My fan fiction: Hawkeye becomes a small town dr and eventually marries a younger, down-to-earth woman when he is in his 50s. Margaret is always the pinnacle of what a woman is to him. BJ goes home but has a lot of trouble adjusting to normal life. He doesn't know how to fit his experiences of the war into his family life which has been his lifeline all those years. It takes years to fight his demons and start to share with Peggy, and strains their marriage but ultimately Peggy sticks by him and helps him through when he eventually starts to open up. Margaret becomes a matron at a big hospital and never marries but does settle into a long term, stable relationship with an older man who looks after her both physically and emotionally. Hawkeye is always a fond memory that she can never quite shake. I'm still working on the others...

M*A*S*H is my favourite show and also very sentimental as it was my now deceased Dad's favourite too. It is one of the best TV episodes ever, in my opinion. I haven't watched your video yet, but I'll let you know if I agree with your comments ♡ 21:40 First edit: The moment in Hawkeye's therapy when he remembers is one of the most gut-wrenching scenes I've ever seen. I've seen GFA dozens of times, and it still makes me tear up. Amazing acting by Alan Alda (who, as Hawkeye, was probably my first TV crush). 38:47 edit 2: Mozart's clarinet quintet makes me sob because of how things play out. David Ogden Stiers acting when he plays the record and then smashes it and then admits that it will now always be a reminder... Amazing. 54:20 third edit: you've gotta remember that even though Jamie Farr had grey hairs, Klinger was only supposed to be 3 years older than the early to mid-20s that he was portrayed as early in the series. I had similar issues with Radar in season eight. He was only supposed to be in his late teens, no more than 21, but Gary Burghoff looked about 50. Final edit: 10/10!! Love your comments! We'd be friends in real life 😂

This brought back soooo many memories. I lived in West Point, NY in 1981 and the Bob Hope Show was filmed there. Since my dad was in the army and managed the uniforms I was able to be backstage for the whole show and for some reason I was by myself (I was 13 and shy). I met Marie Osmond, Brooke Shields and her mom, Glen Campbell, Mickey Rooney and many more. It was so cool to watch Brooke Shields come in with no make up or hair done and see her transformed into the Brooke Shields in the Calvin Klein ads and that she was shy too. It did show me that she doesn’t wake up looking perfect. Marie Osmond was super nice to me and very professional. I was in awe of them. I still have all their autographs and it was such a fun day. It took 10 hours to film the hour show. I never thought to take a camera! How different from today with cell phones and posting to IG. Haha. Does anyone remember shopping at The Limited? That’s where we wore our v-neck sweaters backwards with Mia flats. I loved that store - probably around 1984 or so.

I agree. I think taking Karen out from behind the drums probably contributed to her anorexia. She could no longer hide and people could criticize every bump and bulge (though she was never fat, but just a bit curvy).

I just found your show in the last few days. Love what your doing! Have only had a chance to listen to 4 episodes but can't be more impressed with your prep work, chemistry & passion. This trib to ONJ was perfect! I'm a superfan of the Stuck in the 80's pod for several yrs - and this is a perfect companion (with a little more stuck in the 70's). Sounds like I'm a few yrs younger than you ladies but my entire childhood is within the 70's & 80's - so I've gotta soft spot for all of this. I need to listen to the Kristy McNichol episodes. She was my OG celebrity crush & in the last few months I've been binging Family on the Tubi app. Bless them for streaming the entire series. I don't think I'd seen it since the 70's & have been blown away at the quality. In this week's Smartless pod (Vince Vaughn as guest), Jason Bateman talks about McNichol being his OG crush & tells a story of being 10 yrs old & suddenly being in tears over McNichol. Amazingly, he never met her

I listened to the radio almost all the time....Dancing Queen, Weekend In New England, Evergreen, Torn Between Two Lovers Rich Girl & Don't Give Up On Us were getting mucho airplay! Love Hotel California! Nadia's Theme was great too.

I never knew Andy & Marie Osmond were romantically linked. I don't believe Andy & Olivia were romantic. She was a fan of the Bee Gees and recorded several of their songs over the years. She recorded duets with Barry as well as Andy. She did have Andy on a couple of her specials. Michael Beck did look like Andy. I remember watching him on Solid Gold, at the time I didn't know he was having personal problems.

My older brother had the 8track of Shadow Dancing, but he didn't play it very often. Some years back, I bought the Greatest Hits cd. IMO Andy had the best voice of any of the Gibbs. Some songs (Desire) don't do much for me, but mostly it's a great collection. I also wish the record company had released Rest Your Love on Me as a single instead of I Can't Help It.

  • @JamesThomson-gj9nv

Great choices! I had the Don't Cry Out Loud 45. My older brother had Devil Went Down to Georgia on 8track. My younger brother (John) had the Tragedy 45. He and I listened to Casey Kasem's top 40. He would make his own top 40 charts, but only had 3 singles: Tragedy, I Was Made For Dancing & one by the Little River band. He also had one album by Little River Band. The top 20 was comprised of both sides of each single and every album track on his lp. From about 20 on down it got really interesting...things like a Christmas song from the Perry Como lp, a children's song from our Burl Ives lp, and a Strauss waltz from one of dad's albums! I was hugely into Abba, Blondie, Olivia Newton-John, Crystal Gayle, John Denver and Barry Manilow, and many others!

I think Weekend in New England is my favorite. Music videos were not much of a thing yet, but in my mind the lyrics created a picture ...."long rocky beaches and you by the bay" The winter of '77 was really harsh and we missed a lot of school. I passed the time listening to the radio and this song was in heavy rotation. Special mention to "Ships", I still relate to the lyrics. And the song "All the TIme" just an album cut, but I love it.
