Roadies n Rockstars
Добавлен 28 авг 2013
Roadies n Rockstars is about the comedy , absurdity and backstage madness of working in the concert business.
After watching all the best bands in the 70's, and 80's to working with them as a pro audio guy...I have plenty to say about the music industry, how we got here and where is it going...
After 40 years in the concert audio business I can attest that what happens on stage is usually the least interesting aspect of the day. The people that work in the event business are like no other group. We work 18 hour days back to back dragging these shows from town to town and these conditions attract and create a certain kind of person that is tough as nails, capable on running with little sleep and has a high tolerance for food poisining.

Awesome guitar and bass. Really a pleasure to listen to and watch.
Hi roadiesrockstar with love from Nigeria west Africa...
Sorry brother
Do you remember the Wallflowers ran late and went on last, the place was 1/2 empty.
Absolutely I was the monitor mixer. The sensation of this 35 hour day coming to a close was overwhelming 😉
Outfuckingstanding! We'll come into your town. We'll help you party down...
We’re an American Band! 😉
Nailed it! Been there and there and there. Looks like NYC is back in it's old dress, like when I first took a bus there in the late 80's. Never liked Vegas, fake beyond fake. And Florida? You forgot the best entertainment in the USA, Florida man! Safe travels, make that scatch! 😈🖤🤘
I loved that band... shit ton of talent. Tony Brock was good enough to replace Carmine in Rod Stewart's band. Great job.
They had some really good songs
Memories and bad decisions...
Rain✔️ Mud✔️ Alcohol ✔️
Not necessarily in that order 😉
That reminds me of the Henry Rollins quote about performers not being jerks to the crew. How did this alter you perception of him, still a big fan?
I still think he’s the greatest heavy metal singer of all time. Iv had artists throw tantrums my entire career, it’s part of the job and you just can’t take it personally. 😉
Ronnie was not that kind of guy but he was human, maybe something happened before... Not in a good circonstance badly but hey???!!! You met Ronnie personnally!!! 🤘🏻😅 My man of the silver mountain and everywhere else, he sang like a angel in heaven and hell! Miss you Ronnie!!!! 🤘🏻😔💔
I don’t hold it against him, I blame his staff. I think he’s the all time greatest 😉
finally someone who gives a balanced look instead of immediately demonizing the concert goes as ungrateful savages. god bless.
Thanks , just calling it as I see it. 😉
@@roadiesnrockstars your a good man. dont forget that.
This isn't fitting in my house. But it will certainly get my neighbors attention.
That's a lotta boom!
I need a pair of those in my living room 😂
Yes you do 😉
No matter wind or rain or snow apparently....just like the US mail.
The show must go on 😉
This kind of stuff happened everywhere in the 80s and 90s. If the people of today only knew.
Absolutely 😉
Well hell yeah
What boom no volume
Blurs the vision when it’s on 😬
@@roadiesnrockstars Great answer.
Looks like rain- Check✔️
If you want to guarantee rain in Central Park just book me to be there. 😩
Why, oh why could they not have taught such simple circuit paths to me as a female? TY for finally showing me. Jeez, did the lack of a dongle between my legs REALLY make the mysteries of Ohm, mAh, Amps & circuits too obscure for mastery? Hopefully I won't need to troubleshoot too much. But eventually I have to replace the cones in those wedges. Hey, Pete, will high heat (150°) hurt any of my rack components? Especially my mixer?
Depends on what your cooking on it 😉
@@roadiesnrockstars Ideally, all the bed bugs & their eggs currently infesting the rack components.
@@telerisghost gonna be fine
I love that T-shirt on "witness"... This was a triumph I'm making a note here, "Huge success" It's hard to overstate my satisfaction... Aperture Science... We do what we must because we can For the good of all of us, except the ones who are dead
No doubt 😉
what you got that surfer lookin dude livin with you now? he owe you money or something? haha
I’m surrounded by surfers 🏄
Joe Perry for the win.
Coolest guy 😉
jokes on everyone else, he is a pro troll. He is doing this on purpose, its an act. The cringe makes everyone genuinely curious to watch/witness/click on all his stuff....quite a brilliant psychological marketing thing he has tapped into and people still falling for it years later, more power to him. They could easily have had a badass opening track playing on an dang iphone that would had made a better and easier intro than that so dont (or do) fall for this...its purposeful haha
He’s my hero 😉
Was that Dice show at the State Theater? If so, I think I was there and Dice yelled at CC about the lighting too!
Music Hall. 😩
I thought a wahini was a chick
Stupid video...what a waste of my time...delete!!
I'll tell you, Stu. I did battle some humongous waves. But you know, just like I told the guy on ABC, 'danger is my business , I'm so wasted!...
You kids have fun!
Yes we do 😉
A RIC with A PICK?! Never too loud!🎛️🎚️🎸🥁🔊🔊
🔥🤘🏻😎
😉
More cowbell 😅😂🤣 love the guitar playing!
I would love to do a show were every song was cowbell heavy 😉
Sounds perfect to me Peter!
About Heaven&Hell album... NEVER too loud! 🔥🤘🏻🔥
Just got your book today!
Awesome 🤩 hope you get some laughs
Where the hell did you dig up old piston boxes?????????????
I’m like the audio Indiana Jones 😉
Did Gadd play Yamaha or his Gretsch kit on that session?
Red Sparkle Ludwig 😉
Wow! Thanks!
I still have my handcuffs around here somewhere.
But do you know where the keys are? 🤔
@@roadiesnrockstars No. lol They were used ostensibly for securing my briefcase in various venues to water pipes etc, but as you know, improvisation occurs.
It is my absolute pleasure to be a member of the Sensational Alex Harvey Experience [ Scottish based trib band ] , SAHB were ahead of their time and a phenomenal live act . Thanks for this ;)
Please post any of your links. Would love to see your band 😉
Hey Pete you working the Citizen fest this year? My daughter's best friend wants to go see Doja Cat so I got us some tickets...
Awesome I’ll see you there. dM me in facebook and let’s meet up
Pete, ages ago, like 40+ years, the AV guy for the schools taught me to replace cones in speakers. I recall it being a matter of connecting a couple of wires & putting in a few screws. Is it as simple as I recall? I inherited a pair of stage wedges (Alesis, I think?). The are currently in storage... But I honestly think based on what I recall, I can measure the cone's diameter... I mean, ok, there's no radio schlock to run to with your old cone to be certain of the fit, but ... Tell me I'm not misremembering having to use electrical tape after twisting a couple of wires, slap that new cone in there & screw it in. I can't recall if there are 4 or more screws. I remember they were small! THAT will have me swearing up a storm.... Tell me I didn't forget about attaching a whosawhatsit to a thingamajig! I want to be able to do this myself! You would not believe the number of tech skills educators actually refused to give me me because I lack a dick between my legs! Schematics, soldering, electrical paths- all were considered too difficult for the female mind to grasp. Same for wiring the patch board for lights. Run the board all day long, but those mysteries you must have a twig & berries in your thatch to learn! Ah, the 70's and 80s. Though they strove valiantly, the only equality we got was on the meat market! Teleri, note to self: disposable cat bowls make excellent temporary screw containers...
Excellent story 😉
Jump in and show us just how wet it is 😂
I would but I’m already in Atlanta
@@roadiesnrockstars That's cheating 😅😂🤣
Only wet on the damp part. 😅
That’s the part I’m concerned about 😉
looks wet
Whirled peas....
I know I sure missed you!!! I missed the offending breakdancing. Now I have to go hunt it down!! LOL
Just don’t talk about it on social media 😉
Awesome.
Rumble is a free speech platform
Yes it is. I have a Rumble channel that is the mirror of this one. It sucks that I’m not even talking about anything controversial or political 😏
I don't have a huge problem that Jethro Tull hasn't been inducted. They were or are mentioned on the rrhf tour or were once upon a time, even though they weren't inductees. Anyway, all I know is I love them. I first saw the band for the Stormwatch tour in Connecticut when I was a young lad. I've seen then 3 times henceforth. Ian has done an incredible job over the years. He has all the satisfaction he needs. The music will be remembered.
Amazing performance 😉
