Hello friends, long time… Been very busy with work and life the last few years but I did manage to capture some ferry horns over the course of 2022/2023. All videos were shot on my phone so my apologies for the slightly worse audio/visual quality, but it does the trick :)) Happy New Years to everyone and I wish you all a prosperous 2024 🎉

Grew up hearing this several times every day growing up on the east side of Port Angeles. This, the courthouse clock bell, and the whistle at Olympic Cleaners every a.m.

The Spirit Class vessels(Spirit of BC & Spirit of Vancouver Island) have really quite horns for such large ferries. A nice comparison is at 1:57 when the Costal Celebration blows its horn, it’s horn is far louder than the Spirit of Vancouver Island when it blows it’s horn at 2:36 If you listen closely they make an announcement on the Coastal Celebration(probably warning passengers on the outside deck that the horn is about to sound). As for the Spirit of Vancouver Island, it’s horn is so quiet no warning announcement needed or given.
