How to Build a Beginner Bonsai Bench
Having just bought my first few pre-bonsai plants and after reading up on the art of bonsai, I decided I'd tackle my first woodworking project and build a bonsai bench that will last me for years. Aside from a drill, I used no other power tools in designing and completing this project (I had the wood cut for me at Home Depot at lengths that I marked). I made many mistakes along the way and there may be easier ways to complete this project that I don't know about--but, I learned a lot and am thrilled withthe final result. Hopefully this video/channel will be useful for you. More beginner bonsai videos to come soon.

I really like the Woodglut plans.
On the Woodprix website, you buy access to thousands of projects once.
Can you explain why you only used 3 connectors instead of six, and do you think it is sturdy enough with no support at the top of the posts? Buying lumber this week. Love this design and look. Perfect for here in California.
BULLSHIT
Great tips Buddy now having a crack at one!
Hi. If you want to build it yourself just google for 'woodprix' . I know you'll find good solutions for your idea.
You could easily do this using smaller wood than 2x4s for the slats... those seem a bit like overkill.
I made it with WoodPrix handbooks !
everything is great but I have to shut the music
i made it too. just used woodprix instructions. just click the pig on that website :)))
if my maths is correct 74" lengths divide by 15 x 4" slats = 60" then 4x2" used as spacers is 14 spaces x 2", which does not make 74" lengths..? However 15 slats with 1" gaps is exactly 74" (15 x 4)(14 x 1) So you are using 1 " gaps correct?
JJ Henters 2x4s are not true 2”x4”. They’re 1.5”x3.5” so you have to change your math to: (15x3.5”) and (14x1.5”) which equals 73.5”
What is the height of the two levels (measured at the top)? Thanks! Good job!
I'm a beginner to bonsai myself from here in the UK and have been searching around for plans to build my own display bench and like you I found the OrlandoBonsai video and was originally going to build that but definitely like this version/improvement better and will be building it too.
