In Ancient City you are 1 french horn short. Is the euphonium substitute for horn 3? Or is this a different arrangment of the piece?

Oh, strange. I added a comment, but it has disappeared. If it was against any to me unknown rules, I apologise. If so, would whoever removed it clarify?
I'm not sure why it would have disappeared, Janneke, but I do see this comment. Thank you for watching! Alison
@alisondeadman3473 I think it may have been because I included a few links in my comments, and I have since learned that apparently RUclips doesn't like them. For example, I thought viewers would be helped with a link to the WYAS page for the first journal page and a link for PackedwithPotential for our Performing Arts Tracker.
FYI, Lister wrote she sang an octave lower on 21st Sept 1824: "Happening to say that her voice was different from mine, plus haute, she would have it, it was not - we each sang a few notes - Madame Galvani then allowed my voice was an octave lower than hers - would not have believed it, if she had not heard me sing - said my lowest notes were good ‘très claires trés purses’ [very clear very pure] from the poitrine [chest] but my higher ones were, like those of all the English, from the throat -".
Thank you, John, this is great to know - I'll look into this :) Galvani was a "high" soprano if I remember correclty and a contralto could have had a vocal range an octave lower without singing in the tenor range; however, this is suggestive (and an alto would not have sung "Last Words of Marmion" up in the published range that Linda sang for us today! I am up to 1822 in reading through the complete journals, so I'm delighted to know that there is extra information to come that looks as if it would support my theory!
@@alisondeadman3473 I guess you mean the soprano Madame Catalani? Madame Galvani was one of Lister's Parisian friends, and I don't remember her exact range was mentioned. I suppose the implication of the quote is that Mme Galvani had a relatively low speaking voice (thus led to her disbelief), but when it came to singing, she and Lister diverged.
@@johnh.watson6511 Yes, I do. My apologies. I was writing fast yesterday as a student was just coming to my office hours and I wanted to respond to your commet!
Bravo!!
Great job boys!!! Uncle Doug and Auntie Marge love you
