Set up a Huawei B315 LTE router

The very basics of setting up an LTE router with external antennae This is the Huawei B315 with the Poynting A-XPOL-0001 LTE antenna
No engine landing in Grob 109b, followed by a solo towards my TMG rating
Просмотров 10 тыс.8 лет назад
I've held a PPL SEP(L) for many years, but recently flying a Grob 109b has meant I've had to get taildragger and a TMG rating - which meant training with a recognised training organisation, and a General Skills Test (this was not my GST!)
Good vid👌 thank You👍
Thank you!
Thanks for this instructions. 0:49 I have T20 screws but everything is very helpful. Greetings from Poland 😀
Thanks for your help and time! 🫡
Hi Thanks for your video, it was a great help. Without it there is a good chance we would have broken the door handle cable mechanism almost surely! The window had stopped going up and down. After using your video to get the trim off we discovered that a nut had come loose from the bottom of the winder mechanism , the retaining bolt had slipped out of the hole in the door and the whole mechanism had moved inward and dropped down, bringing it away from the drive motor gear. The bottom section of the foam cover was removed carefully using a Stanley knife blade to slice the glue layer between the foam and the door preserving the foam and allowing it to be reglued later. The rubber inspection plugs from the top of the door were taken out, showing the top mount for the winding mechanism, which had also slipped out of place. The nut holding the top of the mechanism had to be loosened to allow the whole thing to be lifted upwards and back into place so that it could be refastened too and bottom. We put threadlock on the bottom nut to stop it coming loose again. The foam was reglued in place with contact adhesive. Window works again and door trim back in place. Thank you!!
Thank you mate, finally a crafter 2017 video for removing the door covers. If you remove something else please make a video. Best wishes from Germany
Thanks for this buddy👌
Have you also removed the trim on the sliding door? Would be nice to have a video of that as well.
My van only has a plastic panel covering the sliding door (held in by some simple plastic locking pins) - so effectively no trim. I didn't realise some of them have trim on the sliding door!
@@georgeboydratcliff1036 I have the Grand California which is the campervan version of the Crafter. In this version, there is a soft textile covered trim all over the inside of the sliding door. (As well as the rest of the camper part of the vehicle.) I have an issue with the door opening mechanism (loose cable), I think I need to remove the trim to fix it.
Much appreciated I forgot about the external antenna settings xxx
This one can use international any country
Hey is it strong for live streaming?
i could not get an answer anywhere, but how do i know if i have to have the router beside the outside antenna are if i can put it 5 metres from the outside antenna, is there something in the routers specifications, i am asking for a different router an Alcatel HH71V1
Most antennas come with 5 or 10m of cable. You can also buy cable extensions (make sure you get the right connectors!) Though my experience is every extension loses you signal. So I've put my router within 5m of the antenna, then extended the connection from the router with an ethernet cable to another wifi router
A quick update for anyone following. I had terribly slow connections on my router the other day. It was caused by allowing the router to select which signal to use 'automatically' - it had chosen a dreadful 'Free' service instead of 'Orange' (in France). Free was showing 1 bar, Orange normally gives me a full 5 bars of 4G. You can manually choose the network by clicking [Connection settings] from the home page, then [Network Settings] from the left hand menu, and choosing [Network Search - Mode] as [Manual]. It gives you a list of the various networks it can find, and you choose the one you that looks the best. It appears the 'automatic' choice is often not a good one!
Thanks boss. Successful....
How do I hide or make my WiFi private so it’s not broadcasting but is hidden, any idea?
Yes, there's an option in the setup for "Hide SSID". Let me know if you can't find it
@@georgeboydratcliff1036 Am about to order the router so am exploring these options plus if I’m also able to block sites by MAC address such as RUclips for Parental reasons or Instagram.
hi there, how could i create a backup of router settings as we normally do in all other routers? Thanks!
Dang, that thing is cool
can i connect the router up to my desktop useing a ethernet cable ( might work better than wifi )
Yes, these routers have four traditional Ethernet connections too
@@georgeboydratcliff1036 but will i get better broadband with the ethernet connection instead of a wifi connection
@@Alancalan No, the wifi and Ethernet will almost certainly both be faster than your internet connection, so it won’t matter
@@georgeboydratcliff1036 i live in the countryside and my router is very slow. should i use the "Poynting A-XPOL-0001 LTE antenna " or what antenna would you recommened. I mean do you think the antenna you suggested will make my broadband any better
@@Alancalan I've had some success with the Poynting directional antenna. I put it up on the roof and then tried different directions while watching the signal strength (be away the displayed signal strength is *really* delayed - so you have to do it really slowly!) I've also done the same here in the UK, but with 5m extension cables, and the signal is worse than the built-in (rabbit ear) antenna. So I think the cable extension negated the better antenna!
would this device work from a battery given the power going into it is sufficient? i.e. can u use this device for example in a van?
I don't see why not. It uses a power supply integrated into the wall plug (12v 2A). There are specific van products (search Dan & Abi van build on RUclips - they fit one) PS I'm looking at a van build too!
@@georgeboydratcliff1036 oh nice! Ill look at it. Did you find anything which peaked your interest? My limitations will be data limit, i am still to find out what my average data usage is per month and my ideal speeds.
@@Sulfhur1k The problem with vans is because they're metal (you hope!) they shield the signal. So a "proper van solution" will have an external antenna. I use this router with an external antenna, but I suspect the proper van solutions will be better (proper low profile antenna stuck to roof)
Thats it goes with any sim card
Why is the ethernet led light the one that looks like a desktop blinking
He only has 107 subscribers. Yet, this helps a lot.
Hello If I forget a password of admin admin How I can to login???
Your only option is to reset the unit (holding something in the reset hole for 10 seconds) and then starting again. It's not too painful - takes about 10 minutes to reconfigure!
There very good in this things
does it have SMA connectors?
Your channel is gonna be huge . you did a good video
Ey
I just got B310 router, I tried 4 carriers and 4 different sim cards.... it doesn't work, say no service and second icon is red colored. any ideas? thanks
I've not used the B310, but can't think it will be significantly different. Is it unlocked (ie not tied to a network? I bought a second-hand B315 in the UK which claimed to be unlocked, but turned out to be locked to Orange!) Another thing to check is the SIMs have data capability. I don't know about France, but some UK carriers stop their SIMs working in 'data devices' ie mifi devices, and of course this router. Also, if you're using a UK SIM, have you checked is has been roaming enabled, and on the B315 you have to turn on roaming on the router interface too! What country are you in, and what carriers have you tried?
@@georgeboydratcliff1036 hey, hm, interesting. I'm in USA (New york), I personally have 3 different companies/carries - T-mobile, Verizon, At&t - all have unlimited internet data plan. I don't think this router is locked, because it would say so, right? I thought this routers are using "cell phone tech - to trick companies and provide data via Sim card with no issues" but you are saying these routers are only enabled if sim card have legit 'data devices' enabled feature by the carrier?
@@ALPHAGENXCORP I'm not sure I understand you? The router will work as a router (ie access point) whether you have a data connection or not. But if you're not getting data (because of your SIM / locked / etc) then it won't provide an internet connection. I'm not sure if it will tell you if it's locked to a provider. But you should be able to see the connection from the interface. (Also, keep an eye on the messages section - so text messages to the SIM as they can often give you a clue)
George BOYD RATCLIFF i think i just got older model, which supports well FDD rather than TDD (most 4G LTE carriers are using in USA) And in regards sim cards, i thought there are sim cards which only can work with routers, modems, tablets, and the same sim card not going to work with cell phone, i think most sim cards will work on all devices if there is internet data and the right bands/frequency, because i think this routers especially trick sim card to think they are in the mobile phone, and not in some type of other device, so should work as regular...
Thanks, you are a boss
Thanks🧡
I've done all of that and I still can't access the internet can you help
Hello sir Hawai rautor is not connected to my mobile ani pc what problems
Nic nie pomogło
Thanks. Been wanting to see whether it really is that simple but so many other videos then seem to some how complicate the issue. Clear and understandable. Thanks.
Mine went to brick mode only power led on and cant reset and do anything
Oooh that's not good. If it's a new one you can get it replaced under warranty. Were you doing a software update? I've bought a second one for the UK, and I bought a used one from eBay and have to say I've had a few problems with it. I wonder if some of the 'used' ones are where people have bought one locked to a particular network and tried getting round the restriction (there are some posts about how to do this - but it's tricky, and I guess would leave the firmware in a bad state)
@@georgeboydratcliff1036 yea but i bought it from person so no warranty. so bad luck :(((
Hey the yellow Ethernet cable which comes with the router is that a cat 5 or cat 6 cable ?
I don't know! I believe most cat cables have it printed on them
Good one. Thanks George.
Can you change what channel the device is broadcasting WIFI on? If so can you do a video on the subject. Analysing my unit the software says I am on channel 8 but have a couple of local people on 6 & 7 and it recommends channel 4 for me but I don't know how to change the unit. Thanks. George
How to hack speed limit?
How to hack speed limit?
Nice video. if you coordinate the rudder and ailerons it feels a lot more comfortable and you won't have the adverse yaw. As soon as you touch down i'd pull the airbrakes fully out until your below 40kts
Hi David, the crossed controls were on purpose! I was too high, and had full airbrakes, so side slipping was my best option! But it's horribly uncomfortable!
@@georgeboydratcliff1036 Hi George . I noticed the side slipping . I meant at around 2.20 ish. As soon as you were airborne and you had corrected for slipstream with the rudder the rudder pedals hardly moved.
@@davidbolam576 Hi David - oh I see what you mean! Yes, I came from a Robin HR200 where the rudder pedals were simply foot rests :-)
sir, does huawei b315s-936 supports vpn passthrough?
I'll be honest with you Mark ... this is way beyond my networking skills! But a quick Google implies that you can? mybroadband.co.za/forum/threads/vpn-and-dyndns-huawei-b315s.853947/
How do you turn it off? Do you need firstly turn off from the power button and only then remove from wall adapter or you just pull out power adapter?
There's a power button, or you can just pull the power!
I know you are using 3 SIM card. But what kind of package are you using ?
78mbps 4bars 4G. Waiting for fibre ;-;
Thank you
Does this router support 4G+
Rizwan Smith I’m not sure about 4G+, it supports LTE which is often referred to as 4.5G. So I suspect this is the same thing as 4G+?
@@georgeboydratcliff1036 I contacted my internet provider they said 4G and 4G+ is same thing
@@georgeboydratcliff1036 4.5G I didn't knew that. Thank you for quick respond I appreciate it
It does
please how do I block downloads on B315s
Hi. Not sure I understand what you are trying to do?
Hello mate, nice flying. A tip is to pitch the nose slightly more during flare. Currently you are landing it like you land a dc3 short field
Darth Disious It’s a fine balance with the Grob, much more nose up than that and you get a tailwheel first landing!
Nice post. Which school has the grob?
Sorry only just seen your comment (only 8 months late!) It's a syndicate plane, I joined the syndicate and then had to do my differences training (TMG and tailwheel)
