads, and to put some funds in store for when construction and repairs are due again. They generate very very little profit.

So you'd like to experience hurricane winds? An open field on high ground with no ground sloping toward you would work ... unless you are on the side of the hurricane that is spawning tornadoes. Where I live, that is being on the right side of the hurricane's path -- that's the bad side. They also spawn ahead of the hurricane and at the tail at times. Tricky business.
There were lots of tornadoes all over Florida for hurricane Milton I heard. Not good
