First person footage from Newzealand
SIKA SHAMBLES!!! NZ bush hunting , unsuccessful Hunt for deer in the Native NZ forest , spring time.
Not all hunts go to plan , and this is a classic outcome sometimes when hunting tight bush in Newzealand ,
Spring time brings the deer out into open and gets them moving around chasing the spring growth , only down side is the unpredictable winds and loud crunching forest floors , its always hard to get the jump on sika deer in tight bush in these conditions but its always better than sitting at home .
enjoy the video !!

CLOSE RANGE SHOOTING!!! NZ bush hunting (deer), Kaweka Range
Просмотров 13 тыс.Месяц назад
Follow along for a successful hunt deep in the New Zealand Native bush targeting SIKA deer. Winter hunting SIKA deer in New Zealand is good fun if you can find them , I strapped a camera to my pack strap to get first person footage of a typical bush hunt this time of year . First time doing a video so feedback would be great. like and comment bellow !! UPDATE - Gun details below, !! Gun - Tikka...
Awesome mate. My style of hunting. Be cool to see some more!
cheers mate , just got to find time to get out between kids and work and there will be some more videos lol!!
Mean hunting up that area mate I’ve hunted there for years recognised most of the video 👍 bloody awesome spot
@@NickEvans-b1v great spot in the kawekas aye nick 🤫
@@KehuaNZ hard out my man no need to worry about me 😎 might see you up there some day mate
Nice open bush there, looks similar to where I hunt the kaimanawas. Bush stalking is the hardest style for getting deer but the most rewarding when you get one. 👍
It sure is
Mate, love the vid. Sika are doing me head in. 3 hunts, one seen. Nothing on the deck
Have you tried roaring sika in all year round? It works. They're curious as hell and can't resist sneaking in for a look.
@@NZ-Culler no, but I'll give it a go. Next trip I'll push further away from Kiko road end maybe give out a roar. Cheers for the tip
@charleshunting I'm in turangi and hunted kiko lots over the year's then moved south for 4 years but back again now. Lots of deer in there specially since access was cut off for a long time
Just keep at it @charleshunting , my only thing id advise (if your not already doing it ) Is when you hit some good sign ,old or new, or sign of deer in the area feeding (look for browsing on grass ,trees and leaf litter), slow down , take 5 or six slow steps and scan through the bush with your binos / rifle scope , its almost like x ray vision seeing into the bush past were your naked eye cant , look for horizontal lines like a deer's back or texture /color differences to the baseline environment , and also movement , I've picked up 80% of my deer by doing this , sometimes repeating the slow steps and scanning process for hours before picking one up. But even if you do everything right they can still get the jump on you hahah
@@KehuaNZ great advice. Need to apply it more methodically. I agree, don't use the scope enough..in the dim light under canopy it's like a flash light
Keep the videos coming dude. 😎😎😎😎😎😎😎😎😎😎
Oh dude another sick video and keeping it real with the fact you got busted and not every hunt you jag one keep it up 🤙

obrigado amigo, em breve trabalharei em um novo vídeo
这种狩猎放式不错就是需要体气❤
What a waste tho....
appreciate your point of view jimmy , real world hunting sometimes isn't perfect for full meat recovery . Every bush hunter knows this .
Fair enough so many do it this way and gues typically still plenty out there and yes depending where u r bloody hard to recover just seems like such a waste wen so much more good meat left on it. Otherwise enjoyed the vid 🙃
@@jimmypmalibu007 Only shanks and ribs left. Need a saw to get those.
@@stephenhowe4683 well no u gut it and take whole carcass but yeah not much point when hit where this was I guess
Awesome bit of action bro cant beat the pursuit of chasing a stag or any animal for kai deep in the bush, just subscribe cheers 👍🔥

@@KehuaNZ such a great gun. Hope to see more videos!
Nice video! I’m curious what scope you are using on your rifle?
Thanks mate , Just an older model Burris full field E1 3x9 , i find the 3 power great for the close range bush hunting .
