BTC-S37 Mining Rig Performance / November 2021-January 2022
It' been 1.5-2 months since I set up my first mining rig with 4 GPUs and in this video I'm sharing how I increased my mining rig from 4 GPUs to 8 GPUs, how I added 4 fans with a DC voltage regulator in front of it, latest situation with HiveOS and card orders. I'm also talking about the overcurrent protection and WiFi power socket I bought for the rig.

do i need to power all 8 on board slots localted just down to the pcie slots in order top run all 8 gpu( i am already using gpu power cables to power gpu)? or just powering 3-4 is fine to run all gpu?
You need to power each riser you're using individually. Right now I'm running the rig with 7 cards and it's drawing 1354W from the wall. All the cards are limited with 130W power so it sums up to 910W. 1354-910=444W Divided by 7 PCIE slots 444/7=63W is the amount of power each riser is consuming, give or take. So if you connect less riser power sockets they're still going to draw that power but your cables and connections will be under more load than they should be. It could be all right with your method, but I wouldn't try honestly.

12:10 cable thickness doesn't matter that much, weakest part is always the connection. That's why standard PSUs have 2 * 6+2pin connectors feeding from 1 cable.

absolutely not. im returning mine today since it can not handle more than 5 GTX 1660 SUPER Graphics Cards. im using 1800W PSU and the motherboard still didnt boot correctly.

Bang saya punya kendala sama Mobo ini, jadi saya beli Mobo ini dari marketplace nah itu udah semu muanya, bahkan sampai windows pun sudah ada, nahh saya coba sebelum pake VGA berjalan normal tidak ada hambatan, sampai muncul screen windows, nah kemudia saya matiin dan saya tancepin VGA GTX 1660s nah saya nyalain lagi, ko malah ngga mau nampilin gambar? Padahal cpu kipas nyala semua, bahkan yang awalanya indikator port lan maupun lampu mouse, keyboard menyala setelah ada VGA malah jadi engga nyala. Itu kira kira permasalahanya dimana ya? Atau VGA nya ngga support atau bagaimana gitu
Hi, I haven't connected any mouse, keyboard or monitor to the mobo so far. I didn't feel the need to connect anything because preinstalled HiveOS USB drive handled everything perfectly so far. So I don't have the answer to your question, sorry.

Sıcaklıklarınız çok yüksek riser kullanın ve kartları ayırın hocam. Bu şekilde yazı geçiremezsiniz. Biraz atlaya atlaya izledim videoyu arada bir şey söylediniz mi bilmiyorum ama o şekilde dip dibe kartları kullanmak su soğutma ya da klima yoksa çok büyük sorun yaratır size. Saygılar
riser kullanmayı denedim ama şimdilik başarılı olamadım, sıcaklıklar sorun olmaya başlarsa ya bir anakart daha alacağım ya da riser işini bir şekilde çözeceğim mutlaka, aklımda. teşekkür ederim uyarınız için.

Are you supplying enough power for 3x3090's? Maybe PSU capacity is not enough to run all 3 of them.

Of all the cards i have this one is the most efficient and coolest running. If you ever come across an Asus 5700XT Dual buy it. Radeon RX 5700 XT 8176 MB · ASUS Samsung GDDR6 · 52.35 MH 40° 66° 61% 101 W
if I build another rig in the future I'll build with AMD cards, I definitely will remember this. cheers.
i assume by your accent you are in a 220v environment. This PS only delivers 900 watts on 120v
nice info, cheers! so I'm running 4 cards @140w each which totals up to 560w. and also risers consume 75w each apparently so that's another 300w, which totals up to 860w. If what you say is correct, then those bad boys are running at their limits. I'll buy higher grade ones as spares if that's the case. cheers! edit: oh you wrote they run at 900w@120v environment. then I'm doing okay :)

I have this mb too, but this board really piss me off . The first time I tried this board, it can run only 2x3060 lhr. While the third 3060 is on board, the cpu fan won't start up. I was blaming my PSU, so I bought another 3 new PSU, and result the same. I have debug this board for a month, now it get worse. It don't show any image on monitor or enter bios, even I put no card on board. End up, I bought another board, move the same cards to the new one. All thing just get done in 30 minutes.
Sorry you went through all that hassle. There's always a risk when you make a purchase as this. I'm also slightly suspecting my second PCIe slot runs any card attached on it a bit hotter than the others but I can't prove it so far.
Just a thought. Did you try to update the bios? A lot of issues with this board can be solved this way

I've ordered this board. I wonder if you can use a riser with this board. For example if i had a hot GPU to move it away with a riser cable. . Could you use a normal riser card with the usb cord like you can with a normal mining MB?
I tried the exact same thing you described. People can do it apparently but I couldn't manage to make it work with a riser so far. When I connect a GPU via riser, mobo won't boot at all. I'll look more into it and if I manage to solve the problem I'll make another video for it. I'm just too lazy to connect a monitor and a keyboard to the rig lol :)
@@slashminus Cool let me know. I will test when i get my board. Risers i have are Ubit PCI-E Riser Express Cable 16X to 1X (6pin / MOLEX/SATA) with Led Graphics Extension
@@johnmiller9219 Sure, the risers I have are cheap OEM risers which I haven't tested on any other system. Maybe those are the ones causing the problem.
Hocam merhaba, Bu sistem normal power supply ile çalıştırılabiliyor mu? İlla server supply ına ihtiyaç yok sanırım? Bu anakartta iki normal pc psu birleştirmek istersek nasıl yapıyoruz bilginiz var mı?
eğer tüm psu soketlerinizi 6pin ya da 8pin yapabilirseniz tabii kullanabilirsiniz. pc psu'sundaki 24 pin sokette iki adet pini kısa devre yapmanız gerekebilir, zaten videoda görmüşsünüzdür o iş için aparat kutudan çıkıyor.
@@slashminus Peki 2 pc psu su birleştirip sisteme güç vermek istediğimiz senaryoda nasıl ilerlemeliyiz? Farkettiğim üzere anakart üzerinde 24 pin girişi yok
@@furkanayaz8009 evet anakart riser'ların güç soketlerinden besleniyoer, kendine ait ayrıca bir güç soketi yok. riser'ların herhangi birine güç sağlamanız yeterli.

how did you connect the internet for the motherboard? we must use the LAN cable ? or we can use wifi usb dongle?
I connected the mobo via LAN cable but I've seen people using USB dongles to connect via wi-fi. I don't know how to setup wifi adapter though, I still haven't had the need to connect a keyboard or a monitor so far, thanks to HiveOS!
@@slashminus i already got my mobo connected to internet now.. but i havent use monitor on the hdmi port. i opened my hiveos account but no GPU detected. so confused now
@@FPCooker did you create a flight sheet, apply it to your worker, and download the .conf file from hiveOS website and drag it in your HiveOS drive main folder? I believe it sounds more likely that it's you HiveOS configuration needs to be checked. Better watch some HiveOS setup tutorials. That's how I did it even before I got my hands on the motherboard.

@@FPCooker if everything's correct on software side, I suggest you check your PSU, GPU and cables to see if they actually are working on another device.

Hello! Nice video. One tip about the PSU, if you want it to make less noise, you have to plug it into a 220V line, if you use 120V it will make that noise, and also will only deliver 900V instead of 1200V.

How did you configure it for a first run on usb? Just hook up keyboard?

I downloaded .conf file from HiveOS website and dragged - dropped it into the USB stick. I'll make a basic tutorial video about it in the future maybe but there are tons of instruction videos that guide you step by step, I suggest watch one of them. I did by doing so. :) I never connected any keyboard/mouse or monitor to my rig so far.
Great video, thank you! Wanted to ask you why did you pick HiveOS over Windows 10 Operating system? Any advantages there? I am also about to setup my first rig and not sure which OS to pick. I have been mining for a while using my laptop. Will be great if you could make a step by step video for setting up OS on mining rigs.
Hi, sorry for late reply. I chose HiveOS because it is convenient to use with just a simple web interface. I can control fan speed, update my mining software, OC and undervolt my cards by watching their tempereatures etc. from anywhere, just by the mobile app. And HiveOS is easier to install and maintain in my opinion. Just flash an old USB stick and you're good to go!
Howdy, I've used both HiveOS and Windows. Mainly Minerstat for Windows. Both are great options and have advantages and disadvantages. Nvidia currently doesn't have a driver that supports memory temp monitoring on Linux which is what HiveOS runs on. So if you have a card that struggles with memory temps like a 3090, then I'd say run Windows. If not you're fine with HiveOS. It's really a personal preference on what user interface you like. Try them both and see what you like. Both can work fine.

3060ti hynix lerim için hiveos ayarlarım: core 1450, mem 1750, pl 140. Ortalama 43,5hr alıyorum. Core temp 42-45 derece de fanı minimum %50 max %99 olarak ayarladım. 1 haftanın üzerinde aralıksız rahatlıkla bu ayarlarda çalıştırıyorum. En güzel oc ayarlarını redditten bulabilirsin. Pcie girişi de 75W çeker kart başına. Bende kartların %100 PL üzerine 75W ekleyerek psu hesabı yapıyorum. Öncesinde eth kazdığım sistemle flux a geçince PL leri yukarı çekip psu yu kavurmuştum

Miner'dan miner'a değişiyor sanırım yapılan ayarın sayısal değerleri, doğru mudur? T-rex miner kullanıyorum LHR unlock için en iyisi o diye bildiğimden dolayı. ETH için sizce hangisini kullanmalıyım? Akşam eve gidince verdiğiniz değerleri deneyeceğim. Kıymetli bilgiler için çok sağolun.
@@slashminus ne demek, geçen ay trex daha performanslıydı ama 2 haftadır nbminer lhr lock olmadan çok stabil çalışıyor. Bir diğer husus nvidia driverı. 470.82.00 yükleyerek deneyin
