Researching, acquiring and shooting interesting firearms - mostly machineguns.
Beretta PM12S Submachinegun (Fucile mitragliatore Beretta PM12S)
The Beretta PM12S is an Italian submachinegun designed by famed Italian firearms manufacturer Beretta (Fabbrica d'Armi Pietro Beretta S.p.A.) in 1978. Production began initially as the PM12 in 1959. Despite having a sheet metal receiver, the PM12S is a very robust, durable, accurate and reliable firearm and features a 100 or 200m flip rear sight, fixed firing pin, telescopic bolt, grip safety, chrome-lined barrel & bolt and select-fire capability. The BM12S and its variant the BM12S2 fit well in the hands, have excellent balance and have modest recoil making them easy to keep on target and a pleasure to shoot. Not surprisingly, law enforcement and military users are widespread globally in...

The Lanchester submachinegun is a British firearm which was reverse engineered from the German MP28/II, developed by George Lanchester and produced by Sterling Armaments Company from 1941 to 1945. Two variants were manufactured, the Mk. 1 which was similar to the MP28 in that it was select-fire capable and had a graduated rear sight up to 600 yards and the Mk. 1* which featured full-auto only f...
UC-9 Folding Submachinegun
The brainchild of the late American Utah Conner, the UC-9 is an "under cover" folding submachinegun developed in the 1980s. Apparently Conner manufactured only one complete UC-9 but did manage to register at least 76 receivers before the Firearms Owners Protection Act of 1986 ban the new admission of any additional fully transferable machineguns into the United States National Firearms Registra...

Developed in Sweden by Gunnar Johansson during the last years of World War 2, the M/45 submachinegun or "Swedish K", as it's often called in the United States, was formally adopted by the Swedish military in 1945. Despite much of it being manufactured using stamped sheet metal, the gun is extremely robust and reliable and operates simply as an open bolt full-auto only weapon. The 45/M saw signi...
MP 34 (Maschinenpistole 34)
Designed by famed European arms designer Louis Stange in the 1920s and put into production by Steyr Waffenfabrik of Austria as early as 1929 , the MP34 was exceptionally well-made and likely the best made submachinegun produced up to that time. Only top quality materials, expertise and manufacturing techniques were used to construct the MP34 and it shows. The gun presents very well, fells very ...

Australian Austen Mark I Submachinegun

When Australia entered World War 2, much like her allies, the country found itself without a significant quantity of submachineguns. In response, Great Britain supplied it's Sten submachinegun technical data and several samples to Australia for possible production. Australian small arms manufacturers were less than impressed with the British Sten and sought to design and produce a "better" weap...
Erma EMP Submachinegun
The Erma EMP (Erma Maschinenpistole) is an yet another inter-world war select-fire submachinegun developed and produced in Germany initially by Heinrich Vollmer in the late 1920s. Vollmer made only 400 guns before the manufacturing rights were sold to Erma who reportedly produced over 10,000 guns from 1931 to 1938. Like nearly all inter-war submachineguns, the receiver is milled and well-made m...
MP 18 (Maschinenpistole 18)

The MP 18 was the first practical portable machinegun (the first machinegun was the impractical Italian 1915 Model Villar-Perosa ) developed by none other than famed German weapons designer Hugo Schmisser during the later half of World War I. At that time, German tacticians foresaw the need for a light, portable pistol caliber weapon capable of burst or fully-automatic fire for infiltrative mis...

The MP 41 submachinegun was developed by famous German small arms designer Hugo Schmeisser at C.G. Haenel in Suhl, Germany in the very early 1940s. The weapon is a essentially a hybrid of the MP 28, II and MP 40 submachineguns, borrowing components and mechanics from both firearms. Like the MP 28, II, the MP 41 features a wooden stock and select-fire capability due to its similarly complicated ...

The PPS 43 submachinegun is the culmination of Soviet efforts to maximize pistol-caliber fully-automatic small arms manufacturing during World War 2. Initially developed by Alexei Sudayev as the PPS 42, modest production reportedly began in Leningrad in 1942 before several improvements were made resulting in the PPS 43. PPS 43 mass production started in 1943 and continued until at least 1946. T...

The MP35 is a submachinegun that was developed by German small arms designer Theodor Emil Bergmann in the early 1930s. Initial production began as the MP32 with the Danish firm Schultz & Larsen and about 2,000 units were made. Bergmann slightly modified the gun by removing the recoil buffer located at the rear of the receiver resulting in the MP34 which was manufactured by Walther in Germany fr...
MP 38 Submachinegun

The Germans carefully studied the close quarters combat battles of World War I and correctly foresaw and predicted the need for a pistol caliber automatic weapon (that was not a handgun) for armed forces service. The MP 38 was result of the result of years of submachinegun research and development in the 1930s. Revolutionary for its time, the MP 38 features: a machined tubular steel receiver, a...
It better than mp40
Very slow rate of fire
Way to go! The MP-38 is a great gun, beautifully milled steel. I have one myself, mine is marked "AYF-41", made by Erma in 1941. The last year of MP-38 production. Mine is in original WW2 condition with matching numbers. Although the bolt is an un-numbered armorers replacement bolt with the "push safety" handle. This bolt was most likely installed during the war. Paid an arm and a leg for it. The most expensive thing I have ever bought. And the most beautiful thing I own.
Now this is captivating
The machine gun weighs 10 kilograms. And a bayonet knife was attached to this machine gun. In the best traditions of the samurai.
If you listen closely, you can hear someone shouting PERKELE when its firing
the fact that this is age restricted is crazy
This Is Medal Of Honor Rising Sun, no?
Well done! Nothing like that noble steel!!!
Nice exotic smg
I used that in the military and it was a very reliable weapon. I was assigned it as personnel defense. We used to call it a peegun due to the lack of power in the 9mm shots.
You’re in the middle of the desert yet you need an orange safety cone on either side of you? lol
The orange color makes for a more eye-popping thumbnail and provides some nice contrast with surrounding brown hills/mountains.
Didnt think of it that way tbh fair enough @maxfaxdude
Bro leans in as if it’s got a hefty kick😂, it’s less powerful than the German 9mm of the time.
True...but good form and posture should be exercised when using all firearms, regardless of caliber or recoil.
Beautiful piece of industrial and military history. Thank you for preserving and respecting it.
Absolutely...the reason I have this channel is to preserve and show firearms of historical significance. I'm working on getting more videos out soon. So stay tuned!
Senapan Apa gitar
I had a idea of a fiction machine gun called mg31 and this was the design base the mg81 but with out the muzzle flash system and a 2 mag design
Thank you for not full autp magdumping like all those cards out there
I find it crazy you even got one of these, only about 26k of these were made during World War 2
Weren’t they produced after the war too? I’m not too sure but I vaguely remember them being in service in both Germanies and in Romania
Beautiful piece of machinery
It fires slower than m60 😂
I need 9000000000000000000000000000000000999990 of those to buy
Is there any recoil at all?
Thank you for no full auto, using it as intended
Thank you so much for not dumping the whole mag
why are you wearing gloves and then put your greasy face all over it?
Almost like a laser 😂
that's a rare gun
That things in good shape
Yes it is!
Man this is one of my dream sub machineguns to have some day. This and the Erma EMP. That Mp34 is the perfect Rate of Fire. Great video as always. And do you plan on making more videos with your Type 99 ?
US marines and soldiers had a healthy respect for the Type 99. It was a pretty handy and capable weapon.
My dream sub gun, good stuff man
Same
it has to a great extent a resemblance of the British Bren LMG
I fucking love your channel bro. The only thing I ask is one mag dump per video, or at least let it rip for a couple rounds, not everyone is a connoseur ya know <3
Your collection / featured weapons are incredible, but if you are serious about building a following, you need to have a good mix of both information and content. Does watching your videos excite you at all? Would it excite us? FPSRussia shot watermelons, explosions, cars, etc etc, and ForgottenWeapons does long historical explanations about the featured guns. You don't need to get as crazy or historical as other gun channels, but at the bare minimum shoot the guns for longer and to put the info you have in the description into the video (we come to YT to watch videos, not to read anything). You go through all the time and trouble of bringing a gun to the range, loading, shooting, and making it dirty to clean later, just for a 19 second clip that's been viewed less than 200x? It's like opening then closing a pizza shop just to make and sell one $10 pizza for the day. There are so many video games, movies, and audience members who love these rare MG's that you have, but no one knows that you exist, and then you shoot one mag for 20 seconds, and it's over! These videos have to be the worst gun videos on YT, but there is so much potential! Please make some updates, or partner with a really popular gun youtuber near you and let them shoot these mg's then split the monetization rewards. I am so excited for how much money you can make here, and how many people will get to learn about these amazing historical pieces once you make some changes.... Thank you so much for making these!
Was that a full 30 rounds?
AK47 of Japanese army in WW2, just like Knee mortar being RPG7 of Japanese army.
Bro got the pharaohs echo
Hi. Can I use the audio from your videos to make gun sound effects? I want to use them in a video game mod and release them for free.
If it's for free, that's ok by me.
@@maxfaxdude Thank you. Just to clarify, should I release them under CC BY-NC? This means that the sounds can only be used in free works (e.g. games) that are not sold for money.
@smillandwelson-23 I've gotta be honest, I don't know what that means. Just as long as it's not for profit. RUclips policy is not to monetize any gun shooting videos.
@@maxfaxdude I think I'll release them for non-commercial use (aka non-profit). In short, if someone wanted to make a game using sounds I made from your videos, they can't sell it for money. If someone uses the sounds in a video game, they will have to put you and me in the credits. Something like "MP34 Reload Sounds - The Machinegun Kid & smill.and.welson"
❤❤
“Miller put smoke on that machine gun!”
Where can I get magazines for this weapon?
If you are in the US, the slab-sided magazines can be found on Gunbroker or at Apex Gun Parts. The S drum magazines are very, very rare and almost impossible to find anywhere.
My only favorite Japanese machine gun of WW2.
An evolutionary development of the MG15 Bergmann 😊
Can only imagine the damage a well trained MG crew with one of these was capable of. Accented with the slow fire rate of the Type 92 and bursts from this? No wonder landings were so costly
That gun looks pretty ergo.
Hello, does anyone know what the curved steel sections that run from the middle of the machine guns to the outside are used for? Are they for the spent cartridges to escape from? You can see them clearly at 3.13 many thanks
