Hi Shawn. Would like advice on how to thread tap a small Obsidian mantra bead that already has string holes all the way through the bead but needs a thread tap for 3.5mm. The bead is 12.1mmx8.1mm in size. The bead will be screwed onto a toggle switch as a DIY handle. The threaded part of the switch is 4.1mm in length by 3.5mm in diameter. Can this be done? Thank you.

When I worked in the public I've never used my mandrel to polish anything I've always used a big buffer it takes so much time doing it this way

Shawn, my name I Glenn Allan Maxwell, and I want to learn how to make Jewelry. I am 54 years old, retired USAF, Intel officer. And currently work as an Echocardiographer. This is my third career. I have an undergrad in General Engineering and my MBA. And all that is irrelevant because I am sick of shopping for the wonderful symbolism that jewelry can represent for those I love but can never find what I see in my mind. I need to create what I see!

I can set that stone without hammering outside the stone with a clean burnish. I’ve set thousands of stones!

I wonder why some jewelers don’t work with a ring holder or support the ring on the pin, that’s weird way of working.

Just got my round nose pliers, cut my ring and then used the long nose pliers to open it up. Just as you instructed, it worked like a charm, no E.R. and no Jeweler!!! 💯💯💯💯💯

Just wanted to say thanks, I found my 15yo son sitting on the kitchen floor at 2am with his finger in a glass of ice water and I had no idea why, found out it was because he got a ring stuck on his finger and couldn’t get it off, but had been trying to “fix it himself” for half a hour. It was a very stressful 20 minutes until I got the tin snips and cut it off. I don’t think I would have had the confidence to cut the ring myself without seeing your very straight forward example. Thank you.
