Just rescued a “pittie” that looks exactly like a cur, right down to the ear, blaze and perpetually freaked out whites of the eyes. His personality and build is also more that of a cur. Fingers crossed for when we get the Embark back. Wouldn’t be surprise if he was 100% cur.

A friend of mine has a Black Mouth Cur and I look after her when he goes away on trips. She's lovely. Intelligent, obedient, energetic but not exhausting. She's fun to have around. If I were to get another dog, I would be inclined to get this breed. Lovely dogs.

I don't have a fence but she listens very well unless there's a critter or someone on the property. She knows when to protect or when just to check things out. I got her at 2.5 years old and she's been amazing

You gave a very informed description of the Borzoi. Their temperament does vary in individuals. I have had several and only one hated other dogs. I had two who got along with my pet fox,ram and chickens. One did bite my father-in-law but dog was ok after a tetanus! They are generally lovely natured and a pleasure to own

Hunting dogs shouldn't be as delicate and frail as this video is making them out to be. At least the hounds,curs and mix breeds I grew up around stayed good fat and healthy on anything you fed them.

Ours was a Queensland, smartest dog I ever had. Taught my horses to come, got any cattle that crawled back in the pasture & protected us all when we needed him. He had longer hair, course ridge on his back & shorter legs then the ones I see now.

I want one of these dogs , but I don't like that hip thing ,and allergies. My bully had bad allergies,and ear infections. That was horrible. I got a pitbull now,and I could get a nice cur I would minus the allergies.

When they say long walks, they aren't kidding! My husband took ours on a 10 hour walk on a hot day (yes he brought plenty of water). When they got home, she lay down for half an hour, and then was raring to go again! I must mention this: bringing Lassie into BC history is so wrong. Lassie was a Scottish Collie, not a Border Collie. While also intelligent, they have nothing on the Border Collie for brains, are much bigger and heavier, have a completely different head shape, and have a different coat type.

Great info. One thing to add, pure blue stumpies should have no tan markings at all on their coat. Similar for reds but I'm unsure of the actual specifics of permissable and non permissable red markings. Cheers.
