It's actually a great way to learn hop turns. Kid clearly knows how to hop/jump. He will connect his turns eventually. That's when the poles become essential.

My kids are going down blacks and soon double blacks w/o poles. I don’t get poles with my snowboard and I can get down.

Not at all. If anything, there is stress on the ankles in really long runs if you're boots are really big, and you don't have good flexibility. But the pads are more than enough to give the knees some nice padding.

Hehe, yea. Thats a tricky one. Sorry. Use this tutorial to find the Moon with your trajectory, and adjust it as best you can until it wraps around in an elongated orbit, and then hit the cut engine button. The Moon is hard to find, because its moving to the right. So you'll have to try a few times. But basically, just go full blast the whole time. As soon as you get to stage 2, zoom out til you see the Moon, and throttle at 100% along your path and watch your trajectory grow to over 300,000km. Slow it down then, and hopefully a blue circle will show up and your trajectory will wrap around it. When you see that, cut engine, and press fast forward and then wait for a while, until the ship passes the Moon. Good luck!
